What's the weather where you are?

In Dalmatia there was almost summer for one month - till few days ago - when, suddenly, we had have some heavy raining thunderstorms and finally some snow on coastal mountain tops with 0°C. Also noticed more "sinister", almost black, heavy clouds in skies above Split. Meteorologists are predicting extremely hot summer - which could be just appropriate preparation for abundant condensation to "fuel" even more violent precipitations ("Expect early snow")...

Here in Belgium, the typical weather for the last few weeks has been cold (5 to 10 C° or 41 to 50°F), windy and rainy for a week or two then followed by a somewhat sunny day with 15-17 C° (59 to 62° F) and then back to 5-7 C° the next day. We should normally have + 20 C° (68 ° F) at this time of the year...
 
I had some days the feeling being in autumn instead of in spring/summer for middle Europe. And it is also the first time I can remember that I needed to switch on the heater again, cause it stayed colder for about a week so the house did cool down again.
 
Much colder here in the Rhone Valley of SE France for the past week. Like Gawan says, feels like Autumn (lows +3 highs +12 celsius lows 37 highs 54 fahrenheit). Strange as southern parts of Sweden and Finland are considerably warmer! Very strange indeed. Adults here having a hard time remembering it being so cold in the latter part of May.

There was ground frost in eastern parts of the country overnight, with the temperature dipping to as low as -2.8 Celsius in Gelderland, according to RTL weather forecaster Amara Onwuka.

The previous record low for May 24 was -0.6 Celsius nine years ago, Onwuka said.

The cold weather, which has led to temperatures no warmer than 10 Celsius in places during the day, will continue in to the weekend.

On Friday, cold weather records are likely to be broken again, as the temperature hovers between 8 and 11 Celsius. The coldest May 24 on record was 10.4 and dates from 1975.

The temperature at the end of May usually averages around 18 Celcius.

Hi,
Stormy, cold days lately, after some really hot and dry weather which lasted about 2 months here in Eastern Europe.

You might be interested in the recent radio show of James McCanney (ScienceHour of May23, 2013) who explains that this unusual weather patterns were due to our planet being electrically aligned with Saturn. He also mentioned that even the equatorial jet stream switched direction, and this alignment also caused more weird weather patterns.

WILMINGTON, N.Y. (AP) — A Memorial Day weekend storm has dropped three feet of snow on a New York ski mountain near the Vermont boarder.

Whiteface Mountain spokesman Jon Lundin says 36 inches of white powder has blanketed the nearly 5,000-foot tall mountain in the Adirondacks. That has forced the Olympic Regional Development Authority to close Whiteface Veteran's Memorial Highway on the backside of the mountain.

Lundin says the snow began lightly falling Saturday and steadily dropped Sunday, finishing in the evening. He didn't know if the 3-foot snowfall was a record for Whiteface.

Burlington, Vt., National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Muccilli says the mountain experienced steady snow and gusty winds throughout the weekend.

He says Mount Mansfield, in Stowe, Vt., had 13.2 inches of snow Sunday, the latest in the season it's ever had a foot.
 
It is amazing reading about all the unseasonably cold, rainy and snowy weather. And the tornados too!

Here in Southwest Florida, our weather in May has been normal. Upper 80's to 90 degrees during the day. Our lows at night are 70 degrees. A very uneventful weather pattern this spring. Nothing out of the ordinary to report.

I am wondering what the coming ice age will mean for Southwest Florida. I can't imagine our summers being anything less than HOT and humid.

Hurricane season starts June 1st. We'll see what that brings.

Sounds like the coming ice age won't affect south Florida weather very much, if at all. Although there might a huge migration of people moving here from the north!

I'm guessing that Southern Florida will perhaps not be too affected, temperature-wise, but the weather could change a bit which I guess would depend on the changes in the "earth's dynamics" (air and water currents) that would occur during a glacial rebound.

But as far as I can see, we'll know pretty soon.

Where I'm staying in Malaysia the weather swings from extremely hot and humid to cold and rainy, and when it rains, it pours. There had been a few flash floods in the city, one happening near my living quarters 3 months ago, creating a massive traffic congestion. That area has never had any floods, but it underwent several road reconstruction before that - might be the case. :huh: I was bummed when the news came out, the mall near the highway where I usually visit was affected as well. I wonder if the flood happens again and it's worse than this, would the people staying in the grid-locked area have other ways to escape? Time to invest on an inflatable boat. :lol:
 
Hi, from Croatia. It is cold (7 to 15 Celcius) for this time of the year , and it is rainy, very much rainy. I am feeling like a frog.
 
It looks like a small tornado touched down in southwestern France on Wednesday (29 May). Ay Caramba!

Here in NJ it is hot in 90's for this week. Next week it is back to 70's. Last week weather is strange- early morning hot but cooled down by 20/30 by afternoon
