Tips to speed up recovery from concussion?

Thanks for all your suggestions. I am going to see an acupuncturist next week and have been getting some Bach Flowers that were supposed to help with concussion. I haven't felt any improvement from the Bach's Flowers but I might have been worse off without

As for the DMSO, I am mixing it with pure organic Aloe Vera gel. It gets a bit gooey but I figured that Aloe Vera would be one of the safest things to mix it with. When I apply the DMSO I can feel that a substance is entering my body. It is not unpleasant but it is noticeably different. So far it has had little effect on the head but I'll keep applying it daily for a while to see if it improves.

It's a great idea with the speech to text plug-in. If it works out OK, I might give the Eirius-Eolas thread a go - it should last me at least a week :)

The problem with my recovery seems to be primarily related to seeing. I can walk around fine and do some mild yoga-poses. However, when I go outside I have to look down into the ground as the visual input is a sensory overload. Similarly, when my wife drives me somewhere, I have to close my eyes as I get nauseous and headaches if I keep the eyes open.

When I can afford it, I will try to find a homeopathic doctor and then a osteopath.

Once again, thanks for your responses - it means a lot to me.

I am sorry to hear about your concussion and hope you will recover soon.

There are text to audio softwares available which you can install and use it as trail version for 2wks to 1 month. Though they are not as good as professional reading, but they are decent to listen . I use this TextAloud _http://www.nextup.com/download.html. you can install and copy paste the text you want to read and play to listen. some come with a plugin to the mozilla too. you can copy paste the entire forum page and let it run.
The text-to-speech firefox addon:

Thanks for the TTS suggestion. I have converted all but four of the articles on the main cass page to .mp3 files. The quality is quite good and it doesn't take very long to get used to. Obviously, some of the articles are not as suited for reading aloud as others. There are currently 55 files with the rest being added over the weekend.

If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to share them with you. Unfortunately, they are quite large, ranging from 12 mb to 250 mb in size but I'd be happy to ftp them to you if that is not considered an unnecessary risk. If so, we can figure out another way to make the files available. It is great to listen to the articles while walking or doing house work :)

Unfortunately, the concussion is progressing only very slowly. It is getting better but still no more than 5-10 minutes of reading or computer time is possible. The good news is that I get plenty of time to spend on cooking and my three-month anniversary on the USD is only a couple of weeks away :D
