Master of Puppets by Metallica (it was posted before but without the lyrics)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJIGC90liAE

Lyrics:
End of passion play, crumbling away
I'm your source of self-destruction
Veins that pump with fear, sucking darkest clear
Leading on your deaths' construction

Bridge:
Taste me you will see
More is all you need
You're dedicated to
How I'm killing you

Come crawling faster
Obey your master
Your life burns faster
Obey your master
Master

Chorus:
Master of puppets I'm pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me, you can't see a thing
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master
Master
Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master
Master

Needlework the way, never you betray
Life of death becoming clearer
Pain monopoly, ritual misery
Chop your breakfast on a mirror

Bridge, Chorus

Master, master, where's the dreams that I've been after?
Master, master, you promised only lies
Laughter, laughter, all I hear or see is laughter
Laughter, laughter, laughing at my cries

Hell is worth all that, natural habitat
Just a rhyme without a reason
Neverending maze, drift on numbered days
Now your life is out of season

I will occupy
I will help you die
I will run through you
Now I rule you too

Bridge, Chorus

genero81, nice to see someone knows Shinedown, I was a fan for a few years from 2004 on.

Here's my Rage against the machine segment (Bold added as the reasons in the lyrics why I posted the songs)

Sleep now in the fire by Rage against the machine:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ITF4HoRZRY

The world is my expense
The cost of my desire
Jesus blessed me with its future
And I protect it with fire
So raise your fists and march around
Don't dare take what you need
I'll jail and bury those committed
And smother the rest in greed
Crawl with me into tomorrow
Or I'll drag you to your grave
I'm deep inside your children
They'll betray you in my name

Hey!
Hey!
Sleep now in the fire (x2)

The lie is my expense
The scope with my desire
The party blessed me with its future
And i protect it with fire
I am the nina, the pinta, the santa maria
The noose and the rapist, the fields overseer
The agents of orange
The priests of hiroshima
The cost of my desire
Sleep now in the fire

Hey!
Hey!
Sleep now in the fire (x2)

For it's the end of history
It's caged and frozen still
There is no other pill to take
So swallow the one
That makes you ill

The nina, the pinta, the santa maria
The noose and the rapist, the fields' overseer
The agents of orange
The priests of hiroshima
The cost of my desire
Sleep now in the fire

YEAAAH!

Sleep now in the fire! (x4)

Take the power back by Rage against the machine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APmUWC8S1_M

Yeah, the movement's in motion with mass militant poetry
Now check this out...uggh!

In the right light, study becomes insight
But the system that dissed us
Teaches us to read and write

So called facts are fraud
They want us to allege and pledge
And bow down to their God
Lost the culture, the culture lost
Spun our minds and through time
Ignorance has taken over
Yo, we gotta take the power back!

Bam! Here's the plan
Motherf*** Uncle Sam
Step back, I know who I am
Raise up your ear, I'll drop the style and clear
It's the beats and the lyrics they fear
The rage is relentless
We need a movement with a quickness
You are the witness of change
And to counteract
We gotta take the power back

Yeah, we gotta take the power back
Come on, come on!
We gotta take the power back

The present curriculum
I put my fist in 'em
Eurocentric every last one of 'em
See right through the red, white and blue disguise
With lecture I puncture the structure of lies
Installed in our minds and attempting
To hold us back
We've got to take it back
Holes in our spirit causin' tears and fears
One-sided stories for years and years and years

I'm inferior? Whose inferior?
Yeah, we need to check the interior
Of the system, who cares about only one culture
And that is why
We gotta take the power back

Yeah, we gotta take the power back
Come on, come on!
We gotta take the power back

We're gonna have to break it, break it,
break it down
Awww!

Come on, yeah! Bring it back the other way!

The teacher stands in front of the class
But the lesson plan he can't recall
The student's eyes don't perceive the lies
Bouncing off every f***ing wall
His composure is well kept
I guess he fears playing the fool
The complacent students sit and listen to some of that
Bulls*** that he learned in school

Europe ain't my rope to swing on
Can't learn a thing from it
Yet we hang from it
Gotta get it, gotta get it together then
Like the motherf***in' weathermen
To expose and close the doors on those who try
To strangle and mangle the truth
'Cause the circle of hatred continues unless we react
We gotta take the power back

Yeah, we gotta take the power back
Come on, come on!
We gotta take the power back

No more lies (x8)

