What are you listening to?

I really get moved deeply by this beautiful Oscar winning song "Falling Slowly" from the movie "Once." Written and performed by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova.

I don't know you but I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me and always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice
You'll make it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice
You'll make it now

Glen Hansard - Falling Slowly Lyrics | MetroLyrics

I love this version too when Eddie Vedder joins Glen Hansard on stage.

The film is well worth watching too I think. It is described on Amazon as, "Inspirational drama about two kindred spirits who find each other on the bustling streets of Dublin. One (Glen Hansard) is a street musician who lacks the confidence to perform his own songs. The other is a young mother (Marketa Irglova) trying to find her way in a strange new town. As their lives intertwine, they discover each other's talents and push one another to realise what each had only dreamt about before."

Had some friends over last night for a singalong, this one on youtube -Ball of Confusion by the Temptations - from 1970 with its lyrics caught my eye. Nothing really changes it seems - well maybe that's not strictly true - they just get worse :-(.

People movin' out, people movin' in.
Why, because of the color of their skin.
Run, run, run, but you sho' can't hide
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
Vote for me and I'll set you free
Rap on, brother, rap on.
Well, the only person talkin' 'bout love thy brother is the preacher
And it seems nobody's interested in learning but the teacher
Segregation, determination, demonstration, integration, aggravation,
humiliation, obligation to our nation
Ball Of Confusion that's what the world is today (yeah, yeah)
The sale of pills is at an all time high
young folks walkin' 'round with their heads in the sky
Cities aflame in the summer time, and oh the beat goes on
Eve of destruction, tax deduction,
City inspectors, bill collectors,
Evolution, revolution, gun control, the sound of soul,
Shootin' rockets to the moon, kids growin' up too soon
Politicians say more taxes will solve ev'rything, and the band played on.
Round and round and around we go, where the world's headed nobody knows.
Great googa mooga, can't you hear me talkin' to you, just a
Ball of Confusion that's what the world is today. (yeah, yeah)
Fear in the air, tension ev'rywhere
Unemployment rising fast, the Beatle's new record's a gas,
and the only safe place to live is on an Indian reservation,
and the band played on
Eve of destruction, tax deduction,
City inspectors, bill collectors, mod clothes in demand,
population out of hand, suicide too many bills, hippies movin' to the hills
People all over the world are shouting end the war and the band played on.
Round and round and around we go, where the world's headed nobody knows.
Great googa mooga, can't you hear me talkin' to you, just a
Ball of Confusion that's what the world is today
Let me hear you, let me hear you, let me hear you
Ball Of Confusion that's what the world is today

Last weekend I saw the remake from the movie A Star is Born back in the 70's, with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. I didn't know Cooper had such a great voice and well, we know Gaga from her comercial stuff, which im not fan of, but she does have such an amazing voice, IMO.

All the soundtrack is full of such passion that it literally made me cry 80% of the movie hehe.

Sorry if just french speakers can understand it

You don't understand anything about anything.
You are the doggie of this country.
The horror of man has been incarnated in you.
For half a century now that you've been lying to us, you've been scheming, you've been murdering.
You are a disgrace to my country.
Shame on the pay of the most powerful, on the pay of our real leaders, the masters of actions and money.
You have left all your children, from our working-class neighbourhoods or our middle classes, behind
You rolled us in the soot.
You trampled on your own flag like we walk on flowers.
You have become the puppets of a political Real-TV that only drool and then force-feed the populace of this pathetic theatre staged by the media dictatorship.
You have left the power of the people in the hands of these puppeteers who make your head turn where the wind blows.
You maintain class racism, you maintain race racism.
For you blacks are only good at dancing, Arabs are only good at terrorizing and then whites are only good at paying.
Well done, you've done it. Racism has never been so great in this sad world.
You made our culture free to sell phones.
You let culture become the -jezebel- of access providers.
You have made art a by-product to sell diapers.
You let the rape of our culture, the arts or tomatoes take place.
All this is good only to enrich the intermediary and then your great-grandmaster the shareholder.
You send batons to fight workers' demonstrations
You write in English on the Eiffel Tower and you talk about identity.
You can no longer write or speak the language of your country.
You flout the origin of France, you amputate its spelling, you don't vote any law in line with the modern ones you sell us.
You let the impunity of the Start-Ups become Internet reality, society turns to the dictatorship of violence and you vote nothing but immobility, ever more paralyzing of our society.
You've become nothing but a treasurer who's been raiding his little people.
You are not descendants of anyone.
You're just descendants of TV shows for atrophied brains.
You are now only a Tweeter account.
For you, a TV presenter is worth more than an educator, a Tweet is more important than a letter from a veteran.
You are the corruption incarnate who preaches the tax to pay your women and children "To your health Filllon! ».
The patriotic feeling for you is learning to betray your country.

You are the disease that makes the medicine expensive.
You are the mould on the democracy tree.
You are the infinitely harmful of chronic pathologies.
You are why thousands of people are living in tents and dying of cold each winter.
You only have the word democracy in your mouth, when you only embody the spit on its banner.
You are a mediocracy.
You are pornocracy.
You are the pawns of those who bet on the debts of your neighbouring countries and your brotherly countries.
You are sad slaves to your rotten financial friendships " To your health Bolloré ! "»..
You are an account in Switzerland or Panama.
You talk about fighting when you only know how to run.
You talk about victory when you stink of defeat.
You talk about union when you are only an individual ambition.
You are the end of ideals.
You are the cause of the rise of fascism.
You are the cause of suicide people, farmers, teachers, unemployed.
You are nothing but the suitcases of the scholarship masters.
You are the flag of the Tartuffières.
You're soufrière makers, who will soon catch fire.
You will have on your hands the blood of the death of democracy one day, for the benefit of human slavery through the price of shares.
Democracy has brought forth the worst.
Let the anonymous fascism of the great stock market web continue.
Let the satellite mud continue.
Let the flow of money continue.
Let the wars continue.
Let the child continue, under the bombardments.
May the death of the working class continue.
What more chemical that violates your land.
Very sad policies puppets with their pants down

The financier -flicks- companies. Companies -flick- the countries. Companies finance the media. The media get politicians elected.
And the politician -flicks- his people!
