What are you listening to?

It's all so very interesting - i know what you mean by something "subtly creepy".

Is that creepy thing like truly something objectively creepy, or is it a feeling generated by us being aware that something we thought of as uniquely human is being done effortlessly by something we know to be artificial. For me that's how I am explaining that feeling - imagine AI got so good that you can make whole movies with artificial actors and stories you literally dream up 😳 (i.e. no need for Hollywood or learning actual film-craft etc)

I don't know... all I know is once upon a time people could only get from a to b quickly with a horse and now we have cars, planes etc. That must have been uniquely creepy? Or is it not the same thing?!?!?

Whoops I didn't mean to post this.. I had drafted it yesterday and thought I had deleted 😭😭

Don't worry... :-) I think it's relevant that we share these concerns. There is such a huge "new" artificial influence in all our lives and we are called to learn to discern. From my view, music and all the other arts (writing, architecture, dance, sculpture, painting, etc.) should lift the soul. AI cannot do that, no matter how sophisticated. Timótheos said, "it's without soul." That's how I sense it too.

It's still my favorite combination of violin and piano.
Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata, Op. 47.
Powerful and beautiful, sad yet hopeful.

Lately I've been listening to Lately, but other songs on the album (ANGELS&GHOSTS) are also good...

Love the message in this track, my take is it’s about being more genuine and growing and learning from past mistakes. A modern metal/rock band president, song is called fearless

I heard this on the radio driving home from work last night. As I listened to the lyrics I thought about the people I knew who "died suddenly" in the last three years. The song has new meaning for me now.

I caught you knocking
At my cellar door
I love you, baby
Can I have some more?
Ooh, ooh, the damage done

I hit the city and
I lost my band
I watched the needle
Take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done

I sing the song
Because I love the man
I know that some
Of you don't understand
Milk-blood
To keep from running out

I've seen the needle
And the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie's
Like a setting sun