Take it back y'all
Take it back, a-take it back
A-take it back y'all, come on! (x2)

Bullet in the head by Rage Against The Machine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0mmx3uJBKY

This time the bullet cold rocked ya
A yellow ribbon instead of a swastika
Nothin' proper about ya propaganda
Fools follow rules when the set commands ya
Said it was blue
When ya blood was red

That's how ya got a bullet blasted through ya head

Blasted through ya head (x2)

I give a shout out to the living dead
Who stood and watched as the feds cold centralized
So serene on the screen
You were mesmerised
Cellular phones soundin' a death tone
Corporations cold
Turn ya to stone before ya realise
They load the clip in omnicolour
Said they pack the 9, they fire it at prime time
Sleeping gas, every home was like Alcatraz
And muthaf***as lost their minds

Just victims of the in-house drive-by
They say jump, you say how high (x4)

Checka, checka, check it out
They load the clip in omnicolour
Said they pack the 9, they fire it at prime time
Sleeping gas, every home was like Alcatraz
And mutha f***as lost their minds

No escape from the mass mind rape
Play it again jack and then rewind the tape
And then play it again and again and again
Until ya mind is locked in
Believin' all the lies that they're tellin' ya
Buyin' all the products that they're sellin' ya
They say jump and ya say how high
Ya brain-dead

Ya got a f***in' bullet in ya head

Just victims of the in-house drive-by
They say jump, you say how high (x2)

Ya standin' in line
Believin' the lies
Ya bowin' down to the flag
Ya gotta bullet in ya head (x2)

A bullet in ya head (many times)

Know your enemy by Rage against the machine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4smim2MNvF8

Born with insight and a raised fist
A witness to the slit wrist, that's with
As we move into 92
Still in a room without a view
Ya got to know, Ya got to know
That when I say go, go, go
Amp up and amplify, Defy
I'm a brother with a furious mind
Action must be taken
We don't need the key
Well break in

Bridge:
Something must be done
About vengeance, a badge and a gun
Cause I'll rip the mike, rip the stage, rip the system
I was born to rage against em

Chorus:
Fist in ya face, in the place
And I'll drop the style clearly
Know your enemy... know your enemy!

Word is born
Fight the war, f*** the norm
Now I got no patience
So sick of complacence
With the D the E the F the I the A the N the C the E
Mind of a revolutionary
So clear the lane
The finger to the land of the chains
What? the land of the free?
Whoever told you that is your enemy?

Bridge, Chorus

I've got no patience now
So sick of complacence now
I've got no patience now
So sick of complacence now
Sick of sick of sick of sick of you
Time has come to pay...
Know your enemy!

Come on!
Yes I know my enemies
They're the teachers who taught me to fight me
Compromise, conformity, assimilation, submission
Ignorance, hypocrisy, brutality, the elite
All of which are American dreams

And one more by them that imo is worth sharing and I couldn't find it on the forum elsewhere either.

Wake Up by RATM (made famous as part of the The Matrix soundtrack, it can be heard during the end credits)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wauzrPn0cfg

Come on, although ya try to discredit
Ya still never edit
The needle, I'll thread it
Radically poetic
Standin with the fury that they had in '66
And like e-double I'm mad
Still knee-deep in the systems sh*t
Hoover, he was a body remover
I'll give ya a dose
But it'll never come close
To the rage built up inside of me
Fist in the air, in the land of hypocrisy

Movements come and movements go
Leaders speak, movements cease
When their heads are flown
Cause all these punks
Got bullets in their heads
Departments of police, the judges, the feds
Networks at work, keepin people calm
You know they went after king
When he spoke out on vietnam
He turned the power to the have-nots
And then came the shot

Yeah!

Yeah, back in this...
Wit poetry, my mind I flex
Flip like Wilson, vocals never lackin dat finesse
Whadda I got to, whadda I got to do to wake ya up
To shake ya up, to break the structure up
Cause blood still flows in the gutter
I'm like takin photos
Mad boy kicks open the shutter
Set the groove
Then stick and move like I was Cassius
Rep the stutter step
Then bomb a left upon the fascists
Yea, the several federal men
Who pulled schemes on the dream
And put it to an end

Ya better beware
Of retribution with mind war
20/20 visions and murals with metaphors

Networks at work, keepin people calm
Ya know they murdered X
And tried to blame it on islam
He turned the power to the have-nots
And then came the shot

Uggh!
What was the price on his head?
What was the price on his head!

I think I heard a shot (5 times)
I think I heard, I think I heard a shot

Background: black nationalism
He may be a real contender for this position should he
Abandon his supposed obediance to white liberal doctrine
Of non-violence...and embrace black nationalism
Through counter-intelligence it should be possible to
Pinpoint potential trouble-makers...
And neutralise them

Wake up! (x8)

Spoken: how long? not long, cause
What you reap is what you sow.

Aşık Veysel (October 25, 1894 – March 21, 1973) is one of the most famous Anatolian minstrels. These minstrels are called Aşık. The letter 'ş' is pronounced 'sh'. Aşık means "in love" or "lover" in Turkish which Gurdjieff refers as Ashok in "Meetings with the Remarkable Men". Gurdjieff's father was an Aşık/Ashok as well (Ashok Adash).

Aşık Veysel was blind for most of his lifetime. From wikipedia : "When Veysel turned seven in 1901, another smallpox outbreak occurred in Sivas, and Veysel contracted the disease as well. He became blind in his left eye and a cataract developed in his right eye. After an accident, his right eye was blinded as well. His father gave his blind son a bağlama (a Turkish stringed instrument) and recited many folk poems to him."

Some consider him as a Sufi (he was an Alawite in origin). This is one of his most famous songs, describing the long difficult path of man/being. It's an old record : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUGb5k-Qt-I

Here is a translation i found :

I'm on a Long, Narrow Path (Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım)

I'm on a long, narrow path
I'm walking on, day and night.
I've lost my sense of self.
I'm walking on, day and night,
Day and night, day and night,
Day and night.

Ever since the moment I came into this world,
I was walking from the very beginning.
In a caravansary with only two doors.
I'm walking on, day and night,
Day and night, day and night,
Day and night.

In a caravansary with only two doors.
I'm walking on, day and night,
Day and night, day and night,
Day and night.

When contemplated deeply,
It seems far away, when looked at.
The road is but a minute long.
I'm walking on, day and night,
Day and night, day and night,
Day and night.

The road is but a minute long.
I'm walking on, day and night,
Day and night, day and night,
Day and night.

Veysel is confused in this state,
Sometimes crying, sometimes laughing,
On the road to reach my destination.
I'm walking on, day and night,
Day and night, day and night,
Day and night.

On the road to reach my destination.
I'm walking on, day and night,
Day and night, day and night,
Day and night.

Years ago i heard an interpretation that he meant by walking through a caravansary (Anatolian type of inn) with two doors (in and out) day and night, living many lives, learning the lessons.

I think you will like the images of this video. And the song is very nice! :cool2:

Here is a song i think everyone may know....

CRANBERRIES
"Zombie"

Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken.
And the violence caused such silence,
Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou...

Another mother's breakin',
Heart is taking over.
When the vi'lence causes silence,
We must be mistaken.

It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen.
In your head, in your head they're still fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are dying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh,
Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, oh, ya, ya-a...

I just love this song.

Sting is awesome :)

I'm obsessed with the "Desert Rose" song :)
especially the Moroccan singer singing along with him :)

Golly, Folks,

Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned regarding music, here. I love classical/opera/Neopolitan love songs. I was once an operatic baritone, but that was so long ago. My, how time passes. I used to sing this . . . ah, what dreams are made on.

Catari, Catari,
Pecchè me dici sti parole amare,
Pecchè me parle e 'o core
Me turmiento Catari?

Num te scurdà ca t'aggio date 'o core, Catari
Nun te scurdà!

Catari, Catari, che vene a dicere
Stu parlà, che me dà spaseme?
Tu nun 'nce pienze a stu dulore mio
Tu num 'nce pienze tu nun te ne cura

Core, core 'ngrato
T'aie pigliato 'a vita mia.
Tutt' è passato
E nun'nce pienze cchiù!

Catari, Catari,
Tu nun 'o saie ca'nfin'int' a na chiesa
Io so' trasuto e aggio priato a Dio, Catari.
E l'aggio ditto pure a 'o cunfessore:
I' sto a fuffrì
Pe' chella llà!
Sto a suffrì,
Sto a suffrì, nun se po' credere,
Sto a suffrì tutte li strazie!
E 'o cunfessore ch'è persona santa,
M'ha ditto: Figlio mio, lassala sta', lassala sta'.

Core, core 'ngrato
T' aie pigliato 'a vita mia.
Tutt' è passato
E nun'nce pienze cchiù!
