Amazing pick zin. I heard this song on the radio a few times and it's got an amazing harmony and interesting lyrics!

Now another Spoon song which makes me think of a message to the STS/psychopaths:

"The Underdog"

Picture yourself in the living room
Your pipe and slippers set out for you
I know you think that it ain't too far

But I hear the call of a lifetime ring
Felt the need to get up for it
Oh you cut out the middleman
Get free from the middleman

You got no time for the messenger,
Got no regard for the thing that you don't understand,
You got no fear of the underdog,
That's why you will not survive!

I want to forget how conviction fits
But can I get out from under it?
Can I gut it out of me?
It can't all be wedding cake
It can't all be boiled away
I try but I can't let go of it
Can't let go of it,

Cause you don't talk to the water boy
And there's so much you could learn but you don't want to know,
You will not back up an inch ever,
That's why you will not survive,

The thing that I tell you now
It may not go over well
And it may not be photo-op
In the way that I spell it out

But you won't hear from the messenger,
Don't wanna know bout something that you don't understand,
You got no fear of the underdog,
That's why you will not survive! (Hey!)

Aye, I'm pretty new to spoon.

I download a lot of random stuff and sync it into my iphone and let random tunes find me on shuffle. (kind of like my own quality controlled radio station, as the local FM standards around these parts play music that are spiritually entropic.)

Thanks for posting another song from this band for me to discover.

I recently heard two songs that I really like, one is by country singer Sam Hunt - Take your Time (_https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXi6IHFHeIA) and I really liked how he describes unconditional love. It made me think of an 'STO approach to dating', which was a silly thought in an of itself. The video is also really cute.

then there's this one (_https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqbisJH4pHs) which I heard in cute little video which was a trailer/music video for the 2014 film The Way He Looks about a blind gay teenager in Brazil.

They're both sappy love songs, but I like em, so there. :D

For the last two weeks "The Snowbird" as sung by Liv Maessen in 1970 has been running through my brain like a meme. Liv had the most stunning voice.

You can listen to her here:

the lyrics are over here:

The funny thing is, it's not even winter yet!

Apple Suckling Tree by Bob Dylan and the Band

-----------------------------------------------------

Afraid of singing out of time and/or tune with others? If so, then maybe this is song for you :). Great knockabout singalong - lyrics below.

Under that apple suckling tree, oh yeah!
Under that apple suckling tree, oh yeah!
Underneath that tree
There's just gonna be you and me
Under that apple suckling tree, oh yeah!

Old man down and caught and hooked down there
Old man down and caught and hooked down there
Old man down and caught and hooked
Line up baby, y'all take a look
Old man down and caught and hooked down there.

Under that apple suckling tree, oh yeah!
Under that apple suckling tree, oh yeah!
Underneath that tree
There's just gonna be you and me
Underneath that apple suckling tree oh yeah!

Now I wish to my soul I had seven years, uh-huh
Now I wish to my soul I had seven years, uh-huh
Hey, if I fall on your buryin' ground
Didn't catch your name, but he had a hound
Bad on down there on the avenue, oh yeah

Under that apple suckling tree, oh yeah!
Under that apple suckling tree, oh yeah!
Underneath that tree
There's just gonna be you and me
Underneath that apple suckling tree, oh yeah!

Under that apple suckling tree, oh yeah!
Under that apple suckling tree, oh yeah!
Underneath that tree
There's just gonna be you and me
Underneath that apple suckling tree oh yeah!

Incubus - When It Comes

It's coming around again
They're letting it out again, again X4

When it comes, it comes abrupt
And it feels, it feels like trading brains with an imbecile
For real

Yes I feel emphatic about not being static
And not buying philosophies that are sold to me, no, at a steal

Just when you thought, it was safe to think
In comes mental piracy, and NO

What I'm looking for (for)
Can not be sold to me
I wish they all would stop trying
Cuz what I want, and what I need, is and will always BE FREE

It's coming around again
They're letting it out again, again X2

When it comes, it comes unannounced
And it feels like a matador is taunting me with his reddest red cloth
And I am the bull

Yes I feel emphatic about not being static
And not eating the bullshit that's being fed to me
Cuz now I'm full

Just when you thought, it was safe to think
In comes mental piracy, and NO!

What I'm looking for (for)
Can not be sold to me
I wish they all would stop trying
Cuz what I want, and what I need, is and will always BE FREE

It's coming around again
They're letting it out again, again

:headbanger:

It was one of my favourite songs during my teenage years

Metallica- Nothing else matter

sToRmR1dR,

I really like the almost classical feel of the way Metallica mixes from the acoustic to the metal sound. My son pointed out the talent they have is almost classical in their approach to music and I agree they have many talents.
