Haiden. I know how you feel. I've been through the similar situation while living in Kiev, Ukraine after Chernobyl accident. In the first days after the accident, when the people weren't even properly informed about it and the situation at the nuclear plant was critical (the reactor was about to blow up as in nuclear explosion), there was the International bicycle race (!) right in the center of the city (Kiev is only 90 km from Pripyat, where Chernobyl plant is located). And when informed, many people had the same attitude as you described in your post. It made me feel so sad and angry.
is honestly appalling and insane!

Kaigen said:Seams nobody care in Japan, as the election of Abe was the lowest voting I ever heard. I don't remember well but it was something about 30% of the voters. So nothing really surprise me here anymore.

They had the 2004 Olympics in Greece, and Greece spent a bundle of money on building stadiums that are now abandoned.
They had the 2008 Olympics in China, despite the Chinese Government around that time and since having some real problems with human rights of Tibetans, Uighurs, Falun Gong practitioners, and political dissidents.
When they had the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India, they bulldozed slums to tidy up New Delhi beforehand.
