New Show: MindMatters (RIP Truth Perspective)

Thank you for these shows from my side as well! It happens while I am doing some of the more tedious or long-drawn out gardening work (like weeding between the bricks of the paths in there; or some other clearing tasks), that I listen to the one or other show. At some other times it happens while being at work, when there isn't anything to do other than just sitting around and with no one else to chat with. Listening to the interesting discussions really lightens up both of these kinds of tasks in gardening and work, and makes them fun - with some of the information really mind-blowing and thus sticking with me afterwards. Thus, just carry on as you do - you're doing very well! :-)

3. Thanks to everyone who has helped create all these new video shows in various languages. Video is THE way to reach people these days, but it requires extra work, technical know-how, etc. Ya'll have just taken the ball and run with it!
How exactly do you iron your clothes, cook and work with your hands requiring eye focus / attention and watch the new videos, AKA "radio shows" at the same time? The old way was is to work, while listening to a radio show.

MindMatters still uploads the audio only version so you can continue to multitask if you want to. And we still get many more downloads of the audio show than of YT views. But Scottie's point is correct: the video format has much more potential to reach people web wide. For instance, some of Scottie's videos have gotten over a quarter of a million views!

Caught a double header of Mind Matters today:

This was a great show by the trio minds, and it helped to sort out some thinking. There was the part Harrison discussed (reading a quote paragraph) about three quarters of the way in on the ladder - monks, christian sages et cetera and belief patterning even among the more advanced thinkers and philosophers of not necessarily advancing and being stuck in their believe in the afterlife. That was an interesting quote and if it can be reproduced here, would appreciate it.

The part on reincarnation was also something to consider.

All in all, excellent show guys!

Next up was:

Here, all three of you Elan (keep up the singing 🎼 ), Corey and Harrison made some nice points around JP's words and those of myths.

There are certainly many ways you can go with all this, and many combinations. The big thing, at least for me, is that the need to stay open is vital. This is sort of emphasized later in terms of one's possible rigidity or, what a person does and does not do with what they may have figured out - being strategic and not being marked - and also a possible time to make a stand. This deals with our daily life interactions whereby ego factors and perhaps doing a whole lot more listening and then see where things go rather than trying to paint a picture that people don't want to see, or are not ready for in themselves or in society writ large to consider (external considering et cetera).

Again, well done guys!

Was this the one?

On the lower rungs of this ladder of consciousness dwell those souls who still cling to human habits of thought, to the earthly personality, to their own individual line of thought. On earth some of them have been extremely learned. But knowledge does not make a wise man. A great Indian Yogi, a Chinese sage, a learned or holy Christian father may dwell for aeons of time within the Third and Fourth Super-terrestrial States. They are typical representatives of Soul-man, and they have this short-comings. They cling to the line of thought which was theirs on earth, and so they remain sadly individualized in it; they are caught in its dream, and are snared in the many errors thereof. For instance, the Indian Yogi and the Chinese sage may still seek only to follow the aspiration of their particular religion or philosophy, the freeing of the soul from matter, ecstatic contemplation of the universe.

They appear to gain their aspiration; but in consequence they abide merely on one of the lower rungs of the ladder. They believe that they have attained to Nirvana, that they have passed out Yonder - entered into the Mystery of God. But they have done nothing of the kind; for they are still individualized, still clinging to their blissful little dream created when they were on earth. They are living in the stagnant pond. They are progressing neither up nor down.

From The Road to Immortality by Geraldine Cummins, pp. 20-21.

Part of the above quote read today on MM (From The Road to Immortality by Geraldine Cummins) is reasonably similar to what Hello H20 cites here from The Afterlife Unveiled page 56. "...a fanatical Buddhist or even devout Christian may be held within the groove of his earthly beliefs as if held in chains, and such conditions tend to inhibit progress."

Hey folks, just a heads up that our latest show is now online. We covered the book Ordinary Men, which Peterson has recommended several times. Quite a harrowing read...

Thank you for the show. It is interesting to analyze bringing ordinary people to conformity. This rampage of 1000’s per day killings by very few without plan as if they are in video game( or in same world )is strange. Sadly that is the reality.

Quite a harrowing read...

Oh boy, you can say that again. That was not an easy story to tell for you two, and not easy to hear, and yet the reality is as armies sweep back and forth in time, there are many Battalion 101's who answer the call against many people who met these horrendous fates. As JP said, almost anyone is capable, yet there are plenty of nuances with choices that can be exercised - and then what that means (which you cover).

In both your telling of this story, it was easy to think back on Bob Altemeyer and the Authoritarians, and of course Lobaczewski - in this case the decrees from back up the chain of command and who would follow them.

I think you guys are doing a great job.

Ditto!

A very well presented programme, thank you both. It puts into sharp focus the statement 'COURAGE OF YOUR OWN CONVICTIONS' and also being aware of everything going on around you at all times and your personal responsibilities as a result of those goings on. A very sobering lesson.

That was a fantastic show highlighting what Taleb has to say. It resonated on many levels - while speaking of the fragility mindset that operates in society (the keep you safe fragility at every turn and the fragilista's that manage) while making things worse.

You said that all his books should be read ("Taleb's writing is one of a kind"), yet does Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder pull together most of his overall themes?

Thanks guys!

Yep, you could start with Antifragile, then go from there if you feel like it.

BTW, here's the embedded YouTube video for the show:
