"The USS Eisenhower, an American aircraft carrier that holds eight fighter bomber squadrons and 8,000 men, arrived at the Syrian coast yesterday in the midst of a heavy storm, indicating US preparation for a potential ground intervention.
While the Obama administration has not announced any sort of American-led military intervention in the war-torn country, the US is now ready to launch such action “within days” if Syrian President Bashar al-Assad decides to use chemical weapons against the opposition, the Times reports.
Some have suggested that the Assad regime may use chemical weapons against the opposition fighters in the coming days or weeks.
The arrival of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, one of the 11 US Navy aircraft carriers that has the capacity to hold thousands of men, is now stationed at the coast of Syria, DEBKAfile reports. The aircraft carrier joined the USS Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group, which holds about 2,500 Marines.
“We have (US) special operations forces at the right posture, they don’t have to be sent,” an unnamed US official told The Australian, which suggested that US military troops are already near Syria and ready to intervene in the conflict, if necessary.
If the US decides to intervene militarily in Syria, it now has at its disposal 10,000 fighting men, 17 warships, 70 fighter-bombers, 10 destroyers and frigates and a guided military cruises. Some of the vessels are also equipped with Aegis missile interceptors to shoot down any missiles Syria might have at hand, according to DEBKAfile.
“The muscle is already there to be flexed,” a US official told the London Times about the US military’s presence outside of Syria. “It’s premature to say what could happen if a decision is made to intervene. That hasn’t taken shape, we’ve not reached that kind of decision. There are a lot of options, but it [military action] could be launched rapidly, within days.”
The move comes after NATO made a significant strategic decision Tuesday to deploy Patriot Air and Missile Defense Systems in Turkey on the border of Syria where opposition groups have the stronghold. The defense would be able to protect Turkey from potential Syrian missiles that could contain chemical weapons, as well as intimidate Syrian Air Force pilots from bombing the northern Syria border towns, which the armed rebels control. Syria is thought to have about 700 missiles.
“The protection from NATO will be three dimensional; one is the short-range Patriots, the second is the middle-range Terminal High Altitude Air Defense [THAD] system and the last is the AEGIS system, which counters missiles that can reach outside the atmosphere,” Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said.
DEBKAfile’s anonymous military sources claim the THAD and Aegis arrived at the Syrian coast aboard the USS Eisenhower.
“The United States now stands ready for direct military intervention in the Syrian conflict when the weather permits,” the news source wrote."

Think Obama was talking about Red-Lines the other day and propaganda was mentioned about Syrian chemical stockpile activity aka shades of WMD's photos.

What an evil war orchestra that is being assembled.

So, all it takes is Mossad to gas Syrians, stream the images through the MSM, point the finger at the government of Syria, and Voila, another Iraq. A time loop, learn or become the manure for beings who may learn could be seen as one of their purposes I guess.

Why even bother involving MOSSAD, or any intelligence agency for that matter? I'm sure if Assad was desperate enough he might legitimately use the weapons himself; he does seem to be losing, at least according to the MSM.
We've basically forced him into a corner, funded the guys who are fighting him and destroying his nation and then we tell him "no, you fight back, we invade proper."
The desperate act of using chemical weapons out of his own initiative wouldn't surprise me one bit.

How appropriate that I just read this:

"Torn flesh, splintered bones, screaming agony are bad enough. But perhaps most heart rending of all are the tiny faces and bodies scorched and seared by fire. Napalm, and its more horrible companion, white phosphorus, liquidize young flesh and carve it into grotesque froms. The little figures are afterward often scarcely human in appearance, and one cannot be confronted with the monstrous effects of burning without being totally shaken....The initial urge to reach out and soothe the hurt was restrained by the fear that ash-like skin would crumble in my fingers."

- On Genocide by Jean Paul Sartre

It is Israel and pals who uses white phosphorous, isn't it? This time loop is completely inhuman.

