Sorry, but it is on ABC10 news. There were previous videos from that area where drug smuggling was intercepted. But the story claims it was a military exercise.

It's still a noteworthy story, imo. Most of the recent comments under the video, from US residents, seem to agree with that assessment too (although obviously there's some bias involved with who's commenting).
The military state that they told local officials, but that residents were not informed, despite the fact that there were noisy helicopters, that apparently flew so low that they made people's houses shake, and with the training continuing past midnight; it's no wonder residents were startled. And the reason the military gave was that they wanted to practice 'close quarter combat training in a built up environment'. It would be interesting to know how often drills of this kind occur.
I recall a similar incident in 2019, which, notably, was also in California:

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KGTV) — Some Point Loma residents were startled Monday night by several loud “bangs” and low-flying helicopters just outside their homes.
San Diego Police confirmed to ABC 10News the situation was part of a “pre-planned military exercise.”
“The house was literally vibrating with it … it was scary! I immediately thought there’s something really serious going on in the neighborhood,” said Point Loma resident Martha Pistacchi.
Residents say living in this area, they’re used to frequent aircraft overhead.
“But this time was different. I honestly thought something was going to land on the roof,” said Pistacchi.
Neighbors say the helicopters did briefly land in a park near Liberty Station.
“This area behind me is where they came in and landed,” said one father, who told ABC 10News his daughter was frightened by the noise that began around 8 p.m. and continued past midnight.
“I get the training aspect of things. The problem I have is that there was no public notice,” he said.
“They do need to train, but it’s OK to let the public know not specifically what they’re doing but that they’re going to be in the area and you may be hearing these sights and sounds for this period of time,” said resident Steve Ravellette.
U.S Army officials issued the following statement to ABC 10News:
“Members of the U.S. Army are conducting coordinated, essential military training in designated locations around San Diego, California, Jan. 24 to Feb. 04, 2023.
The training consists of air and ground mobility operations and close-quarter combat training to enhance soldiers’ skills by operating in a realistic environment.
Safety precautions are in place to protect participants, along with planning considerations to minimize impact to the community.
This training was coordinated with appropriate officials.”

Recently, with the heavy rains, and landslides, the engineers that repair all the roads might have concerns about ongoing landslides..... So, like in Alaska - to create avalanches - road crews would set off cannons to start a avalanche. Then clear the snow with equipment on the ready.
So, they would do it at night to cause less traffic disruption... But why keep it secret? Maybe because all the activism, that keeps projects from happening with all the bureaucracy... So they just incorporate it into a military exercise to hasten their goal to fix roads and stabilize hillsides.
Spy balloon?
. They did not shoot it down because they were concerned by the debris? Riiight!China must be spying over here as well.

A woman saw what she claims was a possible explosion in the sky over Billings on Friday, February 3, 2022, and she shared a video of the incident on Twitter.
Dolly Moore, who lives near the intersection of Grand Avenue and Shiloh Road, posted on Twitter that she saw a jet go by and then heard what she described as an explosion in the sky. A loud noise can be heard in the video, but it's unclear where it's coming from.
MTN News interviewed Moore and confirmed she shot this video on Friday:
Pentagon says another Chinese spy balloon is traveling over Latin America
Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said Friday night there's a Chinese surveillance balloon traveling over Latin America in addition to the one floating over the U.S.
The U.S. government says another Chinese spy balloon is traveling over Latin America.
"We are seeing reports of a balloon transiting Latin America," Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, a Pentagon spokesperson, told Fox News Friday night. "We now assess it is another Chinese surveillance balloon."
Ryder said during a briefing Thursday the U.S. government detected a high-altitude surveillance balloon over the continental U.S.
A senior defense official said during the briefing the U.S. government is "confident" the surveillance balloon is from the People's Republic of China.
The balloon was recently over Montana, and the official said the government considered shooting it down but decided against using military force because of the potential risks.
When President Biden was briefed on the situation, he asked for military options, the official said.

A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Friday the balloon is a "civilian airship" being used for meteorological purposes and deviated from its planned course.
"The airship is from China. It is a civilian airship used for research, mainly meteorological, purposes," the spokesperson said. "Affected by the Westerlies and with limited self-steering capability, the airship deviated far from its planned course."

The Pentagon does not believe the object is a weather balloon that veered off course.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken canceled a previously planned trip to China as a result of the balloon's discovery.
The balloon was seen over Kansas City, Missouri, Friday. Ryder told reporters the balloon will probably hover over U.S. airspace "a few days."

AccuWeather meteorologists are analyzing the possible path of the suspected Chinese high-altitude balloon that was spotted over the Billings, Montana, area on Wednesday evening.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry claimed Friday that the balloon is a "civilian airship" used mainly for weather research that had strewn from its planned course, CNN reported. The statement was the first admission that the balloon had originated in China since the Pentagon had announced it was tracking the airship on Thursday.
"It is a civilian airship used for research, mainly meteorological, purposes. Affected by the Westerlies and with limited self-steering capability, the airship deviated far from its planned course. The Chinese side regrets the unintended entry of the airship into US airspace due to force majeure," the Chinese foreign ministry said, according to CNN.

“We are not aware of weather balloons that have the reported characteristics of this large, high-altitude balloon," AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Jonathan Porter said.
If the movement of the high-altitude balloon observed over the Billings, Montana, area on Wednesday evening is primarily based upon atmospheric winds as opposed to any other maneuvering mechanism, AccuWeather meteorologists report that the upper-level winds may result in the balloon drifting across parts of the central and eastern United States in the coming days.
Utilizing AccuWeather’s largest database of foundational weather data available from any source globally, AccuWeather meteorologists reviewed detailed observations of current atmospheric winds as well as numerous forecast models.
While the exact altitude is unclear, high-altitude balloons typically fly around 60,000 feet or higher -- a level at which the balloons fly above the jet stream -- or the fast-moving current of air that guides the movement of weather systems -- and above the altitude commercial airlines would fly.
"Upper-level winds could guide the balloon southeastward and eventually eastward overhead the mid-Atlantic on Saturday morning and off the East Coast by Saturday evening," Porter said.
However, if the balloon is flying at a greater altitude, the direction of travel could take a different path. Porter pointed out as an example that if the balloon was flying at an altitude greater than 70,000 feet, it could have taken a track to the west from Montana instead of traversing the corridor from the Intermountain West to Northern California.
"Weather balloons are used in a variety of ways to monitor current atmospheric conditions and collect data for research," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan DePodwin said.
These balloons record everything from temperature, humidity and wind speed, which can be used by weather forecast models to predict the movement of weather systems.
"At some point, typically after the balloon reaches over 50,000 feet, the balloon bursts and the small payload of weather instruments fall slowly back to earth," DePodwin said. "There are also weather balloons that stay aloft for longer periods of time at higher altitudes with some able to maneuver between altitudes. These also measure the atmosphere and are typically for research purposes."

About the military training with helicopters... According to some comments in this video, it was announced by the military beforehand, and so the surprise is due to people not watching or listening to mass media. Another commenter, apparently in the know, says more training on 2/15/23.
But this video is about army training in San Diego, where copters are shown flying between high rises. Locals seem to think it is unusual.
