What are you listening to?

Il Mondo by Jimmy Fontana

No, stanotte amore
Non ho più pensato a te
Ho aperto gli occhi
Per guardare intorno a me
E intorno ha me
Girava il mondo come sempre

Gira, il mondo gira
Nello spazio senza fine
Con gli amori appena nati
Con gli amori già finiti
Con la gioia e col dolore
Della gente come me

Un mondo
Soltanto adesso, io ti guardo
Nel tuo silenzio io mi perdo
E sono niente accanto a te

Il mondo
Non si é fermato mai un momento
La notte insegue sempre il giorno
Ed il giorno verrà

Gira, il mondo gira
Nello spazio senza fine
Con gli amori appena nati
Con gli amori già finiti
Con la gioia e col dolore
Della gente come me

Un mondo
Soltanto adesso, io ti guardo
Nel tuo silenzio io mi perdo
E sono niente accanto a te

Il mondo
Non si é fermato mai un momento
La notte insegue sempre il giorno
Ed il giorno verrà

Oh Il mondo

Il mondo
Non si é fermato mai un momento
La notte insegue sempre il giorno
Ed il giorno verrà

Stanotte amore non ho più pensato a te
Stanotte amore non ho più pensato a te
Stanotte amore non ho più pensato a te
Pensato a te

Eärwen, this make me want to see the move which from the trailer looks like it's be a real good movie to see! Thank you for sharing it out! :flowers:

Heimdallr, The words to the song you've shared are meaningful, I've not hear of her before but am going to try and find more from her to listen to! Thank you for sharing it out, I enjoyed it very much! She kinda makes me think of Tori Amos.

You can listen to the song with lyrics onscreen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LM9FjL9wYxQ

I agree, I think the lyrics are very deep and meaningful. Her voice is beautiful too, she is really worth checking out!

Heimdallr, I was just doing some further digging for her. Yeah, I agree her voice is also something wonderful! Thank you for the link and adding a smile to my day! :flowers: This is my new great music find for the day! ;)

The cover song for The Eagles album Long Road Out of Eden - its a mighty fine album. This song even mentions meeting the ghost of Caeser on the Appian Way...ha...ha....a powerful and wonderful song.
Some say that this song is a protest song to the war of Iraq but I see it as a song about the way that society is changing. A masterpiece even if The Eagles are a little mainstream I love 'em.

"Long Road Out Of Eden"

Moon shining down through the palms
Shadows moving on the sand
Somebody whispering the twenty-third psalm
Dusty rifle in his trembling hands

Somebody trying just to stay alive
He got promises to keep
Over the ocean in america
Far away and fast asleep

Silent stars blinking in the blackness of an endless sky
Cold silver satellites, ghostly caravans passing by
Galaxies unfolding, new worlds being born
Pilgrims and prodigals creeping toward the dawn
But it's a long road out of eden

Music blasting from an suv
On a bright and sunny day
Rolling down the interstate
In the good ol' usa

Having lunch at the petroleum club
Smokin' fine cigars and swappin' lives
He said: "gimme 'nother slice o' that barbecued brisket!"
"gimme 'nother piece o' that pecan pie!"

Freeways flickering, cell phones chiming a tune
We're riding to utopia, road map says we'll be arriving soon
Captains of the old order clinging to the reins
Assuring us these aches inside are only growing pains
But it's a long road out of eden

Back home i was so certain
The path was very clear
But now i have to wonder: "what are we doing here?"
I'm not counting on tomorrow
And i can't tell wrong from right
But i'd give anything to be there in your arms tonight

Weaving down the american highway
Through the litter and the wreckage and the cultural junk
Bloated with entitlement, loaded on propaganda
And now we're driving dazed and drunk

Been down the road to damascus,
The road to mandalay
Met the ghost of caesar on the appian way
He said, "it's hard to stop this bingeing, once you get a taste."
"but the road to empire is a bloody stupid waste."

Behold the bitten apple - the power of the tools
But all the knowledge in the world is of no use to fools
And it's a long road out of eden....

Ben Howard - The Fear

"The Fear"

My, my, cold-hearted child, tell me how you feel
Just a blade in the grass, a spoke unto the wheel
Oh, my, my, cold-hearted child, tell me where it's all gone
All the luster of your bones, those arms that held you strong

Oh, I've been worryin' that my time is a little unclear
I've been worryin' that I'm losing the ones I hold dear
I've been worryin' that we all live our lives in the confines of fear

Oh, my, my, cold-hearted child, tell me how you feel
Just a grain in the morning air, dark shadow on the hill
Oh, my, my, cold-hearted child, tell me where it all falls
All this apathy you feel will make a fool of us all

Oh, I've been worryin' that my time is a little unclear
I've been worryin' that I'm losing the ones I hold dear
I've been worryin' that we all live our lives in the confines of fear

Oh, I will become what I deserve
Oh, I will become what I deserve
Oh, I will become what I deserve
Oh, I will become what I deserve

I've been worryin', I've been worryin',
I will become what I deserve
I've been worryin',
My time is a little unclear
I will become what I deserve

I've been worryin', I've been worryin'
That my time is a little unclear
I've been worryin', I've been worryin'
That I'm losing the ones I hold dear
I've been worryin', I've been worryin'
That we all live our lives in the confines of fear

:D

It's from the movie I like it a lot, the name of the movie is "About Time" it is a 2013 British sci-fi comedy-drama about a young man with the special ability to time travel who tries to change his past in order to improve his future. :P

And for today:

River of Sorrow by Antony and The Johnsons

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmOy3YptFTc

There is a black river
It passes by my window
And late at night
All dolled up like Christ
I walk the water
Between the piers

Singing
Oh
River of sorrow
River of time, river
River of sorrow
Don't swallow this time

For we all know the baby has expired
Long ago she was pulled from the mire
And no precious liar or well-wisher
Can return the love that was stolen

Oh
River of sorrow
River of time, river
River of sorrow
Don't swallow this time

Can you see the light
At the end of the dark passageway
Take me wit you towads this light
Into the darkness passing over the faces in the river
Hear me!
I'm whispering in your ear!

Oh
River of sorrow
Oh, river of time
River of sorrow
Don't swallow this time

Oh
River of sorrow
Oh, river of time
River of sorrow
Don't swallow this time

And then this Hawaiian traditional music (?) - the dances are of note. They may not be the spear-armed Maruts but the dances are funky and the man singing with percussion is incredible. My newest favourites

Pensato a te
