‘I’m wondering when we voted to go to war?’ – US Congressman

18 May, 2022
Chip Roy accused his fellow lawmakers of waging a “proxy war” so they can “look all fancy with our blue and yellow ribbons”

Congressman Chip Roy (R-Texas) has condemned House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer for stating that the US is “at war,” presumably with Russia. Roy hammered Democrats and Republicans alike for deepening America’s involvement in the Ukraine conflict in order to “feel good about ourselves.”

In a video clip posted by Roy’s press office on Wednesday, the Texas Republican took aim at Hoyer for declaring on Friday that the US is “at war,” and that critics of the Democratic Party should “focus on the enemy” instead of rising energy costs at home.

“When I hear the majority leader of the other party say ‘a time of war’...I’m wondering when we voted to go to war?” Roy said.

“If we're gonna have a proxy war, and we're gonna give $40 billion to Ukraine, because we want to look all fancy with our blue and yellow ribbons and feel good about ourselves, maybe we should actually have a debate in this chamber,” he continued.

Roy was one of 57 House Republicans who voted against the passage of the $40 billion military and economic aid bill for Ukraine earlier this month. However, the bill had strong bipartisan support and passed with 368 votes to 57. It is now expected to pass the Senate later this week.

Republican lawmakers opposing the bill either argue that the money would be better spent solving domestic issues or that pumping military aid into Ukraine risks drawing the US into war with nuclear-armed Russia, or both.

Roy, who described the bill as “garbage,” reiterated these arguments on Wednesday. “When the border of this country is wide open…and fentanyl is pouring in and we have $30.5 trillion of debt and gas prices are spiking and $1,100 to fill a tank of diesel, and we go ‘oh, blank check for $40 billion.”

“By the way, I’m looking at my colleagues on this side of the aisle on that same point,”
he concluded.

Aside from supporting the $40 billion package making its way through Congress, the Biden administration has already given Ukraine nearly $4 billion worth of weapons since February, has placed an embargo on Russian oil and gas imports, and imposed several rounds of economic sanctions on Moscow.

With the US arming Ukraine and sharing intelligence with Kiev’s forces, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused Washington of waging a “proxy war” against Russia, while Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev claimed on Tuesday that the West has used Ukraine as pretext to fight an “undeclared war” against Russia’s “very statehood.”

"I Am Indeed Out For Blood": Musk Says 2016 Hillary Tweet 'Absolutely' Disinformation, Asks Parag To Weigh In
BY TYLER DURDEN
FRIDAY, MAY 20, 2022 - 06:38 PM

Update (1645ET): Elon Musk has waded into the Sussmann trial - tweeting on Friday that it's "absolutely correct" that a 2016 tweet from Hillary Clinton was "misleading disinformation."

A week before the 2016 election, Clinton notably tweeted "Computer scientists have apparently uncovered a covert server linking the Trump Organization to a Russian-based bank," to which user @veespike asked Musk: "@elonmusk I have reported this tweet as misleading disinformation to the powers that be at @twitter. I would be interested to know if, when you receive control over the company, anything was done with this at any level. Pls advise soonest."

"You are absolutely correct," Musk replied, adding "That tweet is a Clinton campaign hoax for which their campaign lawyer is undergoing a criminal trial."

Musk then asked Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and top Twitter attorney Vijaya Gadde to weigh in.

Musk then got into an argument with a pro-Hillary account, "Tesla Facts" (@truth_tesla), which suggested Elon was lying.

The richest man in the world replied to several other people in the thread. He's gone all-in folks.

Former Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook dropped a bombshell in court on Friday - testifying that Hillary Clinton approved the dissemination of allegations that then-candidate Donald Trump had a covert communications channel with a Russian bank, despite campaign officials not being "totally confident" in the rumor, according to Fox News.

Mook, who was called to the stand by the defense team for former Clinton lawyer Michael Sussmann, was asked under cross-examination about the campaign's understanding of the allegations against Trump, and whether the campaign planned to release it to the media.

He told prosecutor Andrew DeFillippis that he was first briefed by campaign general counsel Marc Elias, who was a partner with Perkins Coie at the time, adding that he was told the data had come from "people that had expertise in this sort of matter."

Mook said the campaign was not totally confident in the legitimacy of the data, but had hoped to give the information to a reporter who could further "run it down" to determine if it was "accurate" or "substantive."

He also said he discussed whether to give the information to a reporter with senior campaign officials, including campaign chairman John Podesta, senior policy advisor, now White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, and communications director Jennifer Palmieri. -Fox News

"I discussed it with Hillary as well," said Mook, who added "I don’t remember the substance of the conversation, but notionally, the discussion was, hey, we have this and we want to share it with a reporter."

When asked how Clinton responded, Mook said: "She agreed to that."

