What are you listening to?

Lauryn Hill / Forgive Them Father

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us
Although them again we will never, never, never trust

Forgive them father for they know not what they do

Beware the false motives of others
Be careful of those who pretend to be brothers
And you never suppose it's those who are closest to you, to you
They say all the right things to gain their position
Then use your kindness as their ammunition
To shoot you down in the name of ambition, they do

Why every Indian wanna be the chief?
Feed a man 'til he's full and he still want beef
Give me grief, try to tief off my piece
Why for you to increase, I must decrease?
If I treat you kindly does it mean that I'm weak?
You hear me speak and think I won't take it to the streets
I know enough cats that don't turn the other cheek
But I try to keep it civilized like Menelik
And other African czars observing stars with war scars
Get yours in this capitalistic system
So many caught or got bought you can't list them
How you gonna idolize the missing?
To survive is to stay alive in the face of opposition
Even when they comin' gunnin'
I stand position
L's known the mission since conception
Let's free the people from deception
If you looking for the answers
Then you gotta ask the questions
And when I let go, my voice echoes through the ghetto
Sick of men trying to pull strings like Geppetto
Why black people always be the ones to settle
March through these streets like Soweto

Like Cain and Abel, Caesar and Brutus, Jesus and Judas,
Backstabbers do this

Forgive them father for they know not what they do

It took me a little while to discover
Wolves in sheep coats who pretend to be lovers
Men who lack conscience will even lie to themselves, to themselves
A friend once said, and I found to be true
That everyday people, they lie to God too
So what makes you think, that they won't lie to you

Forgive them father for they know not what they do
Forgive them, forgive them

She's onto the "Wolves in sheep coats who pretend to be lovers
Men who lack conscience will even lie to themselves"

STOP THE CAVALRY - JONA LEWIE

Hey, Mr. Churchill comes over here
To say we're doing splendidly.
But it's very cold out here in the snow
Marching to and from the enemy.
Oh I say it's tough, I have had enough,
Can you stop the cavalry?

I have had to fight almost every night,
Down throughout these centuries.
That is when I say, oh yes yet again,
Can you stop the cavalry?

Mary Bradley waits at home,
In the nuclear fallout zone.
Wish I could be dancing now,
In the arms of the girl I love.

Wish I was at home for Christmas.

Bang goes another bomb on another town
While the Czar and Jim have tea.
If I get home, live to tell the tale,
I'll run for all presidencies.
If I get elected I'll stop
I will stop the cavalry.

Recently discovered Van Tsanto team and fell in love with them!
Guys sing wonderful music in the style of a cappella and drums, all guitars and keyboards performed their voice! Sounds Awesome!
Remembered information about the Druids and their construction technology Stonehenge may have keys))

Also their track the mission, it inspires me every day!

The mission

For years and years we waited
And now the time has come
To leave these barren lands
Towards (new) horizons

No matter what happened
And what was said or done
Words are to be to forgotten.
We will roan on!

We cross the gates of darknees
Into the black of night
We don't fear anybody
(We) got the second sight.

We move a little further
Towards the borderline
Before the dawn of day
Our souls came back to life
And life comes back again

The mission's to fight to be free again
To stand our ground and to be immortal
This is our mission so here we stand
We have to right to be ourself again.

They held us down for so long
Our backs against the wall
We didn't see a future,
Did not hear the call

But now that things have changed
Now that our fears are small
We create a vision
(And we) got the second sight.

We move a little further
Towards the borderline
Before the dawn of day
our souls come back to life.
And all I see, in front of me.
Every step I take is bringing me closer to me!

All that we are is everything we've ever been.
And what we'll be is what we are

Lauryn Hill- I get out ( not sure if someone has already mentioned this, apologies if so)

I get out, I get out of all your boxes
I get out, you can't hold me in these chains
I'll get out
Father free me from this bondage
Knowin' my condition
Is the reason I must change

[Verse 1]
Your stinkin' resolution
Is no type of solution
Preventin' me from freedom
Maintainin' your pollution
I won't support your lie no more
I won't even try no more
If I have to die, oh Lord
That's how I choose to live
I won't be compromised no more
I can't be victimised no more
I just don't sympathize no more
Cause now I understand
You just wanna use me
You say "love" then abuse me
You never thought you'd loose me
But how quickly we forget
That nothin' is for certain
You thought I'd stay here hurtin'
Your guilt trip's just not workin'
Repressin' me to death
Cause now I'm choosin' life, yo
I take the sacrifice, yo
If everything must go, then go
That's how I choose to live

[Pause]

[Singing rest of Verse 1]
That's how I choose to live...
Hehehehe, awhh
No more compromises
I see past your disguises
Blindin' through mind control
Stealin' my eternal soul
Appealin' through material
To keep me as your slave

