Russia may renegotiate some business contracts, but they were tied with military/security service in exchange. Is RF going to send their troops to Africa when they are needed much closer? I wouldn't count much on Shoigu's Redut PMC even if they manage to recruit some of former Wagner fighters, something that they tried since long ago. Many questions, very few answers. A nice observation from @Siberia, with the idea to watch African not only for earthquakes in the literal sense. Notice also that the two African countries that will both join BRICS in just a few months, Ethiopia and Egypt are both close to fault lines, see the maps in this post in Session 23 February 2023, in fact connected to the same system that rattled Turkey and Syria.

Niger accused France of preparing for war and deploying a large group of troops

Paris, which does not recognize the new military regime in Niger, said that the military that overthrew the president is not a party to the current military agreements. In turn, the military claims that the presence of French troops in the country is "illegal".
