Meritaten, Hagar and Brigit
Originally, I never intended writing this post. However, when researching my recent articles concerning Akhenaten, Abraham/Moses, Meritaten, Atenism and the Amarna period, I stumbled across material that made think hard again about the link I have proposed between Meritaten/Hagar/Kore and the Tuatha de Danann Celtic goddess Brigit or Bride, as she is known in Britain.
Those who have followed this thread will know that I strongly suspect there is a link between Meritaten and the legendary Brigit. Although Brigit is universally viewed as a Celtic goddess, a triple goddess at that (as she had two sisters - Brigid the healer and Brigid the smith), like many myths and legends, she may be based loosely on a real flesh and blood person who over the course of time became mythologised and deified. The same is true of the legend of Scota or Scotia, the daughter of an Egyptian pharaoh (Akhenaten) who found her way to Ireland via Spain and then lent her name first to a Gaelic, Celtic tribe called the Scotti or Scottish and then subsequently to a country, Scotland. In my view, Scota and Brigid may be one and the same person.
In previous articles, I have drawn connections between Brigid and comparable ancient Roman, Greek, and Indian goddesses (like Saraswati), some of whom were triple goddesses like Brigid. I have even suggested this triple dimension may indicate a link to the Grail, should the pure crystal skull the Knights Templar called ‘Baphomet’ (which the C’s have old us was the holder of the Trent – signifying perhaps three), which I think could be the Grail, have had a triple aspect inherent in it (three faces or facets maybe), as reflected, for example, in the myth of Perseus and his slaying of the Medusa (a cypher for the Grail). The Medusa was one of three monstrous Gorgon sisters, being the only one that was mortal and could die, thus perhaps representing the present in comparison to the inaccessible past and the future represented by her sisters. The Medusa’s head, which Perseus cut off, was wreathed in writhing snakes, the snake being an ancient metaphor for wisdom, thus establishing a tentative link to the crystal skull ‘Baphomet’, a name which means the ‘baptism of Metis’, Metis being the Greek deity of wisdom. The Roman Stoic commentators allegorised Metis as the embodiment of "prudence”, "wisdom" or "wise counsel", in which form she was then inherited by the Renaissance and thus by the Templars. Hence, wisdom seems to be the connecting theme here.
This ‘head and wisdom’ metaphor is continued with the birth of Metis’s daughter Athena from the head of her father Zeus after Zeus had swallowed the pregnant Metis. Metis crafted armour, a spear, and a shield for her daughter inside the body of Zeus and raised her in Zeus' mind. Athena began to use the spear and shield her mother had made, banging them together to give her father a headache. As a result, Zeus ordered Hephaestus to cut his head open to let out whatever was in there causing his headache. Athena emerged from Zeus's mind in full glory, wearing the armour her mother had made for her. Athena was then made the goddess of wisdom, warfare, and crafts. As we have learned, Pallas Athena became the patron and muse of Sir Francis Bacon (a Rosicrucian master) who used her helmet of invisibility, which Athena had given to Perseus to use in his encounter with Medusa, as the basis for the secret literary society he had initiated within his order known as the ‘Knights of the Helmet’. But Metis and Pallas Athena (the spear shaker) also share a link with Brigit for she too was a goddess associated with wisdom. In another form of her name, Brig, she may be the basis of Britannia (Bri(g)tannia) the national personification of Britain, who, like Athena, is normally depicted as a helmeted female warrior holding a spear and a shield. This was an image first used in classical antiquity, appearing on Roman coins of the 2nd century AD to symbolise the British Royal Navy’s victories, Britannia's spear became the characteristic three pronged trident in 1797, making Britannia a “holder of the Tr[id]ent”.
The Widow’s Son
Perseus has much in common with the Arthurian character of Perceval, the widow’s son, who went in search of the Holy Grail. Both tales involve a Grail quest and the search for wisdom, the finding of which seems to be somehow linked to the Grail itself.
The C’s commented on the esoteric meaning of the ‘Widow’s Son’ and related matters in the
session dated 26 July 1997:
Q: Okay. I have several books on the subject. I will start tomorrow. Now, when the Templars were arrested, they were accused of worshipping a head, or skull, and also the god Baphomet. Were these spurious accusations designed to defame them?
