Let me show you this...Prayer Of The Soul to Music

Aragorn, that was beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. To be honest, I didn't think it would work, but, like I said, it was absolutely beautiful.

p.s. This is just a cappella, because I had in mind that maybe someone could collaborate on this and make nice backgrounds to this? You can find the score I made for this

very nice!

I don't think it needs much of a background really, because it sounds nice and clean at the moment.
perhaps a very simple guitar accompaniment, might work? I'll give it a go, and see if it does.

Approaching Infinity, I am listening to your recording. Amazing! And I love the guitar playing!
The singing is awesome! I imagine that singing exactly what you do with a second voice (you can sing with yourself and mix) could be terrific!

Thank you all,
Tak so jete mucke aragorn, det är Jete god. God Jül

(Sorry for the mispelling, I haven't used swedish for a long time...)
Keep being creative!!

Respect

:wow:Gorgeus voice Aragorn!, it sounds passionate but in control, i like it so much. Your profesional training plus your soulful interpretation...what a great combination.

Tykes, Pob, Approaching Infinity and Aragorn, bravo you guys!

All versions are very good and it was great to listen to the Prayer of the Soul in so many different versions. A real treat over the holidays, Thank You!

I am looking forward to listen to more versions from the musically-able :)

First of all I have to admit that I have peeked quite a few times at this thread to see the responses.

It has been very moving to read all the responses from you guys. First I was afraid that any positive comment on my singing would make me "feel good" and inflate my ego, but fortunately I sense that this has not happened at all. Of course, as always, I could be lying to myself! If I did have a "goal" and hoping in posting my recording, it was to bring a little joy to someone somewhere (this is my goal with every performance I do nowdays). Doing this version of POTS was fun, but it was more like a curiosity - it certainly didn't feel like "THE COMPOSITION" for POTS. But amongst other things, like bringing joy to me, it helped me learn the text by heart too!

Having said that, I feel that I someday would like to do a "real" recording (good equipment, pianist, and acoustics) of a song based on a text relating to the core philosophy of this forum/C-material, not necessarily the POTS. Since composing and song writing isn't my speciality I've been playing with the idea of letting some of my composer friends do the job, giving them a text to compose music to. And I'm sure there's gifted composers (as we've noticed already!) among the forum members also. So in case you want a lyric tenor with "opera vibrato" sing your composition just let me know, I'd be happy to! It would also be fun to hear suggestions of "core philosophical text" (maybe something the C's have said) that could be turned into a song.

I'll get back to reading 'The Ultramind Solution' now, which I gave my self as a Christmas present... :D

Edit: Grammar-I noticed that I consistently use 'all ready' when I in fact mean to say 'already'...

I used to refrain from commenting too enthousiately (even when I like a lot) because of the fear of inflate members egos as they are trying work over it. Sometimes I just make some stupid comments like "I like the vibrato part", "I like the red color in the left corner" and so one, trying to keep it technical. I realize that this caution is not always necessary and that part of creative work is to give, receive, and also receive, give. All depending upon the intent. So if we liked the works of Aragorn, Approaching Infinity, Pob, Tykes and others maybe willing to share soon, it is not to make you feel better, but only because we like the results. And it's part of your work to control your ego ;D
Thanks all for these pieces and happy holidays :flowers:

Sorry, in my self-centeredness while preparing and planning my recording I forgot to thank all the other artists on this thread.

Thank you Approaching Infinity, Pob and Tykes for your wonderful contributions!

No need but very kind of you Aragon. I really enjoyed reading your reflective post on how you felt through the process of creating this. I admit too I was peeking a few times on this thread after posting. I really enjoyed the whole process of singing and recording. Not something I do normally so it was genuinely surprising and rewarding to see others enjoying it. Also, as you say, it is a very good way to learn the words by heart. :)

Some will find their creativity expanding and thus their ability to make more direct connections as a result of the practice!
. I think that applies to us all here and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.

How about a divine cosmic barbershop quartet version? :D

I'm grateful to have received information by some forum members that my mp3-file included some metadata that exposed my true identity. Not that I'm sensitive of that, in fact I'm planning to "go public" with a Finnish web page (relating to this "community") in the near future. The thing was, that since the mp3 file was created with my wife's Mac it included her name(which leads to mine). And that surely was NOT intended by me :-[

So I'm just writing this to inform others not to be as careless as I was, in case you post files and want to keep your anonymity!

The new link and file name (the same audio clip with hopefully stripped metadata) is:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/zorueziz0e3/pots_aragorn_1b.mp3

If you guys still find some exposing metadata on that one, please let me know. And please don't share further the old file, since it contains this sensitive information!
