What are you listening to?

Another classic from Betty. She only made 3 records then went off into her privacy. Fair do's to her, she played the game on her own terms, and never went lame. She gave Prince and Madonna plenty of ideas for sure.

A very nice song, that reminds me the people of this forum. El Arrebato, "La gente luminosa". (the luminous people)

I stay with the one who cares for me
I stay with the one who values me
Who makes me laugh
And laughs with me no matter the hour

I'll stick with the one who listens to my venting
With the one who looks out for my good
Who stays with me no matter what

I'll stay with the one who asks me to put me a whatsapp when you arrive
And is happier than I am
If I had a lucky break

I'm left with the magic of a shared tear
I'll keep the one who helped me find my way out of here

How beautiful she is
The luminous people
The one who dances just for the sake of it
The one who smiles all the time

The one you breathe slowly with
The one who gives you the gift of time
And if one day she doesn't have it she makes it for you

I'll stay with the one who lights up
Light bulbs on my path
Brings out the good in me
And makes me feel alive

I'll keep the one who asks me to put me a whatsapp when you arrive
And he's happier than I am
If I had a lucky break

I'll take that magic of a shared tear
I'll keep the one who helped me find that exit

How beautiful she is
The luminous people
The one who dances just for the sake of it
The one who smiles all the time

The one you breathe slowly with
The one who gives you the gift of time
And if one day she doesn't have it she makes it for you

How beautiful she is
The luminous people
The one that doesn't care about the brand of your clothes

The one who puts joy
Always on their menu of the day
People who light up the world
Beautiful people like you

People who do what they feel even if they tremble
Who stick their tongue out at life, no harm no foul
And if the tide comes in they won't let go of your hand
People who chase away the dark clouds
Because she has the power of light

How beautiful they are
The luminous people
The one who dances for the sake of it
The one that smiles all the time

With whom you breathe slowly
The one who gives you the gift of time
And if one day she doesn't have it, she makes it for you

How beautiful she is (how beautiful she is)
The luminous people
The one who doesn't care about the brand of your clothes

The one who puts joy
Always on their menu of the day
People who light up the world
Beautiful people like you

People who have the power of light.

Armand Amar (born 1953)

French of Moroccan origin (born in Jerusalem), Armand Amar spent his childhood in Morocco. Imbued with the sounds of instruments considered exotic at the time, the pull of that “world apart” exercised by extra-European music soon fascinated him. Autodidact, he was constantly searching for physical experiences in the early years of his musical apprenticeship, whereas in the following years his search became a commitment; he learned to play tablas, discovered the zarb and congas, and studied under various masters of traditional and classical music.

Here's an album my brother gave me in the 9th or 10th grade which reminded me of the Moody Blues (one of my favorite groups) only somewhat darker and more intense. One of their songs 'What Love' I found particularly intense and haunting but at the same time overall harmonious which I'm sure is not an easy task. I don't like the video collage in the below video since I find it too "leading" and hypnotic and I don't look at it while listening (but that's just me!). I like the album cover though. I guess if the deep subconscious sung a song about what we call "love" it might sound something like this song. Harmoniously discordant. :)

Just listened to this well known one, but here, contrary to what i'm used to know, it's "The Lion sleeps tonight", when i was used to hear, in french, "Le Lion est mort ce soir", which is in english "The Lion died tonight".