A: Skull was of pure crystal.
Q: What is the definition of the god 'Baphomet,' if they did, indeed, worship such?
A: The holder of the Trent.
Q: What is THAT?
A: Seek.
Q: What is the meaning of 'The Widow's Son?' The implication?
A: Stalks path of wisdom incarnate.
Q: Why is this described as a Widow's son? This was the appellation of Perceval...
A: Perceval was knighted in the court of seven.
Q: The court of seven what?
A: Swords points signify crystal transmitter of truth beholden.
Q: What is the relationship between Perceval, Paran Sikarios, the Assassini, and Ishmael, the son of Hagar, at the well of the mirror?
A: Spear of Destiny*.
*You will note that the last question and answer in the transcript extract above refers to Hagar’s son Ishmael and to Perceval who are linked by Laura with the Paran Sikarios (the Sicarii - the Jewish dagger men and Zealots, who rebelled against Roman rule over Judea) and the Assassini (the Medieval Assassins of the Middle East who were in many ways the Islamic equivalent of the Knights Templar). "Paran" also provides a reference to the desert wilderness where Hagar and her son Ishmael were abandoned by Abraham. Most people link the Spear of Destiny with the Spear of Longinus that was thrust into Christ’s dead body whilst he lay on the cross. However, I don’t think this was the spear the C’s had in mind here. See more on this below.
You will note that the C’s are saying here that the meaning or implication of the ‘Widow’s Son’ is someone who stalks the path of wisdom incarnate (meaning in the flesh). The expression “the Widow’s Son” has a special significance to the Freemasons whose creed the C’s told us (in the same session) was intertwined with ancient order of the Essenes, arising out of ancient Egypt, from the secret knowledge stored at the base of the Sphinx by Atlantean survivors:
Q: Well, then, what IS the explanation for these carvings in Rosslyn Chapel?
A: Visitors yes, but the Masonic creed is intertwined with ancient order of Essenes, arising out of ancient Egypt, from the secret knowledge stored at the base of the Sphinx, as left there by "Atlantean" survivors.
Q: Does anybody in the Masonic order know anything?
A: Yes.
Q: Well, how high do you have to go to get to know anything?
A: Page 33. Blond and blue-eyed, of course! Before genetic alteration, one branch stood eleven feet tall.
The reference to “33” seems to be connected to the highest degree in Scottish Rite Freemasonry and appears also to be linked with a race of giants (the Nephilim?) who were subsequently genetically altered to be smaller. Could this genetic alteration be connected to the Aryan Levites and to Sarah/Nefertiti and, by extension, her children, including her eldest daughter Meritaten/Hagar, as described in this extract from the transcripts:
Q: Is there any other group the Aryans mixed with to produce the Indo-Europeans?
A: Fourth Density genetic tweak.
Q: Was Abraham a Levite?
A: Yes.
Q: Was Sarah Nefertiti?
A: Yes.
Q What was the reason for the strange skull shape of Nefertiti and her family?
A: Genetic tweak.
Q: Was this 4th density genetic tweak done by STS or STO?
A: STS.
In Freemasonry, “the Widow’s Son” has a special significance, especially, as regards the conferment ceremony for the Third Degree of Master Mason, where he represents
Hiram Abiff, the chief architect of King Solomon’s Temple, who can be linked to the biblical
Hyram of Tyre - the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphali. As we know, however, the C’s agreed with Laura’s proposition that there never was a Jewish Temple of Solomon, and they equated Solomon instead with the Egyptian Pharaoh
Narmer:
Q: Was Solomon a king of Egypt?
A: Yes.
Q: Which king of Egypt was the equivalent of Solomon?
A: Narmer.
They also confirmed that the Temple Necropolis on Crete discovered at Knossos was the real source of the legends of the Temple of Solomon, which the Freemasons venerate in their ceremonies and ideology. In an earlier article The Roots of Freemasonry, I noted that according to the Bible, a group called the Fraternity of Dionysian Artificers were supposedly sent by Hiram, King of Tyre, to aid King Solomon in the building of his temple on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. These artificers already had a reputation for building gleaming temples across the Middle East and would, therefore, have been a welcome addition to Solomon’s workforce. Ian Gittins in his book Unlocking the Masonic Code – Secrets of The Solomon Key developed this point when he said:
“
The parallel history of Freemasonry claims that after King Solomon’s Temple was completed. The Dionysian Artificers taught new initiates a discipline that combined architectural know-how with the wisdom and morality of Solomon. Over the following centuries they bestowed this practical and spiritual education on new initiates before eventually passing it on to Pythagoras … This knowledge supposedly passed from Pythagorean teachings into the architectural colleges, or collegia formed by the Romans between the 2nd Century BC and the 4th Century AD.”
Hence, we might ask whether this the ancient mystical collective of architects known as the Fraternity of Dionysian Artificers have assisted in the building of the Temple at Knossos?
Ruth the Moabite
Freemasons learn of the importance of Hiram Abiff, “The Widow’s Son”, at their induction into Freemasonry. However, the Masons appreciate that there are others who are also referred to as “The Widow’s Son”. It seems this is a title to which more than one can be named. Curiously, one school of Masonic thought believes that the use of the title can actually be traced back to the Grail lore traditions, which speak of a descended blood line and specifically reference the biblical character of Ruth.
In the Bible, Ruth was a Moabite (Moab being the name of an ancient Levantine kingdom whose territory is today located in the modern state of Jordan) who was married to Boaz, an Israelite and much older man than her. You will note that Boaz is also the name of a famous pillar in the portico of the historic Temple in Jerusalem, which stood opposite its twin pillar called Joachim. Both these pillars are commemorated in Masonic lodges and temples. Ruth, although not an Israelite, accepted Yahweh, the God of the Israelites, as her God and accepted the Israelite people as her own, thus becoming one the great heroines of the Old Testament. She was also supposedly the Great Grandmother of King David. The story of Ruth may be interpreted as simply a means of teaching Jews that foreigners who convert to Judaism can become good Jews and foreign wives can become exemplary followers of Jewish law, thus there is no good reason to exclude them or their offspring from the community. Indeed, even the names of some of the main participants, given their meanings, suggest the fictional nature of the story. Laura also suspected as much when she once said in the transcripts: “(L) I begin to smell a rat! We have read that David's grandmother, Ruth, was a Moabite. That story is a whole other mystery too”.
Quoting now from a Masonic source - All the descendants of Ruth were known simply as “Sons of the Widow”. A genetic title if you will. A genealogy can be traced since Ruth gives birth to the first “Son of the Widow”, Obed, who grows up and bears a son Jesse, who in turn bears a son David, the first King of Israel who begats [the mythical] Solomon and Nathan. Using the lineage given in the Gospels of the Christian New Testament, Jesus of Nazareth is a descendant of Ruth, making him also, a “Son of the Widow” or “Widow’s Son”. There are supposedly forty-five generations from Ruth to Jesus. But nowhere in the lineage mentioned in the Bible does it refer to Hiram Abiff. Knowing this, it seems the trail grows cold in the search for Hiram Abiff’s title of “The Widow’s Son”. The Grail legends were written in a way that lends itself to allegory and therefore, the story cannot be just assumed to mean that Hiram was literally a son of woman who had lost her husband. These legends early on establish this title and what it means, which is a descendant of Ruth or more aptly a descendant of Boaz. Determining that the term “Widow’s Son”, a flip flop of the term “Sons of the Widow,” was not actually meant to refer to a man whose father had passed away, but rather the epithet given to the offspring and lineage of Ruth, heroine of “The Book of Ruth” or “Scroll of Ruth” as presented in the Old Testament.
Zipporah the Wife of Moses and Keturah the Wife of Abraham
However, could this fictional lineage of Ruth possibly be hiding a reference to a real line of descent? Boaz was not the only prominent Israelite to marry a foreign woman. In the Bible, Moses whilst in exile after killing an Egyptian slave master, was supposed to have married Zipporah the daughter of Ruel/Jethro who was a priest and prince of Midian. Midian was a geographical region in the northwest Arabian Peninsula, on the east shore of the Gulf of Aqaba. Quoting Wikipedia:
It is uncertain which deities the Midianites worshipped. Through their apparent religious-political connection with the Moabites [Ruth’s people], they are thought to have worshipped a multitude, of deities including Baal-peor and Ashtoreth, the Queen of Heaven. According to one archaeological source: "By the 14th century BC [N.B. the age of Akhenaten], groups of Edomites and Midianites worshipped Yahweh as their God." This conclusion is based on identification between the Midianites and the Shasu.
According to the Book of Genesis, the Midianites were the descendants of Midian, who was a son of Abraham and his second wife Keturah. If Abraham and Moses are one and the same person, as the C’s confirmed, then Moses could not have been marrying a descendant of Abraham. Nevertheless, we know that Abraham/Moses did marry or take Nefertiti/Sarah as a wife and she bore him a son, Isaac. We also know that he had a relationship with her daughter Meritaten/Hagar, as reflected in the Bible story of Hagar the Egyptian maidservant, which produced a son Ishmael. Keturah was a wife and a concubine of Abraham who according to the Book of Genesis, Abraham married after the death of his first wife, Sarah. Thus, Keturah may be an allusion to Meritaten/Hagar/Kore who became a concubine of Abraham/Moses during the Israelites’ sojourn in the Sinai wilderness. Indeed, Keturah may also be linked to Korah and the rebellion against Moses, as discussed in my previous article. Interestingly, Korah is represented as the possessor of extraordinary wealth, having discovered one of the treasures which Joseph had hidden in Egypt. This treasure sounds to me very much like the Grail, which Meritaten may have been a custodian of.
According to Jewish Rabbis, the main cause of Korah's revolt was the nomination of
Elizaphan, son of Uzziel, as prince over the Kohathites, Korah arguing thus: "
Kohath had four sons. The two sons of Amram, Kohath's eldest son, took for themselves the kingdom and the priesthood. Now, as I am the son of Kohath's second son, I should be made prince over the Kohathites; however, Moses gave that office to Elizaphan, the son of Kohath's youngest son".
This may be a veiled reflection of the dispute between Nefertiti/Sarah and Meritaten/Hagar over whose son should have precedence as heir to Abraham/Moses. Another possibility is that Abraham/Moses had, as the C’s revealed in the transcripts, become a tyrant by this time, since the Biblical narrative tells us that Korah incited all the people against Moses, arguing that it was impossible to endure the laws Moses had instituted.
Moses' wife is also referred to as a "
Cushite woman" in Numbers 12. Interpretations differ on whether this Cushite woman was one and the same as Zipporah, or another woman. In the story, Aaron and Miriam (Moses’s sister) criticise Moses's marriage to a Cushite woman. This criticism displeases God, who then punishes Miriam with
tzaraath (often glossed as leprosy). This is a curious detail, as we know from the C’s that Miriam’s presence in the Exodus story is a fiction, as most likely is that of Aaron too:
Q: (L) So, she didn't get leprosy. That means that Miriam was not part of the Helen/Nefertiti/Sarah element, is that it?
A: Yes.
Session 2 February 2003:
Q: (L) We have the brother issue to deal with. We have Abraham and his nephew, Lot. Then we have Moses and Aaron, Jacob and Esau, Isaac and Ishmael. Were all of these sets of brothers just different aspects or views on the same stories, a set of singular individuals, whether brothers or not?
A: Pretty much though with added elements from other stories blended in.
Q: (L) Was it a brother/brother relationship as in actual brothers?
A: No. The "brother" relationship was created to legitimize a "false" line of transmission.
Q: (L) So there wasn't a brother, or Aaronic relationship present, assuming any part of that story was true. Is that it?
A: Yes.
However, we do know that plague (involving leprosy) was rife in the Middle East at the time of the Exodus, so this reference to leprosy may be an echo of the true Exodus story. Interestingly, in the list of brothers Laura provides above, the only true brother relationship was that of Isaac and Ishmael who both shared Abraham as a father. May we therefore take it from this that the true line of transmission is the one that ran through Ishmael via his Perseid mother Meritaten/Hagar/Kore?
