Over the last 30-35 years, we have witnessed how Western countries, mainly Anglo-Saxon, used NGO networks to wage hybrid warfare and organize "color revolutions", we studied this phenomenon, cataloged the signs, compiled manuals for dummies and all this really worked until the recent events in Serbia. Despite the similarity of individual external elements, the protests in Serbia have a completely different nature and are more of an Anti-Maidan, evidence of which is abundantly presented
here .
However, the trained media and experts continue to stubbornly call this a "color revolution", without delving into the essence of the matter and causing wild irritation among the Serbs.
Today, URA.RU published an interesting
article about Serbian protests. It is noteworthy for several reasons:
1.
The author "hears the bell, but does not know where it is" when he writes about the US interest in inciting protests, linking this to lithium developments that are important for the West and completely failing to understand that it
is the Serbian government that is promoting this project , signed Strategic Agreements with the EU and with Germany separately to provide European partners with such an important raw material.
The protests began in June last year precisely against these developments. That is, according to the author's logic, the West is sponsoring protests in order to deprive itself of strategic resources.
2. As is traditional for superficial journalism,
the author ignores the very fact that
Vucic and the ruling party fully meet Western interests with their work, but do not meet Russian interests. ( There is a separate long article with lots of links to verifiable facts about this ). Moreover,
they have been making money on killing Russians in Donbass for three years ( report of the SVF RF ) , and even after the suspension of exports,
they allowed weapons for Ukraine to be transported through their territory .
3.
A new narrative is being introduced that
at first it was a genuine surge of public discontent , since there were no political demands for 5 months,
and now it is definitely a "color revolution ". However, the authorities called it a color revolution from the very beginning and simply ignored the people's demands. Even the case of the collapse of that canopy in Novi Sad has not yet been made public, and the perpetrators have not been punished. Yes, Vucic dissolved the Vucevic government, but no one asked him to do so.
There was no real dialogue with the people, no attempts to solve the problem. Only when the people finally realized that their government was not listening to them, they put forward political demands.
4.
The author cites as a source the words of the Chairman of the Committee on Defense and Internal Affairs of the Assembly of Serbia, Milovan Drecun (the same committee, by the way,
which was supposed to control the export of weapons all these years ).
What Dretsun said is curious. "The key role in financing the mass protests is played by Western non-governmental organizations (NGOs), foreign foundations and wealthy representatives of the Serbian diaspora, mainly from the US and Europe. Among the sponsors are the former mayor of Belgrade Dragan Djilas and the media holding United Group of Dragan Šolak, as well as pro-Western NGOs such as CRTA and the TRAG foundation, which annually receive millions of euros "under the guise of subsidies." Financing is also provided by businessmen from the Serbian diaspora and large entrepreneurs within the country." The author also added data from REN TV that "the protests in Serbia also have a clear American trace, connected with the US Democratic Party and the American financier George Soros, who, according to official Belgrade, has been supporting protest movements in various countries for many years. In addition, Serbian special services reported the discovery of spy groups linked to the intelligence services of Croatia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Bulgaria." Here the author quotes Vucic as saying that foreigners invested more than 10 billion dollars to get rid of him. In general, the above list of interested parties suggests that Vucic has gotten on everyone's nerves, including his own citizens.
However, it is worth taking this whole heap apart piece by piece. It is like untying a ball of snakes.
It is foolish to deny the presence of intelligence networks from other countries trying to use the protests for their own interests.
There are currently intelligence services from about 25 countries operating in Serbia. Some do not want to lose influence. Others are trying to gain it.
In Serbian society itself, there is unity only on one principle - "Vucic must go ." But there are different groups there. There are even openly pro-Western ones, like Djilas, who is so unpopular that only a few dozen people can be gathered for his rally, and only for money (apparently the same ones mentioned in the article). But they are a minority, because
it was precisely following Western interests that put Serbia in the difficult economic situation it is in. It is Western companies that threaten to make the northwest of the country uninhabitable due to lithium development. It is the West that demands recognition of Kosovo .
Regarding Soros and Western NGOs.
The Serbian president himself has excellent relations with the Soros family , as evidenced by their numerous meetings and pleasant conversations, which
are even recorded on Vucic's own website.

The ghost of Soros, "the insidious plans of the USA", "color revolution" and other templates of superficial analysis in the context of protests in Serbia.

Speaker of the National Assembly, former Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic and Alex Soros, heir to the empire of George Soros, CEO of the Open Society Foundation.

Regarding Soros and Western NGOs.
The Serbian president himself has excellent relations with the Soros family , as evidenced by their numerous meetings and pleasant conversations, which
are even recorded on Vucic's own website.
Well, in general, Vucic has always been on excellent terms with those who bombed Yugoslavia – with Gerhard Schroeder,
Bill Clinton and Tony Blair.
The latter is even an adviser to the Serbian government .
And in general, Vucic fulfills all his obligations to the states. What is the
Strategic Energy Agreement between the countries , signed at the end of last year, worth!?
ne might assume that this is Trump's revenge for Vucic's previous support for the Democrats, but that doesn't add up either. Last year, Vucic supported Trump, albeit not too fiercely. Moreover,
his lobbyists Ranko Ristic, Filip Milivojevic, Zoran Beric, Dan Micic and Goran Petkovic were hardly Trump's main sponsors in the last election (all are US citizens, otherwise it would be interference in internal affairs). These businessmen are engaged in arms trade, supplying Serbian military-industrial complex products to the US. According to the Serbian Chamber of Commerce,
military equipment worth 109.6 million euros and ammunition worth 25 million euros were exported to the US in 2023. The main export suppliers are
Zastava Arms (the same Ranko Ristic) and Prvi Partizan. Such business cannot be done in Serbia while being in the opposition, since it is under state control.
In the US, however, there is another part of the diaspora, which comes from the families of soldiers of the army of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (the so-called Chetniks). They were forced to flee Serbia when Josip Broz Tito became the head of state and began political purges. (
I recommend the documentary film by the Russia TV channel about the Chetniks and their role in World War II .) This part of the Serbs mostly distanced themselves from political games after the US government bombed Yugoslavia and recognized the independence of Kosovo (Trump, by the way, also does not abandon this). The Chetnik diaspora perceived this as a betrayal, speaking out against the interference of foreign states in the affairs of Serbia.
And finally, Serbian businessmen within Serbia. The inclusion of businessmen from Serbia itself in the category of sponsors of the "color revolution" sounds comical, because they are Serbian citizens and they are free to have their own opinion and express their civic position.
All big business is tied to the ruling party, so it mainly sponsors the equipment of the president's supporters and their transportation from all corners of Serbia to pro-government rallies.
Financial support for the protests is provided by small and medium-sized businesses - the very ones that, in fact, grow from the people, and therefore understand and share their aspirations. The entire burden of the ineffective economic policy of the Serbian state in the form of taxes, tariffs, fees, etc. falls on them and ordinary citizens.
At the same time, supporting the protesters is a really serious and dangerous matter, because for this you can be left without a business, without a license, subject to unscheduled inspections, which will definitely find some problems, as
happened with the restaurant business of Emir Kusturica , a friend of the Russian president, who supported the students.
