In SC Alaska it is warming, with freezing rain/high wind warnings. It is 30°F (-1°C ) - 10 degrees warmer than yesterday.

Well, in the Paris region we had a storm a few days before Christmas. A storm, yes, my friends. In the middle of December, for me, it's a novelty that heralds the coming chill.

A thunderstorm, not storm

South-Eastern part of Austria. On monday and tuesday we had a very stormy weather. You would better stay inside unless there were no real reasons to go out. It is about 3-4 °C in the daytime which fits to december. Although during the last decembers temperatures were about 7 - 10°.
But what is most interesting: Since that heavy floods in September we nearly had rain or snow. This is definitely unusual . . .

Here in my place in Central-Eastern Germany the weather hadn't become particularly cold so far either. It has been less chilly than in November, but wetter. There were stretches of the weather being stormy, and also spring-like.

To add to the list of unusual phenomena regarding nature: When driving up to my aunt's today for a family Christmas gathering (she lives a few hours up North from us), we saw a rose bush with pink blooming roses in a village we passed through. Don't remember seeing a rose bush in full bloom at the end of December. Also, in the garden of the place where I grew up snowdrops are showing their tips already.