Curiously, the medieval Jewish commentator
Rashi - a medieval French rabbi (1040–1105AD) who was the author of comprehensive commentaries on the Talmud and Hebrew Bible - and some previous rabbinical commentators, supported this notion by relating a traditional belief that
Keturah was the same person as Hagar, although this idea cannot be found in the biblical text. One has to wonder whether Rashi obtained this idea from secret sources. It is interesting to note that Rashi was born and lived in Troyes, Champagne in northern France, a city which would have strong associations with the Knights Templar and the place where the modern Grail stories would emanate from, starting with the Arthurian Grail tales of
Chrétien de Troyes in the late 12th Century.
The Midianites themselves were later depicted at times in non-Biblical sources as dark-skinned people called the
Kushim, a Hebrew word normally used for dark-skinned Africans. One interpretation is that the wife is in fact Zipporah, and that she was referred to as a
Cushite, though she was a Midianite, because of her beauty. This last reference makes one think of the meaning of Nefertiti’s name, which was “
The Beautiful Woman Has Come”. However, judging from the well-preserved bust of Nefertiti displayed in the Berlin Museum, she certainly did not have an African appearance. However, that is not the case with her daughter Meritaten who, based on the bust shown below that is thought to be of Meritaten, does have a definite more African appearance. Thus, could Zipporah, like Keturah, have been Meritaten/Hagar? Curiously, the rabbis of the Talmudic era explained the name "Korah" as meaning "
baldness". This indeed reflects the appearance of Meritaten in the bust shown below.
View attachment 75918
This baldness is explained in the Bible where Korah consults with his wife, who encouraged him in the revolt, and she says: "
See what Moses has done. He has proclaimed himself king; he has made his brother high priest, and his brother's sons priests; moreover, he has made you shave all your hair in order to disfigure you." Korah answered: "
But he has done the same to his own sons." His wife replied: "
Moses hated you so much that he was ready to do evil to his own children provided the same evil would overtake you".
However, according to the description of the seventh degree in the Egyptian pilgrimage of initiation, which I discussed in my article
The Egyptian Pilgrimage of Initiation (see more below), when a candidate became a new member of the Illuminati (an Essene?), the initiated adept was dressed in a white striped robe and had their head shaved. Could this be what explains Meritaten’s appearance in the bust and, if so, does this back up my assertion that she may have been an initiated Essene?
A further confirmation of Zipporah being Meritaten/Hagar may come again from the Bible where after Moses succeeded in leading the Israelites out of Egypt, and won a battle against Amalek, his father-in-law Reuel/Jethro came to the Hebrew camp in the wilderness of Sinai, bringing with him Zipporah and their two sons, Gershom and Eliezer. The Bible does not say when Zipporah and her sons re-joined Reuel/Jethro, only that after he heard of what God did for the Israelites, he brought Moses' family to him. The most common translation is that Moses then sent her away. Again, one wonders whether the true reality was that Meritaten/Hagar abandoned Egypt and her husband
Smenkhkare and joined Abraham/Moses and her mother somewhere in the Sinai wilderness where she became his lover and concubine and, as a result, fell out with her jealous mother. The reference to Zipporah and her children being sent away by Moses may therefore be a reference to Abraham leaving Hagar and Ishmael in the Desert of Paran, where, as the Greek mythological characters of
Helle and
Phrixus, they are transported by the Golden Ram (
the Grail?) to Colchis (
in Ireland or Britain?). This brings us full circle back to Brigid again, which is where we came in.
Hecate
However, Brigid may not be the only ancient deity with links to Meritaten/Hagar/Kore.
Hecate or
Hekate was a goddess in ancient Greek mythology, most often depicted holding a pair of torches, a key, snakes, or accompanied by dogs, and in later periods depicted as
three-formed or
triple-bodied. Thus, once again we see a reference to snakes symbolising wisdom and a triple aspect to this goddess, which may signify the triple nature of the Grail. In artwork, she is often portrayed in three statues standing back-to-back, each with its own special attributes (torch, keys, daggers, snakes, dogs).
While Greek anthropomorphic conventions of art generally represented Hecate's triple form as three separate bodies, the iconography of the triple Hecate eventually evolved into representations of the goddess with a single body, but
three faces. In Egyptian-inspired Greek esoteric writings connected with Hermes Trismegistus, and in the Greek Magical Papyri of Late Antiquity, Hecate is described as having
three heads: one dog, one serpent
[MJF: shades of Medusa], and one horse.
Hecate is variously associated with
crossroads, entranceways, night, light, magic, protection from witchcraft, the Moon, the knowledge of herbs and poisonous plants, graves, ghosts, necromancy, and sorcery.
Besides crossroads, Hecate was also associated with borders, city walls, doorways and, by extension, with realms outside or beyond the world of the living. She appears to have been particularly associated with being '
between' and hence is frequently characterised as a "
liminal" goddess, i.e., a god believed to oversee a state of transition of some kind, such as, the old to the new, the unconscious to the conscious state, the familiar to the unknown. This might link her to a bi-density being, one who is able to transition from 3rd to 4th density. This association might also link her to portals taking a person from one dimension or density to another. Thanks to her association with boundaries and the liminal spaces between worlds, Hecate is also recognized as a chthonic (underworld) goddess. As the holder of the
keys that can unlock the gates between realms, she can unlock the gates of death and Hell.
By the 1st century AD, Hecate's chthonic and nocturnal character had led to her transformation into a goddess heavily associated with witchcraft, magic, and sorcery. In Lucan’s
Pharsalia, the witch
Erichtho invokes Hecate as "
Persephone, who is the third and lowest aspect of Hecate, the goddess we witches revere", and describes her as a "
rotting goddess" with a "
pallid decaying body", who has to "
wear a mask when [she]
visit the gods in heaven." This description puts me very much in mind of the images of
Hel in Norse mythology, a female goddess of death who is said to preside over an underworld realm of the same name (from which the English the name of “Hell” is derived), where she receives a portion of the dead. Her appearance is described as half blue, rotting like a corpse, and half flesh-coloured and further as having a gloomy, downcast appearance. As I have suggested before, this may suggest a link to leprosy and to the Greek mythic character of Helle, who shares a name eerily similar to Hel and may in turn be Meritaten/Hagar, some of whose sisters possibly died from leprosy - she may even have had the condition herself.
Some of these witchcraft, sorcery and magic associations also make me think of Nefertiti but, if Meritaten was an Essene initiated to the seventh degree (equivalent perhaps to the 33rd degree in modern Freemasonry) and thus an Illuminati adept, she would no doubt have had a good training in the sciences of Egypt, including alchemy, astrology and biology etc., which might have led her to be portrayed as a sorceress in the same way that
John Dee is today viewed as an Elizabethan magus. However, it is the goddesses’ connection to crossroads that really interests me here, since it makes me think again of the C’s statement:
A: Arcadia is a crossroads for the one Essene, the Aryan one of Trent.
As to the reference to the “Trent” and its link to “three”, it is interesting that the Romans knew Hecate by the epithet of
Trivia, an epithet she shares with the Roman goddess Diana/Greek Artemis, each in their roles as
protector of travel and of the crossroads (“
trivia” meaning literally "three ways"). So, Hecate links us both to crossroads and three ways.
The origin of the name
Hecate and the original country of her worship are both unknown, though several theories have been proposed. The word "
heka" in the Egyptian language is also both the word for "magic" and the name of the god of magic and medicine, Heka.
Hecate remained a Great Goddess into historical times, at her unrivalled cult site in Lagina, which was a town in the territory of
Stratonicea, in ancient Caria in southeast Anatolia – a region close by to Wilusa (which is linked with the Trojans). If Meritaten was the model or basis for the Greek goddess Hecate, there may be a perverse irony operating here, since the two brothers currently searching for the Oak Island treasure, which may be linked to the Ark of the Covenant and the Grail by virtue of being a TDARM, have the surname of
Lagina.
