In the Netherlands we 'enjoy' autumn in August too the last couple of days, with day temps around 7C below seasonal average and last night we reached 0C in the most eastern part of Twente -- which is unheard of for decades:

One more thing that I paid attention and noticed it today, leafs on the trees. The tree's foliage are already yellow in much greater extent than average for the first half of the August. Remembering how it was before, I would say that it is more suited for late September, early October to be yellow like that. (BTW July and especially August are most hottest months in these parts).
Other than that we had today two lightning strikes in two separate football matches. One in Bosnia and one in Serbia. One Bosnian player is badly injured.

I have noticed the same thing with the tree leafs.Just a few days ago i noticed a yellow leafs under and on some linden trees and I comment to my wife that it is too early for that.

Northeastern Pennsylvania - since the second week of July, we have been experiencing above normal temps in the high 80-90's F and in the low 70's F at night with an occasional sprinkle or two, which would dry up in a heartbeat. Starting the last week of July, same high temps but with heavy down pours every 2-3 day, increasing the humidity. It's like walking inside a hot oven.
In past years, we would only get these hot muggy conditions, for about a week, in mid to late August.
According to this morning local weather report, we're in for another week, with these conditions.
Friday – starts with some patchy early fog, then hazy, hot & humid, partly sunny to cloudy at times with scattered showers & maybe a thunderstorm, high 93.
Tonight – could bring an evening shower otherwise it’s partly to mostly cloudy, low 73.
Saturday & Sunday – are hazy, hot & humid under a partly sunny to cloudy sky with scattered afternoon showers & maybe a thunderstorm; Saturday’s high is 92 & Sunday upper 80s to around 90.
Monday – becomes partly sunny, high 88.
Tuesday – looks partly sunny to cloudy with afternoon & evening showers & maybe a thunderstorm, high 85.
Wednesday – is mostly cloudy with scattered showers & some thunder, high 85.
Thursday – could be partly sunny to cloudy with maybe a late-day shower & chance of thunder, high 85.

The last 4 weeks have nearly been a rerun. Early in the week, after a beautiful weekend, heat and humidity build until it's almost unbearable to work outside, then a front will come through on Thursday night, by Fri/Sat the temps and humidity are comfortable again. This pattern has cycled like clock work for the last 4 weeks!
Not complaining, just observing something unusual. I noticed this since my grocery shopping night is Thurs and have been getting caught in downpours. Cloud cover also kept us from viewing the Perseids :(
All in all, Summer has been beautiful around here and has been kind to the garden, too.
