There were apparently reports of chest trauma right at the beginning, from the hospital I believe, that have vanished.
According to people familiar with guns (eg. Vahalla VFT) the entry wound is small, can be smaller than the bullet, it's the exit wound that is large.
Perhaps it is possible that the shaped charge destroyed the heart before exiting the neck, which would account for the lack of blood spurting from the carotid artery. Though if the shaped charge went through the heart you'd expect some blood backflowing through the entry wound? Jon Brays attempt to explain the neck wound is plausible, and could account for the on-the-fly bizarre official explanations for the unanticipated neck wound. How does a shaped charge work? It is not a metal bullet, perhaps its force is dispersed at it travels through the body?
Just as gun owners have been trashing the 306-06 story for the neck wound (a 306 would have taken off his head!) the same would apply to a shaped charge used to mimic a 306 entry into the chest as if it had been a 306 (Tylers rifle), there still would have been a hell of an exit wound!
Regarding Charlies chances of survival, it may have been possible, though I think the force behind a shaped charge would have liquefied his internals? I mention that in conjunction with the sudden increase in Charlies neck size due to possible cavitation.
Perhaps that is why the 'well-trained' security team rendered NO first aid, there were no ambulances on station at UVU, Charlie was carried, head flopping (unsupported) to a SUV, and he was taken to a hospital with less trauma capability that was further away from the main UVU hospital. Even if Charlie had not been immediately killed, the response of his security team would have guaranteed his death.
Apparently Barron Coleman does have pictures of chest trauma on Charlie, so we'll "wait and see" if he puts out that information (video or photos)
The idea of a shaped charge in the mic is possible, but you wouldn't have the control over EXACTLY striking the area you wanted to strike, unlike having someone pointing a gun at exactly the spot they wanted to hit.