"A reporter could vet the information and then decide to print it," he added.

And then of course, Hillary did this:

Of note, after previously denying the prosecutions request to include the tweet into evidence, he approved it on Friday.

Sussman has been charged with lying to the FBI when he told General Counsel James Baker in September 2016 - less than two months before the US election - that he wasn't doing work "for any client" when he presented the Alfa Bank "purported data and ‘white papers’ that allegedly demonstrated a covert communicates channel" between the Trump organization and the Kremlin-linked Alfa Bank.

Special Counsel John Durham alleges that Sussman was in fact working for the Clinton Campaign and tech executive Rodney Joffe. He has pleaded not guilty.

Did Robby Mook just throw Hillary under the bus? Is that what he testified today?

Biden shouldn’t run again, Democrats tell NYT

12 Jun, 2022
The Democratic Party is finally admitting its octogenarian standard-bearer might not have what it takes to win

Citing “dozens of frustrated Democratic officials, members of Congress and voters,” the New York Times has acknowledged in a Sunday report that incumbent US President Joe Biden could be replaced as the party’s nominee in 2024.

The president is “struggl[ing] to advance the bulk of his agenda,” the article admits, stating the party’s last chance to lure voters “focused on inflation and gas prices” back into the Democrat fold before the midterm elections is to further focus on the already-ubiquitous coverage of the January 6 Capitol riot hearings.

After reassuring its readers that “most top elected Democrats were reluctant” to throw the incumbent under the bus, crediting him with extricating former president Donald Trump from the White House, the newspaper highlighted his administration’s “repeated failures” on “signature Democratic issues” such as abortion, gun control, voting rights, and the expensive Build Back Better program, as well as non-partisan issues such as record inflation and gas prices.

Miami Democratic National Committee member Steve Simeonidis did not mince words regarding his lack of faith in Biden’s ability to win a second term. “To say our country was on the right track would flagrantly depart from reality. [Biden] should announce his intent not to seek re-election in ’24 right after the midterms,” he said.

Others were less blunt. After a disclaimer about how as an incoming freshman congresswoman she wasn’t “allowed to have feelings” regarding Biden’s electability, recent Democrat primary winner Jasmine Crockett pointed to a much-hyped “enthusiasm gap” between the parties. “Democrats are like ‘What the hell is going on?’ Our country is completely falling apart. And so I think we’re lacking in the excitement.

And even the president’s supporters admitted that some serious narrative-fluffing might be required to keep Biden in the White House. Complaining about “leaders in the party” not “more aggressively touting the success of the administration,” former senior Biden adviser Cristobal Alex called for a shift in focus that could only be brought about by “a powerful echo chamber combined with action in Congress on remaining priorities.”

Given the powerful echo chamber of major social media platforms already largely compliant with the administration’s desires, it’s not clear how further narrative muscle could be brought to bear, short of deploying the much-derided Disinformation Governance Board the administration was shamed into pausing last month after it was widely mocked as an Orwellian assault on the First Amendment.

Biden’s approval ratings are running at record lows, with even his own party members reporting uninspiring 73% support last month – the lowest point in his presidency – and just 48% of Democrats calling for him to run again when polled in January. Nationwide approval rates are much lower, with just 36% of respondents saying they view his presidency favorably, the lowest score since he took office in January 2021. A shocking 83% of Americans believe the country is going in the wrong direction.

Of particular concern to would-be Biden boosters are the party’s core constituencies. Recent polls show black voters shunning the president for his failure to follow up on “core promises” made on the campaign trail. Less than a quarter of black voters “strongly approved” of Biden’s performance in a poll conducted earlier this month, and just 64% said they were “absolutely certain” to vote in the midterms, a 20-point drop from last June.

Given that Biden’s primary selling point in 2020 was that he was not Trump, strategists also worry about how he will perform against any non-Trump Republican candidate, especially a younger face such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is widely seen as a potential nominee should Trump decide to stay retired. Given that Biden will be 82 in 2024, even the strategy of avoiding interviews that served him so well during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 is unlikely to hide his frailty from voters. However, the Times declined to float the names of any alternative potentially-victorious Democratic candidates who had not already lost to Biden in the 2020 primary.

New York State Judge Reportedly Strikes Down Law Allowing Non-US Citizens to Vote

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - New York State Supreme Court Justice Ralph Porzio struck down as unconstitutional a New York City law allowing residents who are not US citizens to vote in local elections, the New York Times reported on Monday.

The law, which would have permitted more than 800,000 noncitizens to vote in elections for local positions like mayor, violates the state’s constitutional guidelines allowing only citizens to vote, the report cited Porzio as saying.

The New York City Council passed the law in December and set in to take effect in January of 2023.