The hekataion (see above) depicted Hecate as three women encircling a central column. The three-part goddess was able to keep watch in all directions and this became standard in both written and visual representations. Do these three directions reflect the past, present and future in the same way that the three Gorgons (Medusa and her sisters) may have done? Moreover, as I mentioned above, Brigid was also said to have had two sisters, Brigid the Healer and Brigid the Smith, suggesting she may have been a goddess with three forms or personas, perhaps being indicative of the Grail.
However, the reason I most suspect a connection between Hecate and Meritaten/Hagar is that in Greek mythology her father is Perses and her mother Asteria (who were two second-generation Titans – an indirect reference to scaled down Nephilim hybrids perhaps) and Hecate is often called “Perseis” (meaning “daughter of Perses”). Moreover, the C’s described Kore as the last of the “Perseids”, which is almost identical to Perseis save for the addition of the letter “d”. Is this just coincidence? Apart from the similarity of these two names, “Perses” is also identical to the name of Perseus, the mythical founder of Mycenae, slayer of the Medusa and the rescuer of Andromeda. Finally, the name “Perseis” is also etymologically similar to Persephone (MJF: who is a candidate for the female shepherdess depicted in Nicolas Poussin’s painting of The Shepherds of Arcadia). In Greek literature, there was a clear link made between Hecate, Demeter, and Persephone, with the three goddesses all sharing an association with the underworld. They were also linked together in the Greek mystery cults.
In mythology, Persephone would descend to the underworld each autumn or fall for six months, symbolising the end of summer and the onset of winter. By tradition, her mother Demeter would then descend to the underworld every spring in order to bring Persephone back to the surface for six months (a tradition strikingly similar to that of the Babylonian goddess Inanna). Autumn is marked by deciduous trees shedding their leaves, which people then trample upon. This includes apple trees where at the centre of an apple you will find the core with its apple pips or seeds (representing new life). These themes were reflected in comments made by the C’s in the session dated 16 August 1997 in what seems to have be a clear reference to Kore/Meritaten/Hagar:
Q: I noticed in Genesis Chapter 33, verse 11, it says that Jacob, who wrestled with the angel the previous night and was on his way to see his brother Esau, who he had tricked into giving up his blessing years before, “gave Esau the blessing”. What was this? The birthright from his father or the blessing Jacob received from the angel?
A: Trampled leaves of wrath. [MJF: the “blessing” being Kore and the wrath meaning Nefertiti/Sarah’s spiteful anger directed against Meritaten/Hagar]
Q: This is what Jacob gave to Esau? [Jacob here being Abraham/Moses]
A: Yes, and what is the "core" meaning there? [MJF: this seems to be a reference to Hagar/Kore and may be directed at her special DNA, genetics, and bloodline that she possessed as the last living member of the Perseids]
Q: I don't know. What is the core meaning? [MJF: See the extract from the session dated 2 February 2003 below, where the C’s openly linked the meaning of core to Kore]
A: Leaves are of the Tree of Apples, from whence we get the proverbial "grapes of wrath," the Blue Apples incarnate!
MJF: “Blue apples” may signify Hagar/Kore’s royal bloodline since royalty are often referred to as having “blue blood”. However, it probably has a meaning which goes much deeper.
The reference to the “proverbial grapes of wrath” links us to the Book of Revelation (Apocalypse) Chapter 14:19-20, which states: “ So the angel swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth and threw them into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.” This denotes the soul harvest at the end of time or end of days, which therefore corresponds to the harvest at the end of the Great Cycle the C’s have spoken about, when the earth transitions from being a 3rd density realm to a 4th density realm.
However, “grapes of wrath” also has a second more down to earth meaning, which is “an unjust or oppressive situation, action, or policy that may inflame desire for vengeance - an explosive condition”. This secondary meaning could be applicable either to the situation Meritaten/Hagar found herself in when facing the wrath of her jealous mother Nefertiti/Sarah or to the violent dispute between Meritaten/Hagar and an increasingly more tyrannical Abraham/Moses, which may have culminated in the Battle of Gibeah involving the Israelite tribe of Benjamin and/or the conflict with Moses depicted in the story of the rebellion of Korah, as discussed above.
Q: Why are these leaves 'trampled?'
