Let me show you this...Prayer Of The Soul to Music

That's really nice, AI! I loved the guitar in particular.

"Self Advice (All is lessons)"

(Wake up, wake up)And now it´s time to awake
(sleepers awake) Stop of being that fake
Raise your head
Walk straight
Keep your guard high
Life had just begun

:)

Great lyrics, Tykes. Good job!

It reminded me of one of my favorite songs, "Wide Awake" by Tuck and Pattty:

There was a time
In my life
When I thought
My only choice was to run away
From so much hatred,
Oh, it seems sometimes
That the killing will never end

Oh, I was afraid
I could not see the end inside
And so I did
What many others often do
I took all my feelings
And I put them all to sleep
Until I could not feel any more pain

But you cannot change a thing
If you cannot feel your heart
And so I prayed for strength
To help me face my fears
Oh I remember the day
And although it hurt me deep
I was happy for my tears
For remember, I was wide awake
Ready to take my place
In a war that’s going on
For hearts and minds

Oh I am wide awake
And I won’t hesitate
To stand and tell the truth
To save a life

So many suffer and cry
While too many of us
Turn our heads and hide
Oh, for lack of our love
Today ten thousand children
closed their eyes and died

Uhhh It’s hard to take
We cannot face this madness
And so we go back to the place
Where we feel safe
Oh, we take all our feelings
And put them all to sleep
Until we cannot feel any more pain
But don’t you be afraid ‘cause
Wide awake there will be many
Others who will join you on your way
Oh, and there is so much beauty
You just have to open up your eyes
Wide awake sometimes your heart will break
When you hear another anguished cry
But, oh in the middle of the sorrow,
You have got to realise
I you cannot look, then you cannot change
Open up your eyes,
Don’t be afraid
I’m right beside you
I’m here beside you
I’ll never leave you lonely, you know
I keep my head up
And my heart wide open
I’m here to tell you it’s worth anything you feel
Don’t go to sleep
Don’t slumber
Wake up
We’re depending on you

I am wide awake,
Ready to take my place
I am wide awake,
ready to take my place
You’ll be wide awake,
Ready to take your place
We’re wide awake,
Ready to take our place
I’m thankful
And I’m so grateful
That I’m wide, wide awake.

Here's a POTS in my own style. It's written in odd time signatures (7/8+5/8, 7/4, and plain 7/8) but I think it flows well. Let me know what you think!

I think it's great!! I love the changing pace of the song.

Agreed! It is also quite catchy. I find myself humming the melody from time to time.

I like it. You don't even notice the unusual time sig, because it fits so well.

Thank you All for sharing your productions of these wonderful lyrics. Very inspiring! Harrison, you sing and play with such passion, really love it :cool2:

Wow, it's awesomely great! I found myself shakin' my head while listening to it. Smooth song, man. :D

Thanks for all your feedback. Much appreciated.

Well, encorauged by your kind coments an with no intention of bore or bother you, i would like to show you another song i wrote after the influence of Cassiopaean proyect, it´s just a little silly tune, just me fooling around with the guitars and pop harmonies and trying to put in music and very simple words how i need to DO something, my absolute need to start the Work. I must warn you that my voice tends to sound a little like the Smurfs, i apologize if that results a little annoying for some of you...Uff Scared ok, as the Monthy Python guys used to say, and now for something completely different:

Great fun. Very refreshing. I thought it sounded like a cross between Lou Reed and the Beach boys.

Nice one Approaching Infinity, there is something special about the 'clear my eyes' part that lends itself well to being blasted out to the cosmos. :)

Thanks AI for sharing that! I liked it!

Now we gotta get Aragorn, opera singer, into a recording studio for his version of POTS:

Driving home I was full of relief joy and kept singing my version of POTS (to the tune of Amazing Grace)...

Thanks to you, Tykes, Pob, Approaching I, for these great creative works!

I wish I could express myself this way, but it is still beyond my grasp (so far in this Life anyway, but I ain't dead yet!)

Much appreciated. Keep 'em coming!

Me singing POTS

Inspired by you guys I finally thought I'd take the plunge and post a recording of me singing my version of the POTS, to the tune of Amazing Grace. It's kind of an opera version since I'm a opera singer, but I tried to keep the "opera gear" on minimum. ;)

Made this recording this morning in our livingroom and added some reverb on the Mac just to make it sound nicer...yeah, wishful thinking here :D

So, anyway...here it is and by this piece of singing I'd like to wish all of you, and especially Laura a very happy and peaceful Christmas!

p.s. This is just a cappella, because I had in mind that maybe someone could collaborate on this and make nice backgrounds to this? You can find the score I made for this HERE.

Aragorn! Your vibrato is awesome! great great great interpretation! I love it

Hi Aragorn,

Awesome. Great voice and thanks for sharing it. Happy holidays from me too.

Quite brilliant Aragon, you do have a wonderful voice, Love the tremolo effect you utilise and just the way you make singing that well sound so effortless. Happy holidays all from me too. :)

Yes Aragorn!
I really liked it!
And I think the reverb effect came off quite well, in my opinion.
