2010 Crop Circles

shows like that are maddening. Magician comedians Penn and Teller have a show called Bullsh*t that debunks myths using mostly mockery and little science. I came across an episode once where they were tackling UFOs and abductions and got so irate in the first few minutes I had to turn it off.

I quite agree with this one. Penn and Teller had another episode where they "debunked" organic food. It was so completely one-sided it was infuriating. All the organic supporters were flakey hippy types while the debunkers were in lab coats quoting impressive sounding statistics. So maddening.

There's actually a video you can find online where Leonard Horowitz sets them up pretty good. I forget the details, but I believe he confronted them, with a camera of his own, about who was paying their paycheques and they ended up sneaking away without doing the interview. It was only a producer and camera crew; Penn and Teller weren't actually there. None the less, it was pretty good to see them squirm.

Oh yeah, I've seen the one with 9/11 debunking and it was terrible, such aggressivity...I love their magic tricks but I can't stand the guys.

I had a thought that I would like to share and perhaps someone will have the time/opportunity to run with it a little. I came upon something called cymatics, and it had occurred to me that directional sound/vibrational frequency may well be the tool used to shape crop circles. Whether they are being manifested from a non-terrestrial force or otherwise. A few links to maybe explore ... and the 3rd one cover's research in many areas RE cymatics. Hope this gives others a bit of a twinkle the way it did me :D

cymatics is certainly fascinating. i remember watching an old documentary about it a few years ago.

regarding the BBC and their disinfo mission - another thing i've noticed is that they have a station ID animation (BBC2 i think) where housewives mow crop circles into their surburban lawn.

Same here. :knitting:

Hubby shared an insight into the show and the magicians with me the other night: "Remember what the title of this show is....it applies to the content in addition to being an entertainment angle. It can't be taken too seriously or it wouldn't be on TV at all."

They are magicians, and I don't think pointing to the Truth is in that 'job description', is it? ;)

I think something similar is discussed here : http://www.cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php?topic=11621.0
and in other places on the forum, just type "cymatic" in the search egine on the top right.

Pashalis, that makes a lot of sense. If one draws a violin string across a metal plate with iron filings on it, it creates a pattern very similar to the patterns of crop circles. By changing the pitch and frequency, the patterns change, but remain symmetrical. Even though the earth's crust appears to be solid, during an earthquake the ground acts like a fluid and moves like a liquid. Aren't crop circles always created in flat even fields? This seems to be a commonality. Possibly these create ideal conditions for the sound based creation of the phenomena. Which leads to the question, are crop circles created by sound emissions from deep within the earth? By whom or what? The purpose appears to be related to passing information.

Crop circles are also created in fields with slight hills, so they're not always even and flat.

Maybe not on hills with very steep inclines?

once a hill gets too steep it can not be plowed/cropped because of the erosion factor
no crop---no cropcircles

Bread and circuses to keep the masses entertained and spoon fed what to believe. It's pathetic how conditioned people a have become that even ridiculous efforts at pseudoscience is enough to convince many of one thing or another.
Yeah Penn and Teller are seem to be working at becoming the modern version of the amazing Randi debunking crew. Just say something ain't so with enough emotional stirring pizazz and whatever you say, must be so. Ain't it so? As far as the circles, there's enough data and detailed observations on them and for so long now, that it's not worth worrying about 'agents' like that. People who do just a little bit of sorting it out, should be able to see what's real about circles and what's not about detractors.

Having looked at some of the crop circle designs, especially the PI crop circle, it seems unlikely that a sound resonant effect such as the one I mentioned above could be possible. Back to the drawing board.
