WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT JULY 04_2025

The seismic swarm in the Tokara Islands in Japan has decreased in magnitude for the time being. As of July 3, 2025, a total of 911 earthquakes have been recorded in the Tokara Islands since June 21, 2025, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). Of these, 18 earthquakes were magnitude 4, three were magnitude 5, and the rest (890 earthquakes) were magnitude 3 or less.

Residents of Tokara Islands begin evacuation as seismic swarm continues
Residents of the Tokara Islands in the village of Toshima, Kagoshima Prefecture, began evacuating Friday morning following a powerful magnitude 5.5 earthquake that struck a day earlier, which registered a lower 6 on Japan’s seven-point shindo seismic intensity scale — the highest ever recorded in the region.

The initial evacuation period is set for about a week but may be extended depending on future seismic activity, Toshima Village Mayor Genichiro Kubo said Thursday during a news conference at the village office in the city of Kagoshima.

The first group of 13 evacuees — comprising six elementary and junior high school students and seven others ranging in age from infancy to 80 years old — left Akuseki Island Friday morning aboard a village-operated ferry. The vessel is expected to arrive at Kagoshima Port at around 6 p.m.

At a news conference on Friday morning, Kubo said that the village is currently accepting applications for a second round of departures.
The seismic cluster continues to shake the region and the Indian Ocean.

QUAKE WATCH
Earth's conjunction with Venus and Uranus on the 4th can result in major seismic activity in the next two days.

During the observation period from June 21 to 30, there were five earthquakes with a magnitude of ≥ 6.0, which is above the usual average.

SSGEOS mentions that there is still a possibility of a major event in the coming days. The probability of an event of up to M6.9 in the worst case scenario is 70% according to the forecast. Meanwhile, the probability of a larger event of up to magnitude 8.4 in the worst case scenario is 60%.

On July 4, a critical planetary alignment will occur involving Mercury, Jupiter, and Neptune, and another involving Earth, Venus, and Uranus.

Ryo Tatsuki's prophecy about a megatsunami is causing fear among the local population.

Residents Unable To Sleep as Tokara Islands Hit by 900 Quakes in Two Weeks
The constant tremors have, understandably, left residents feeling apprehensive. “It feels like it’s always shaking,” one person who lives there told the regional broadcaster MBC. “It’s very scary to even fall asleep.” Another commented, “It’s not clear when all this will end. I should think about whether to evacuate my kids.”

An emergency press conference was held following the afternoon earthquake. “Seismic activity has been very active in the seas around the Tokara Island chain since June 21,” said Ayataka Ebita, director of the agency’s Earthquake and Tsunami Observation Division. “We want people in areas where tremors were strong to ensure their safety and watch out for falling rocks and landslides. We don’t know when the seismic activity will end. Given past examples, we want people to be prepared for an earthquake with a seismic intensity of around upper 5.”

The earthquake swarm on the Tokara Islands has further ignited fears of a catastrophic disaster hitting Japan soon. In the “complete version” of her book, The Future I Saw, released in 2021, Ryo Tatsuki wrote about a dream originally seen on July 5, which seemed to tell her “a disaster will occur in July 2025.”

Japan braces for more quakes as authorities dismiss doomsday hype
Japan's government on Saturday warned of more possible strong earthquakes in waters southwest of its main islands, but urged the public not to believe unfounded predictions of a major disaster.

"With our current scientific knowledge, it's difficult to predict the exact time, place or scale of an earthquake," said Ayataka Ebita, director of the Japan Meteorological Agency's earthquake and tsunami monitoring division, after a 5.4 magnitude quake shook the area again on Saturday.

"We ask that people base their understanding on scientific evidence," Ebita told a news conference.

The manga, which some have interpreted as predicting a catastrophic event on Saturday, has prompted some travelers to avoid Japan. Arrivals from Hong Kong, where the rumors have circulated widely, were down 11% in May from the same month last year, according to the latest data.

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT JULY 10_2025

Seismic activity has remained low to moderate over the past 48 hours. The earthquake in Guatemala was updated to a magnitude of 5.7, and videos show a really abrupt movement. As of Thursday, Guatemala's seismological institute had recorded 348 aftershocks, keeping authorities and the population on alert.

According to Guatemalan authorities, seven deaths were recorded as a result of the earthquake and its aftershocks. Four deaths occurred in Suchitepéquez, two in Escuintla (including two people buried by a landslide on a highway), and one in the department of Guatemala.

The municipality of Santa María de Jesús, with a population of 27,000, is one of the hardest-hit areas. Mayor Mario Pérez reported that 50% of homes were damaged, including historic structures such as the facade of the local church. In addition, landslides blocked access to the town, forcing the government to implement an airlift to send humanitarian aid.

● SSGEOS Earthquake forecast updated 13 July 2025, 11:00 UTC
There is a slight possibility of a larger seismic event on the 14th. Clustering of stronger tremors is likely from 16 to 18 July.

The first part of the forecast has been fulfilled with the earthquake in Indonesia and the earthquake in the Mediterranean. The second part is influenced by lunar geometries involving Mars, Saturn, and Neptune. It is possible that the energy from the M6.2 earthquake in the Pacific Ocean near Panama will move toward Central America and southern Mexico because the strong earthquake M6.2 occurred between the boundaries of the Cocos and Nazca plates. In the best-case scenario, this energy could be released toward the central East Pacific Rise. In fact, an M5.1 earthquake has already occurred.

... Clustering of stronger tremors is likely from 16 to 18 July.

The second part of the SSGEOS forecast has been fulfilled with the lunar geometries involving Saturn and Neptune, as well as the planetary geometry of Venus, Mars, and Jupiter. There is still a critical planetary geometry involving Mars, Mercury, and Neptune, which will occur on July 18.

It is possible that the energy from the M7.3 earthquake in Alaska could move to the west coast of America. It would not be unusual to see a ≥M6.0 response towards Vancouver Island, the Oregon region, California, and Baja California. Nor can we rule out the possibility that the energy will move toward the Kamchatsk Peninsula, Japan, or Taiwan.

SSGEOS forecast a 70% probability for an M6.4 event in the worst case scenario. The probability is 60% for a higher event and up to M7.4.

So far, there have been 15 aftershocks from the M7.3 earthquake. The strongest was a magnitude 4.2 quake that hit 8 minutes after the mainshock.