I'm just wondering if that's not another disinfo. ALL articles I could find so far can be traced back to DEBKA (a well known disinfo outlet) as the original source.

Russian State Media Reports USS Eisenhower Near Syria
December 6th, 2012

Fox Reporting Syria’s Sarin Weapons in Ready State

If this is true, I don’t see how the U.S. can attack these weapons; to do so would release the sarin. Right?

Maybe someone from .mil can confirm: Will the U.S. attack binary sarin weapons that are in a ready state?

Who the hell knows what’s actually happening on this thing. With sources like Russia Today and Fox News… *sigh*

Via: Fox: [_http://gretawire.foxnewsinsider.com/breaking-news/syria-has-mixed-sarin-gas-and-is-ready-to-use/]

Below is from FNC Pentagon Producer Justin Fishel:

I can confirm from a senior US official that sarin gas has been mixed and is ready to use. They have 60 days to use it until it expires and needs to be destroyed.

[note the shelf life of the mixed sarin gas is 60 days]

Update: Is ‘Red Line’ Crossed If Either Assad Uses Chemical Weapons Or Rebels Get Control of Them?

You know, the rebels the NATO countries have been supporting…

Via: Los Angeles Times:

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton indicated Wednesday that Washington is as concerned about Syria’s chemical weapons falling into the hands of Syrian rebels as it is about the possibility that Syrian President Bashar Assad may decide to deploy them.

“Our concerns are that an increasingly desperate Assad regime might turn to chemical weapons, or might lose control of them to one of the many groups that are now operating within Syria,” Clinton told reporters at the end of two days of NATO ministerial meetings in Brussels. “We have sent an unmistakable message that this would cross a red line and those responsible would be held to account.”

Apparently, the Eisenhower is in the Mediterranean:

FWIW... And I'm not saying that it cannot happen any moment soon.

I don't follow the news. Why does the U.S. want to perform a dictator swap in Syria?

Search Sott.net for articles on Syria and it will help you understand why these events are happening.

One commentator suggests:
We have to remember the US adventure in Syria ending in defeat would be the end of US hegemony in the Middle East. If they're unable to continue their march from Syria, that means their attempt to destroy Iran is unlikely to evolve. That means that their stranglehold over the Persian Gulf and the oil resources is weakening so they're putting all their cards on the table and all their chips in the pot when it comes to Syria.

Thanks Pob. I searched and found many articles about "how", but not much on "why".

I don't think that Bashar Al-Assad would use arms against the population. Why, on the name of god, he would do this? I feel very sad with this situation, as I felt sad when they did the exactly same thing in Libya. Bashar Al-Assad said that if the NATO invade Syria it will cause a war in the region. It seems to me that nothing stop this terrible empire of USA/Israel. And I would not be surprise that all the bla bla bla about the nuclear arsenal in Israel and bla bla bla is there to attire the attention away for what will happen very soon, I am sure, in Syria. Syria! One of the oldest civilization of our species! The cradle of humanity. Nothing to stop this.

I've been doing some reading. This Syria thing is merely a continuation of the "Pivot Point" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Geographical_Pivot_of_History where the Anglo/American empire contests Russia for control of Eurasia.

We know that empires always end in debt collapse; Egyptian, Holy Roman, British, Soviet, et al.

The Banksters profit from both empire building, and empire collapse. It's like playing roulette in Las Vegas where you win if the ball falls on red or black. :)

The part about the aircraft carrier might be true - didn't the US announce during the attack on Gaza that they would be sending a couple of carriers to the region anyway, to "evacuate Americans"? The part about Assad using chemical weapons against their own people, however, sounds like lies to me in preparation of an open attack or invasion from NATO.

Why target Syria? Various reasons, one of which is that Syria is an ally of Iran, and it is easier to take out Israel's enemies one at a time than all at once.

It wasn't a carrier but three 'frigate' ships, pretty big though.
