What are you listening to?

This is one of my favorite songs of all time and I can't help but think to thank everyone that has made this forum and Sott possible. It is hard to imagine where I might be today if I wasn't for finding Sott those many years ago - lost seems the only word for it.

You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness I'm in debt to you
For your selflessness, my admiration
And for everything you've done

You know I'm bound...
I'm bound to thank you for it

You've been so kind and generous
I don't know how you keep on giving
For your kindness I'm in debt to you
And I never could have come this far without you
So for everything you've done

You know I'm bound...
I'm bound to thank you for it

I want to thank you
For so many gifts
You gave with love and tenderness
I want to thank you

I want to thank you
For your generosity
The love and the honesty
That you gave me

I want to thank you
Show my gratitude
My love and my respect for you
I want to thank you

I want to...

Thank you

Bear, your post was very touching to me. I never listened to that Natalie Merchant song so closely as you so appropriately applied it.

Here's to you and the forum.

"You've Got A Friend"

When you're down and troubled and you need a helping hand
and nothing, whoa, nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there
to brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call and I'll be there, yeah, yeah,
you've got a friend.

If the sky above you should turn dark and full of clouds
and that old north wind should begin to blow,
keep your head together and call my name out loud.
Soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call and I'll be there.

Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend? People can be so cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you. Well, they'll take your soul if you let them,
oh yeah, but don't you let them.

You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call, Lord, I'll be there, yeah, yeah,
you've got a friend. You've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend. Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
Oh, yeah, yeah, you've got a friend.

James is a bit older but still a nice man who signs autographs at intermission without taking a break.

No more heroes - The Stranglers

Whatever happened to Leon Trotsky?
He got an ice pick
That made his ears burn

Whatever happened to dear old Lenny?
The great Elmyra,
And Sancho Panza?

Whatever happened to the heroes?
Whatever happened to the heroes?

Whatever happened to all the heroes?
All the Shakespearoes?
They watched their Rome burn

Whatever happened to the heroes?
Whatever happened to the heroes?
No more heroes any more
No more heroes any more

Whatever happened to all the heroes?
All the Shakespearoes?
They watched their Rome burn

Whatever happened to the heroes?
Whatever happened to the heroes?
No more heroes any more
No more heroes any more
No more heroes any more
No more heroes any more

At the moment listening lot of classical music like:
Aram Khachaturian - Spartacus - Adagio - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=of5ebCY5__Q
and my favourite:
Ralph Vaughan Williams - Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0U6sWqfrnTs
buy I found something interesting of contemporary indie music:
Lovestain - José González

You left a lovestain on my heart
And you left a bloodstain on the ground
But blood comes off easily

But blood comes off easily

You left a lovestain on my heart
And you left a bloodstain on the ground
But blood comes off easily

But blood comes off easily
