Read this thread Aragorn which brought up things of a similar nature, although not exactly of your feelings and perspective. In this case it was about friends, what was said and how i've reacted or didn't. What anart said really is a good lesson, for whatever the case, our blindness to hyper-dimensionality - 4d, like 2d to 3d perception, we could and do certainly "play into their hands" with our energies. Think knowing this helps, osit.
Some friends were with us a few years back and she brought up ufo's and in particular her experience. Interested, asked her about this and the response back was that in 1968 +/-, being a little girl then, she and her sister, with their mother and aunts, left a visit and on the way home she says there was a massive craft in an adjacent field from the highway. From descriptions when asked, she said it was like the size of a football field. Stranger still she said, was that there were many cars stopped and people watching; around it. When she asked her mother and aunts, they were both told to lay on the car floor so they could not be seen, and don't watch they said - she remembers nothing else and yet she seemed to have more to say, yet did not.
When remembering this event, looked up the year and location for documented evidence and although sightings in and around this time and near this place were cited, no description met with the strange grand scene she described. To date, as said, she has never expanded on this or brought this back up and i've never asked; but wanted to.
The second area event happened in the late 70's, which was described by two women I worked with doing surveys. They both talked about cattle mutilations in the area, naming known farmers and very detailed descriptions of who, what, where and others knowing this - it was apparently common knowledge and investigated by outside 'agencies'. So like the first event, looked this up, too. What was found was absolutely nothing, no mention in archived papers, nothing. Ever since, have been meaning to ask more questions, have been reluctant, and not so sure now that would be wise.
The only thing personally I can remember seeing, was as a child in the late 60's after Christmas on a very cold clear night, a fireball, very red - passed along the horizon. It seemed the size of a baseball held at arms length and lasted for a prolonged tens of seconds. The other kids with me did not say the had seen this, nor my family, which stunned me, how could that be. So in my little mind, in the end, just chalked this up to a comet sighting, once I understood what those were, which it likely was - donno. There has been instance upon reflection of time gap strangeness, as likely with many. However, as you pointed out about looking under hypnosis at these matters, similarly for me it would be a distraction from the work and focus on the un-perceivable 3d to 4d view. Knowing what i've read of those who have struggled with this here and the not so nice intentions of hyperdimentional STS beings or the 3d facades forces that act out their mental programs upon us - knowledge of the methods and actions hopefully will protect.
