Watch a vegetarian eat meat for the first time in 22 years

I saw this one on FB, it is certainly how I feel when eating good pastured, grass fed meats! Good one! :bacon:

What is interesting (if true with the 22 years without meat), is at the end, she has a emotional awakening (via chemical). And a momentary connection of the mind, body, and spirit.

Spiritual Nutrition: How the Foods You Eat Affect Your Mind, Body and Spirit

In almost every culture, food has long played a dual physical and spiritual role, and with that, many rules have been handed down. The Jewish tradition forbids eating pork, the Hindus forbid eating beef, and many Native American tribes prohibit eating foods that are not sacred. Conversely, there are spiritual foods that bestow spiritual power. Indigenous ceremonies are often based on stringent rules regarding what foods to serve. While conducting two weeks of shamanic ceremony in Peru, I was put on an icaro, or medicine man’s purification diet.

Thanks for sharing. I thought she was going to start crying about half way through. It's interesting that most of the people in the comments section don't seem to believe it's a genuine reaction. I'm not sure if it is or not but it is kind of what you would expect after being half-starved for almost a quarter of a century... and there is something indescribably delicious about the fat portions of meat.

Good observation. And thanks for networking your thoughts.

I had been a vegetarian for more than 10 years until 2008, I think. I felt it was unethical to savagely kill animals to eat their meat. I still think the same way about the savagery issue, I mean we cause a lot of pain to them.

Around that time, I decided to quit vegetarianism, and the C's guidance about the issue helped me a lot about this decision. I'm happy for this.

It reminds me the pleasure I felt, eating a beef tenderloin... Just yesterday ! With my family, which slowly becomes accostumate to eating less detrimental foods.

Thank you c.a., I am aware of the recipes, and I am not taking food as a temptation any more, just letting myself be, and if I slip (and I do, because food is very hypnotic like you said) it's not a problem.

I was just pushing a little bit my family when I began Keto, and even sometimes I repeat this tyranic behavior, it's far less harsh now, and so I think it played the changes.

I wasn't insinuating you were.

Good that you have the other information. I think your approach is rational, and a good recipe for success. IMHO!

Well, I was a vegetarian for 18 years, and I had the same reaction as she did the first time I tried steak! It was literally overwhelming the amount of flavor that came with every bite, something I had been missing for many years. So I would say that it is authentic--or, at least it could be.
