The Living Force
While meditating and praying this morning, a thought came to me. Regardless of how things ultimately play out, a good part of the emotional reaction to the events of the past couple of days - Trump's apparent concession announcement in particular - is down to anticipation.
We wanted to believe, so badly, that he had a Plan, that the White Hats would ride in at the last minute and save the day. We became emotionally invested in this outcome, despite ourselves - our rational brains telling us this didn't look likely, but being overridden by our emotional centers. The possibility that the cabal would consolidate their rule and bring down the totalitarian boot is simply too horrible to contemplate. This emotional investment in a particular outcome then led directly to wishful thinking, where rather than use our rational faculties to perceive reality as accurately as possible, we used them to look for reasons why reality is as we want it to be. That anticipation therefore led to a kind of passivity.
The opposite of this is intention - thinking torwards something, without anticipating it. How might things have played out differently if, instead of anticipating a last minute Trump victory, we (not just here on the forum, obviously) turned our thoughts towards the intention of defeating TPTB be by strengthening the movement towards a better timeline? Without anticipating what, exactly, that would necessarily look like?
For one thing, there would have been less passivity, since instead of waiting for the cavalry to come, we would be working each moment towards a better future. For another, the emotionally driven thought loop between anticipation and wishful thinking would have been disrupted, enabling us to more accurately perceive reality in any given instance. And finally, there would be less of an emotional reaction to any given setback - the events of the day would be accepted with greater serenity, in turn helping to maintain a rational hold on things.