[Singing Chorus]
But I get out
Oh, I get out of all your boxes
I get out
Oh, you can't hold me in these chains
I'll get out
Oh, I want out of social bondage
Knowin' my condition
Oh, is the reason I must change

[Singing Verse 2]
See, what you see is what you get
Oh, and you ain't seen nothin' yet
Oh, I don't care if you're upset
I could care less if you're upset
See it don't change the truth
And your hurt feeling's no excuse
To keep me in this box
Psychological locks
Repressin' true expression
Cementin' this repression
Promotin' mass deception
So that no one can be healed
I don't respect your system
I won't protect your system
When you talk I don't listen
Oh, let my Father's will be done

[Singing Chorus]
And just get out
Oh, just get out of all these bondage
Just get out
Oh, you can't hold me in chains
Just get out
All these traditions killin' freedom
Knowin' my condition
Is the reason I must change

[Singing Verse 3]
I've just accepted what you said
Keepin' me among the dead
The only way to know
Is to walk then learn and grow
But faith is not your speed
Oh, you've had everyone believed
That you're the sole authority
Just follow the majority
Afraid to face reality
The system is a joke
Oh, you'd be smart to save your soul
Oh, when escape is mind control
You spent your life in sacrifice
To a system for the dead
Oh, are you sure...
Where is the passion in this living
Are you sure it's God you servin'
Obligated to a system
Getting less then you're deserving
Who made up these schools, I say
Who made up these rules, I say
Animal conditioning
Oh, just to keep us as a slave

I'm winning at online poker (for play money) and listening to 'my' stream on a commercial service, which I won't promote here, for free (I don't mind the ads). If you haven't found one of these services already, you haven't looked. It's like a radio station, but you can program it to suit your own musical preferences.

I Won't Back Down - Tom Petty
Small Town - John Mellencamp
Knockin' On Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan
In Memory of Elizabeth Reed - The Allman Brothers Band
Jack A Roe - The Grateful Dead
It Must Have Been the Roses - Jerry Garcia
Let's Spend the Night Together - The Jerry Garcia Band

I beat all of these play money games so thoroughly that I'm seriously thinking about playing for real money. I had over $13m at one game before it went offline, and about $1.3m at another before its Java applet stopped working with the IcedTea Java plugin under Linux. So then I installed WINE and downloaded the Windows client at another website, and now I'm up about $30k in appoximately one week of fooling around with $1/$2 blinds Texas Hold-em for play money. Real money must be harder.

Band of Brothers - Michael Kamen (it's a horrible shame that music is used to glorify war)
Rudy Film Score - Jerry Goldsmith
Dances With Wolves - John Barry
Forrest Gump - Alan Silvestri (I'm bored with film scores, so I'll kick the machine out of this rut)

That worked...

Hide Away - Stevie Ray Vaughn
Can't You See - The Marshall Tucker Band
Layla - Eric Clapton

Preludes for Piano, Opus No. 23 - Rachmaninov (my cats seem to like to listen to classical music)
Etudes for Piano, Opus No. 25 - Chopin
Consolations for Piano - Liszt

Bertha - The Grateful Dead
Gold Dust Woman - Fleetwood Mac (Stevie Nicks could play Laura in the movie)
Can't Find My Way Home - Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood
Ripple - Jerry Garcia

Coal Miner's Daughter - Loretta Lynn ("nothin' lives here anymore..." - she got that right)
I'm Sorry - Brenda Lee
Blue - LeAnn Rimes

On the Turning Away - Pink Floyd
Breathe - David Gilmour

Mary Jane's Last Dance - Tom Petty
Wild Horses - The Rolling Stones

Vayan Al Norte - Eliza Gilkyson
Travelin' Soldier - Dixie Chicks (these women were vilified for opposing war - buy their music!)

Dry River - James McMurtry (some day it's gonna rain, some day it's gonna pour...)
Red Dress - James McMurtry and The Heartless Bastards

and so on...

I was doing a remembering exercise, and some music of the time came up. Mixed bag of programming and rebellion to keep "source" alive.

From 1983.

Barely audible lyrics in the first track of their first breaking album (the rest of the album and band were terrible but they went on to make millions).

In the beginning
Good always overpowered the evils
Of all man's sins...
But in time
The nations grew weak
And our cities fell to slums
While evil stood strong
In the dusts of hell
Lurked the blackest of hates
For he whom they feared
Awaited them... Now many many lifetimes later
Lay destroyed, beaten, beaten down,
Only the corpses of rebels
Ashes of dreams
And blood stained streets
It has been written
"Those who have the youth
Have the future"
So come now, children of the beast
Be strong
And Shout at the Devil
