Re: NASA UFO footage
Nice thkx.
Nice thkx.

I think its wild the astronauts don't appear to be too alarmed about "visitors" - or "hardly worth mentioning" as Alan Shepard puts it to Edgar Mitchell while shuffling about the Moon - and yet there seems to be quite a variety of visitors (or potential adversaries?) but the astronauts seem impervious to any threat.
And we're definitely not a lion in cosmic terms - we're a microbe who thinks he's the only living thing around, and is convinced that nothing out there could possibly be interested in eating him.

SAO said:I find that the implications is the most interesting aspect of this - not just the technological implications, but the question of "who are they and what is the nature of their interaction with our world?". We must be important enough for someone to put in the energy/effort to come here - whether from another physical location or another dimension, we're important enough for them to hang out here - so the question is, what is our value, or the value of our planet, to them? It's funny how something that, for a reasonable civilization, should be an international and public concern #1 of every human on the planet, is non-existent.
SAO said:Also I think it's fascinating how noisy humans are - we've been blasting electromagnetic waves into space ever since TV, radio, etc, were invented, completely unconcerned about who may pick up the signal. Isn't that in and of itself extreme hubris? Sure space looks empty, but we have absolutely no basis to make such a claim - we don't even know if there's life on Mars yet because of insufficient technology to visit it, nevermind any planets that we barely detect outside of our solar system - we just have no way to detect other civilizations right now, not unless they are being super noisy with their own radio waves and are next door to us so to speak.
SAO said:Humans are like some being with amnesia that just woke up inside a big black box - we know absolutely nothing about our origins, why we even exist, or the nature of our realm and why that exists also, where anything came from or why - we just know that for whatever reason, here we are on this planet surrounded by blackness, with no memory of who we are or what we're doing here, or what "here" even is.
