After the recommendations I watched Apocalypse and found DB's 'manipulations' incredulous. So much so I further watched many other different episodes he had done to learn and observe the ways he 'controls' people and his methods of hypnosis. FWIW I was blown away by how much of the material off this forum he was re-enacting. I have never come across so much of the material we are studying being played out 'for real' and for that reason found it fascinating. But still inside I felt it was duping/controlling people and very STS/pathalogical even.
There was also an interview showing his house etc and the stuffed animals and deformed animals alone made my flesh crawl, veryweird collectables, yet a lone to live with them - has he got a partner???? Not only did I doubt it but also felt that he would be soooo manipulative if he had. He had been bullied and was also small stature which also made me think of Hitler!
I did enjoy the meticulous planning and viewing/learning being on tenterhooks aspect but was more perturbed about the guy who was made to think he had killed someone - in the 'cluedo' episode, thanin Apocalypse. (he also stated that it was a method used by police to get people to make false confessions).
In Apocalypse he could also of 'trained' the guy not to swear and other things through auto suggestion which he uses so much.
It is a good way of spotting when such tactics are being used and trying to assess how he does things with our 'psychology' studies in mind.
The episode where he transported a guy in a photo kiosk to Morocco had me in hysterics - helps keep the awful depression away from this awful novo virus I have at the moment - but again would have been against his will if he had not have crept in his bedroom (lack of privacy) and got him to sign the contract for trick or treat.
There are so many ways of using hypnosis for the wrong reasons and these are many of them IMHO. The screen shots from Derren Brown exposed.net were a great help as the forum was my immediate port to check out verifcations of my own thoughts and to learn vital things I would have missed - many. Thanks.
