What are you listening to?

It could refer to the whole spirit collapsing into earth deal: The fall of humanity. Like our spirits are divine LIGHT and EARTH represents the flesh; feet-on-the-ground reality. ("For dust thou art" kinda deal.) So, we have these idealized spirits that make mistakes on the earthly plane. In C's terms: You play in the dirt, you are going to get dirty.

That's certainly possible, I would imagine when this happens it will be a like roller-coaster of emotion and thoughts. So that makes sense in regards to the mixed signals being given in this song.

I always find it interesting, if uncomfortable at times, to see my own chosen interpretation that suits my needs and level of understanding of myself and the world at a given stage of development versus actually coming to terms with what is really being said. Sometimes my level of awareness is just not equal to the task or to the level of the performer. Sometimes it is staring me right in the face and I just don't see it. Or, am not ready to see it. Or, I kind of know it but don't want to face it. It is often all about those buffers that keep us from being too shocked all at once so we can still function on our way. Have to gradually strip them away. Perhaps that is a luxury of intentionally working on prying our eyes open. The light does not pour in and cause too much blinding pain all at once as it reveals certain harsh realities. Like taking a small sip of whiskey or cheap tequila as opposed to a big gulp that makes you cough explosively and burns out your guts. Sigh...

I'm seeing this occurring in my life more and more. It's interesting because where I am up to in the transcripts they've just touched on this.

(F) This will come to us step-bystep.
(J) It doesn't really matter. (L) It does matter because they say
that knowledge protects. This is knowledge. (F) I know, but you can't
get it all at once.
Look how much you have acquired in the last three
years, the last eight months. You are so impatient. You expect to
have your mind totally input with all of this and then to go back and
have fun with your children, eating popcorn and watching movies. It
wouldn't work that way. This is what you would be like if you had all
this knowledge at once. [Demonstrates extreme spasticity.
Laughter.] Is that what you want? (T) Yeah, the kids would get their
popcorn and sit around and watch mom! Better than a movie. (F)
The rest of your existence in 3rd density would consist of eh-eh-eheh-
eh-eh!!! [Laughter]

I often get frustrated with myself for not being able to see what is right in front of me. It will all come when it is meant to, this I'm sure of, though I still get frustrated haha.

Thanks, Darek for a new flavor of music. I play mostly on a classical style guitar and the one pictured in the video is a modern version that uses nylon strings but has a distinctive sound. The voices, rhythms seem so balanced and calm but stay interesting with improvisation of the instruments.

I have mixed feelings about this thread, frankly. The subject IS "What are you listening to" and is basically an invitation for everyone to share a slice of their immediate life, i.e., what are you doing at the moment? It also gives me a little insight into any given individual that I can compare to the several remarks the Cs have made about music/sound. For example, if a person writes that they are having certain issues in their lives, I may quickly check over their posting history and find an entry here that adds perspective so that I can better help them.

In general, I like classical art, flowing lines, flowing sounds, melodic progressions in music, etc. Maybe this says something about me and my connection to the Cs? Maybe other peoples' liking for "Metal" music and other sound types/progressions says something about their issues too? So, trying to do more than just share on this thread might create false impressions?

Having said that, perhaps a different thread could be opened to analyze music and talk about "objective music" and such and just leave this one alone for simple sharing.

I agree completely, music analysis - analysis of personality perhaps?
Music and personality I think are closely related

I like a lot of different styles of music, from noisy primitive rock, to cheesy pop, to intelligent beautiful classical music etc. etc. (almost all genres of music has at least one song I like) though I'm at the same time very particular about what I like and don't like, so it's not at all the same as liking all music.

I don't know if it says I'm flexible, or that I maybe have split personality(s)...

