Thomas Sheridans books and videos on youtube about Psychopaths

I ordered Sheridan's book a while ago, finally got it in the mail. It's not a book by a forensic psychologist. It's somewhat of a relief that he is not, in that he has no political agenda to defend or avoid. So far, it reads like an intelligent, educated person attempting to teach Psychopathy 101. A person with some personal experience.

I'm still reading it, and look forward to reading how this concept gets unpacked by a person who is merely an intelligent and insightful person, as opposed to a "proffessonal".

Yes indeed. I enjoyed it very much. Well, as much as you can enjoy something like that; you know what I mean! It's ALMOST the book I would have liked to write myself!

I am reading this book right now too and its confused me a bit about how he believes psychopathy is just as common in men as it is in women. I would think that testosterone levels would play a factor in it being more common in men. I also read from other researchers that it's ten times more common in men, which is a huge difference!

I think that the quotes posted as a reply to this explain a lot. As to testosterone playing a factor, IMO that could be misleading and only one piece of the puzzle. A lot of studies on psychopathy have been made with diagnosed male psychopaths in prisons. Perhaps female psychopaths are not that common there, but just because they don't have such strongly violent behaviors as some of their male counterparts do, it doesn't mean they don't exist. BUT, if one were to take all the women who live at home but create a real hell for their husbands and children, then the statistics would probably go up by a lot!

Same thing with psychopaths placed in positions of power. There are far more males occupying those positions than women, but when a woman like that gets there too, we see that the result is the same (e.g Condoleeza Rice and others). And I would not explain this quantitative difference in terms of "there must be less psychopathic women than men", but rather as a possible consequence of how the system is set up today (more male dominant). That is, a female psychopath might have more chances to destroy people's lives and deplete their energy when "keeping a lower profile", hence, they might choose less "ambitious" paths more often.

That's my take on it, FWIW.

Thomas Sheridan recently announced that he has started a new website called psychopathfree.com. The announcement video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L42AGbz4icU&feature=channel_video_title

http://psychopathfree.com/ was started in November 2011 as a result of individuals from various social networking and other message boards deciding that a global hub for people who have been targeted and/or abused by psychopaths was needed. This site was then created for targets of psychopathic abuse to share their stories and find healing within a safe and secure environment. Personal privacy and free information are the pillars on which psychopathfree.com is built.

Along with fair and vigilant moderation, we have created a friendly, relaxed and informative message board open to anyone who has been a target of a psychopath. We also serve as a vital resource for dealing with this often hidden scourge which is attacking the human race, and which is only now becoming a mainstream issue.

IMPORTANT: As psychopathfree.com is only concerned with defending empathic men and women from psychopathic abuse and manipulation - we have zero tolerance for any form of bullying, racism, sectarianism, homophobia and sexism. We also do not allow the real names/photos of abusers posted -- unless they appear in the media as a result of court cases etc.

Thanks for the thread with this book suggestion. I am preparing to conduct a class about psychopaths in and out of power at occupy charlotte, and I am sure it will be quite helpful along with what I have learned here.

Another item was his claim that there are as many female psychopaths as male.

I think the 50-50 may be accurate...in my personal experience, I've encountered as many females as males. I think we just hear about the males more often than the females because the male psycho's are physically violent more often than the females? Testosterone gets headlines.

I've seen a psycho female get a (rather slow witted) man to do violence for her.

Ditto here: its been my experience that female psychopaths are better at hiding and using existing social systems to their advantage...unless they are totally clueless, which isn't often.

Yup, especially the little ones. A 5' tall 120lb female psycho doesn't have the same intimidation options available to her as a 6' tall 200lb make psycho...so she adapts. When a female psycho does get violent, 9 times out of 10, she targets her children. I think because they're smaller and weaker than even a tiny woman?

I just finished Puzzling People a couple of days ago. It really is a must read. I found it to be one of those books you just don't want to put down. It flowed very well, with alot of great information. After reading every book on our reccommended reading list in the psychology section, I still learned a great deal from this book.

I also got some unexpected closure from an exercise in the back that I think helped me to get some of my energy back from the various psychopaths. I have to tell you I felt noticeably more whole and at peace after completing the exercise, and now I do it in place of being attached to my suffering and during some EE meditations. I have been fed on and targeted by 7 psychopaths during the course of my life. The first being my father who abandoned all his children, now I can say thankfully.

I sent the author a message on face book to thank him, a very nice guy. He asked me to write a review on amazon which I am going to do by this Monday. He said that someone gave him one star trying to shut down the book. I'm sure he would love it if any of you guys got around to putting a good word on Amazon for him also, this goes for Laura's books too which I just bought a slew of last week. I am certainly anticipating Sheridan's new book as well as the Wave 8!

I just got back from Occupy Charlotte today. Four guys burned a flag, and now everyone is at each others throats about it. The Charlotte movement has turned into pure chaos, and internal conflict. The members are dropping like flies. I wish these activists would get that upset about the NDAA!! Or those guys burned the constitution instead. SOTT has an article up about it today.

I am so thankful for this group. The level of being here verses there is like night and day. I have an all new appreciation for the moderators after watching trolls and agent provocateurs and useful idiots have their hay day. Only a handful of people showed up today at Occupy Charlotte. There was supposed to be a march at one o'clock, but since no one showed up really, I left at about 2 after it was apparent we wouldn't be protesting. I felt like I was wasting my time because no one was particularly interested in having a conversation with me about anything meaningful like psychopaths, cointel-pro or the NDAA, and I felt shunned. I am still going to write the teach in, but the movement in Charlotte is in critical condition, and those that are there are all over the place with the false knowledge and disinformation. So programed and shutting or ignoring ideas before doing the research. It seems pledging allegiance to the flag every morning in school really worked on these folks. Swampy stuff guys, I'll stop writing now. I am off topic. I love you guys.

I just looked and it appears "Steve" joined Amazon just to pan Sheridan's book. I'd bet a gluten free cookie that "Steve" is in the book

Here's the link again for convenience:

I think it's a pretty good book too, so I'll add my review tomorrow. I have to agree with Laura that it does drift into wishful thinking in places...but that's a minor thing.

After DECADES of work, I've learned that I don't always have to offer up the truth of what I think.

Thanks for posting that link Guardian. It was very thoughtful and externally considerate of you. I hope you got your favorite drum repaired and your animals are doing well.

I finished the review on Amazon, and I thought I'd share it here. Yep Yep!

Everyone who uses their conscience should read this book!!!, January 2, 2012
By Rebecca.S

This review is from: Puzzling People: The Labyrinth of the Psychopath (Paperback)
Puzzling people offers life saving knowledge in an easy to read highly entertaining format. The author lays out a simple way identify psychopaths, and get wise to their schemes so you don't get taken on their rollercoaster ride of suffering and loss ever again on a personal level. This book teaches you to recover from the traumatic pain of being victimized by one or more psychopaths. It shows you how to reclaim the energy the psychopath stole from you and find the meaning in your suffering to become a better, wiser, more knowledgeable and loving person. Puzzling People discusses how psychopaths affect society and the world at large. This is critical because until we realize collectively that psychopaths can be our government leaders, we will continue to reap what they sow. This book is for anyone who loves the truth, for anyone who is brave and open minded enough to strive to see the world for what it really is. As I said in the title everyone who uses their conscience should read this book. It truly is a master piece of truth.