However, Porizio said granting noncitizens the right to vote would require a referendum, the report said.

New York State and federal Republican Party officials challenged the law, sparking a national debate about expanding voting rights to noncitizens, the report added.

Fabien Levy, spokesperson for New York City Mayor Eric Adams, said city officials are evaluating how to proceed in light of the ruling, according to the report.

'America is dividing more and more.'

America’s new third party emerges

28 Jul, 2022
The Forward party was created by former Democrats and Republicans who vow to stand against “political extremism”

Former Republicans and Democrats joined forces on Wednesday to create a new Centrist national party to meet the aspirations of Americans that say they are tired of the dysfunctional political system in the US.

The new party, called Forward, is co-chaired by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang and Christine Todd Whitman, the former Republican governor of New Jersey. Although Yang’s Forward Party was initially established in October 2021, it has now merged with two other organizations: the Renew America Movement, of former Republicans, and the bipartisan Serve America Movement.

The leaders of the newly hatched political group hope to challenge the traditional two party system in America, claiming it divides the US into different camps, while the Forward party seeks to bring them together. “Not left. Not right. FORWARD,” the slogan on the party’s website reads.

In an opinion piece in The Washington Post on Wednesday, Forward leaders sounded the alarm over the current state of the US, decrying “political extremism” that “is ripping our nation apart” and is leading to “political intimidation.”

If nothing is done, the United States will not reach its 300th birthday this century in recognizable form,” they wrote, adding that Americans have lost faith in their government.

The United States, they said, “badly needs a new political party — one that reflects the moderate, common-sense majority.” “Today’s outdated parties have failed by catering to the fringes. As a result, most Americans feel they aren’t represented,” the article reads.

To achieve the goal of uniting people, the Forward party seeks to “reinvigorate a fair, flourishing economy,” to “give Americans more choices in elections, more confidence in a government that works,” and “revitalize a culture” that “rejects hate and removes barriers.”

The Forward party intends to gain registration and ballot access in all 50 states by late 2024, just in time for the presidential and congressional elections. It also aims to contest several votes on a local level.

In an interview with Reuters, Andrew Yang pointed out that the party’s initial budget would be about $5 million and would gain considerable financial support from its donors. "We are starting in a very strong financial position. Financial support will not be a problem," Yang said.

The formation of the new party comes after a recent poll suggested that only 13% of Americans believe that the country is headed in the right direction.

130 years later, it looks much the same:

We meet in the midst of a nation brought to the verge of moral, political, and material ruin. Corruption dominates the ballot-box, the Legislatures, the Congress…. The people are demoralized; The newspapers are largely subsidized or muzzled, public opinion silenced, business prostrated, homes covered with mortgages, labor impoverished…. The fruits of the toil of millions are badly stolen to build up colossal fortunes for a few, unprecedented in the history of mankind; and the possessors of these, in turn, despise the Republic and endanger liberty. From the same prolific womb of governmental injustice we breed the two great classes—tramps and millionaires.

Nice one BILLY! Or Forbes whichever one is spreading this about.

"According to Forbes, Gates said" (that's important to remember)

Did Bill Gates Say ‘Hung Election and Civil War’ Are Coming?

According to Forbes, Gates said that "political polarization may bring it all to an end" and referenced "a hung election and a civil war."

"On Sept. 23, 2022, Forbes.com reported exclusively on several remarks made by Bill Gates at the 2022 Forbes 400 Philanthropy Summit."

"As of this writing, we were in the process of attempting to locate a full transcript and potentially a complete video of Gates’ answers at the event."

"The “civil war” quote from the Forbes article led to the publishing of a story by Business Insider titled, “Bill Gates says political polarization ‘may bring it all to an end’ and could even lead to a civil war.” We also found two popular YouTube videos that discussed the quote, one from actor and producer Russell Brand, and another from podcaster Tim Pool’s Timcast IRL. The video titles were, “Hang On, Bill Gates Just Predicted WHAT?” and “Bill Gates Says CIVIL WAR Is Coming, Election Will Be HUNG.”

"We also reached out to the company’s corporate communications team, the summit’s organizers, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This story will be updated."

One of many articles on this subject: (also Tim Pool, and Russell Brand videos)

The word making the rounds all of a sudden is that Gavin Newsom may be who the dems run in 2024! :umm::scared:. Apparently, he appears to be already in campaign mode and going after Ron DeSantis.
In a fair election, I think DeSantis would win. But I also think he would get the Trump treatment in the unlikely event he made it to the Oval Office. He (and others like him) might do the most good regionally.

Tulsi Gabbard leaves Democratic Party, denounces it as 'elitist cabal'

"I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoke anti-white racism," Gabbard said in an excerpt posted to Twitter.

(The video starts a few minutes in, so just back it up)