I agree that a lot can be said about a person due to what they like, (to like something I guess is to recognize some of it inside one self)
Though I think sometimes music can be like a theater play, or a circus performance, talking about something that is a parody of something that one has observed (inside or outside one self), and so one think it is funny.....If I for example listen to heavy metal, it makes me giggle the same way as this excellent scene from Lilo and Stitch, so my mood will be more as the laughing audience than the "aaaggggghhhh, haaaaate, destroyyyyyy" that the music "says":

(just my 2 cents)

I like some metal music, I think because I can be inspired by the power and strength in it. It reminds me of nature; storms, mountains, forces at play. Maybe it's related to ones' surroundings; I read somewhere that the northern countries have a disproportionally large fraction of the population who like metal music. Maybe it's a climate thing, that the cold dark winters look as metal music sounds.
I remember the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan explain that he thought that his style of playng with his band came from the sounds of industry; steam trains, oil pumps and the like, machines that had a repetitive rythm to it.

Before I was in to:

country, heartbreaking songs and singer like Lara Fabian or Julio Iglesias ( :-[ ), something that brings me sad memories (my program of suffering is maybe the biggest in me, runs in the family).
Also, because I was thinking that I'm so spiritual - native Indian music and Enya and Enigma.

Now I cannot feel a food, music, people, so work is in progress and this thread is very precious (ooooh my preciousssssss) because I can search my new music to love from your lists.

In response to music types and 'reading' into the authors' intent, I posit it is yet another variation of nature.

Let the good times roll
Let them knock you around
Let the good times roll
Let them make you a clown

Let them leave you up in the air
Let them brush your rock and roll hair

Let the good times roll
Let the good times roll
Let the good times roll

Let the stories be told
They can say what they want
Let the photos be old
Let them show what they want

Let them leave you up in the air
Let them brush your rock and roll hair
Let the good times roll
Let the good times roll-oll
Won't you let the good times roll

Good times roll

If the illusion is real
Let them give you a ride
If they got thunder appeal
Let them be on your side

Let them leave you up in the air
Let them brush your rock and roll hair
Let the good times roll
Won't you let the good times roll-oll
Let the good times roll

Let the good times roll
Won't you let the good times roll
Well let the good times roll
Let 'em roll (good times roll)

Let the good times roll
Let the good times roll
Ooo let the good times roll
Let 'em roll (good times roll)

Well, let the good times roll
(Let the good times roll)
Well let the good times roll
Good times roll
(Let the good times roll)
Let the good times roll
Let 'em roll

With that in mind maybe we should just specify no comments so we just sample the music? I'm OK either way. I don't see much in the way of comments except sporadically here and there.

P.S.

This could be a kind of "mood ring" (an old popular ring that changed colors from body heat that was supposed to show the mood of the wearer) of music for how we are feeling from time to time.

Thank you Darek, this is so very beautiful. I love folk music, guitars and choirs. African melodies are magical. :flowers:

My favorite folk singer is our Siberian artist Pelagea, here is a version with English subtitles, hope you like it too:

Cool :) in that case, I like a little bit of almost everything, except metal. I actually love r'n'b the most. Especially the r'n'b songs by females in the industry that give me a sense of empowerment. Also (obviously), I really enjoy songs similar to the two that I've posted on this thread (9 Crimes & Collapse The Light Into Earth).

This would have to be one of my absolute favourites at the moment..

Jarryd James - Do You Remember.

When did we lose our way?
Easier to let it go.. (mmm..)
So many can't tell anybody
Harder to let you know...

Call me when you've made up your mind but you won't
Caught up in the way that you played my heart
If only love could ever hit this hard

Oh, don't be scared about it
Don't forget it was real..
Do you remember the way it made you feel?
Do you remember the things it let you feel?

How do I make you stay..
When it's easier to let you go?
Nobody knows what we know about it
No one needs to know

Call me when you've made up your mind but you won't
Caught up in a way that you played my heart
If only love could ever hit this hard

Oh, don't be scared about it
Don't forget it was real..
Do you remember the way it made you feel?
Do you remember the things it let you feel?

When you love to your limit
You gave all you're given
Who you gonna pray to when you're there?
Will you find out that there ain't no other love
No other love for you

Oh, don't be scared about it
Don't forget it was real..
Do you remember the way it made you feel?
Do you remember the things it let you feel?

Oh, when you think about it
Do you remember me?
Do you remember the way it made you feel?
Do you remember the things it let you feel?
