What are you listening to?

Came across this older Neil Young song, and now he would have to add in Bayer.

"Monsanto Years"
You never know what the future holds in the shallow soil of Monsanto, Monsanto
The moon is full and the seeds are sown while the farmer toils for Monsanto, Monsanto
When these seeds rise they're ready for the pesticide
And Roundup comes and brings the poison tide of Monsanto, Monsanto

The farmer knows he's got to grow what he can sell, Monsanto, Monsanto
So he signs a deal for GMOs that makes life hell with Monsanto, Monsanto
Every year he buys the patented seeds
Poison-ready they're what the corporation needs, Monsanto

When you shop for your daily bread and walk the aisles of Safeway, Safeway
Find the package to catch your eye that makes you smile at Safeway, at Safeway
Choose a picture of an old red barn on a field of green
With the farmer and his wife and children to complete the scene at Safeway, at Safeway

Dreams of the past come flooding back to the farmer's mind, his mother and father
Family seeds they used to save were gifts from God, not Monsanto, Monsanto
Their own child grows ill near the poisoned crops
While they work on, they can't find an easy way to stop, Monsanto, Monsanto

Don't care now what the Bible said so long ago not Monsanto, Monsanto
Give us this day our daily bread and let us not go with Monsanto, Monsanto
The seeds of life are not what they once were
Mother Nature and God don't own them anymore

Also, another one of his tunes reflected on Pres-Bush many years ago:

Let's Impeach the President - Neil Young

Let's impeach the President for lying
And misleading our country into war
Abusing all the power that we gave him
And shipping all our money out the door

He's the man who hired all the criminals
The White House shadows who hide behind closed doors
They bend the facts to fit with their new stories
Of why we have to send our men to war

Let's impeach the President for spying
On citizens inside their own homes
Breaking every law in the country
By tapping our computers and telephones

What if Al Qaeda blew up the levees
Would New Orleans have been safer that way
Sheltered by our government's protection
Or was someone just not home that day?

Flip - Flop
Flip - Flop
Flip - Flop
Flip - Flop

Let's impeach the president for hijacking
Our religion and using it to get elected
Dividing our country into colors
And still leaving black people neglected

This is a very long piano piece, but I was spellbound by it. From the very beginning it feels like a bombardment of chords and keys and scales drifting back and forth over one another like a weave made of rushing wind and water.

a poem of Baudelaire made into music

another poem of baudelaire "L'Heautontimoroumenos"

Je te frapperai sans colère
Et sans haine, comme un boucher,
Comme Moïse le rocher !
Et je ferai de ta paupière,

Pour abreuver mon Saharah,
Jaillir les eaux de la souffrance.
Mon désir gonflé d'espérance
Sur tes pleurs salés nagera

Comme un vaisseau qui prend le large,
Et dans mon cœur qu'ils soûleront
Tes chers sanglots retentiront

English translation :

No rage, no rancor: I shall beat you as butchers fell an ox, as Moses smote the rock in Horeb- I shall make you weep, and by the waters of affliction my desert will be slaked. My desire, that hope has made monstrous, will frolic in your tears as a ship tosses on the ocean- in my besotted heart your adorable sobs will echo like an ecstatic drum. For I - am I not a dissonance in the divine accord, because of the greedy Irony which infiltrates my soul? I hear it in my voice - that shrillness, that poison in my blood! I am the sinister glass in which the Fury sees herself! I am the knife and the wound it deals, I am the slap and the cheek, I am the wheel and the broken limbs, hangman and victim both! I am the vampire at my own veins, one of the great lost horde doomed for the rest of my time, and beyond, 'to laugh - and smile no more'

I'm every woman,
It's all in me
Anything you want done, baby,
I'll do it naturally
I'm every woman,
It's all in me
I can read your thoughts right now,
Every one from A to Z
Whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa, whoa
I can cast a spell,
Of secrets you can't tell,
Mix a special brew,
Put fire inside of you
Anytime you feel danger or fear,
Then instantly
I will appear 'cause
I'm every woman,
It's all in me
Anything you want done, baby,
I'll do it naturally

I can sense your needs
Like rain unto the seeds
I can make a rhyme
Of confusion in your mind
And when it comes down to some good old-fashioned love,
That's what I've got baby, 'cause
I'm every woman,
It's all in me
I can read your thoughts right now,
Every one from A to Z

I ain't braggin' 'cause I am the one
You just ask me, oo, it shall be done
And don't bother to compare,
I've got it (I've got it)