A: Removes chlorophyll.
Q: What is the significance of the chlorophyll?
A: When the chlorophyll dies, the autumnal equinox is at hand. [MJF: This is when Persephone, as a nature or corn goddess, descends into the underworld for six months, reflecting how nature enters into a stasis during winter whilst awaiting the spring, when seeds burst forth from the earth and new life emerges in what is a continuous cycle.]
Q: Did this signify something about the autumnal equinox?
A: Discover what the significance is, my Dear!
As goddesses that straddled the boundary between this world and the afterlife, Hecate, Demeter, and Persephone were believed to be the keys to uncovering the secrets of what lay beyond that boundary. There is a belief that the three goddesses may once have been viewed as aspects of a singular, earlier deity and they were also sometimes represented with the familiar triple goddess aspects of the maiden, mother, and the crone.
As I mentioned above, the name “Perseis” also seems very close to that of “Perseid”, the family line the C’s intimated that Meritaten/Hagar/Kore belonged to, and reminds me of what the C’s said about Kore in the session dated 2 February 2003:
Q: (L) So, he returned the ark to the so-called angel. And then, he gave something to someone else. Previously, when I asked about this, you said that what he gave to Esau was "trampled leaves of wrath, the blue apples incarnate," and remarked that I should inquire into the "core meaning."
A: And who was "Kore?"
Q: (L) Was this Abraham's daughter?
A: It was the last living member of the Perseid family.
Q: (L) Was it a male or female?
A: Female.
Q: (L) And how did Abraham come to be in possession of this female?

Q: (L) Going back to this person - the last living member of the Perseid family - who was handed over by Abraham in his Jacob persona to someone else, who was this person handed over to and why?
A: For protection from the fury of "Helen." [
Nefertiti/Sarah]
Q: (L) So, there is a reflection of that in the story of Hagar the Egyptian. Who was she handed over to?
A: The "Dragon Slayers".
But even better than this, Perses (whose name in Greek means “destroyer”) is in Greek mythology the brother of
Aeëtes, the
king of Colchis, who had been warned by an oracle that great peril would come to him if the Golden Fleece was ever removed from Colchis. Thus, through Perses we can establish a potential link between Hecate and Helle - and by extension Meritaten/Hagar and Kore – to the Grail. This link is supported further by the knowledge that Hecate, the goddess of witchcraft, was closely associated with plant lore and the concoction of medicines, and poisons, which also establishes a connection to
Medea, the daughter of Hecate, who, as a witch, was practised at making concoctions and poisons (see more below). Hecate was also supposed to have had a “botanical garden” on the
island of Colchis where a number of Alkaloid plants were kept. Alkaloid plants have pronounced physiological actions on humans and include many drugs (e.g., morphine, quinine etc.) and poisons.
Although the human character of Perses is meant to be distinct from the Titan known as Perses, who was the father of Hecate the goddess of witchcraft,
Diodorus Siculus in his
Bibliotheca historica made this Perses the father of Hecate by an unknown mother; Perses' brother Aeëtes then married Hecate and had
Medea and
Circe by her. Diodorus also described Perses as "exceedingly cruel" and "lawless".
So, it is possible that Princess Meritaten may have been transmogrified over time through the mythic process (as discussed by Laura) into the deities of the Greek Hecate and the Celtic Brigid, both of whom were triple goddesses, perhaps signifying Meritaten’s relationship to a Grail which has a triple aspect.
The Dragon Slayers
I have been puzzled for some time by the C’s reference (see the transcript above) to the “Dragon Slayers” and I wondered whether they had meant Jason and his Argonauts who were central characters in the famous Greek story concerning Jason’s quest for the Golden Fleece (a cypher for a Grail quest). In that story, Jason rescues the witch Medea after she helped Jason steal the Fleece (the Grail) in Colchis. Perses then usurped the throne of Colchis from his brother Aeëtes, but was subsequently slain by Medea, his paternal niece, who restored her father to the throne, as an oracle had once predicted that he would be slain by his own kin.
When Abraham/Moses took Nefertiti/Sarah as a wife, Meritaten automatically became his niece by marriage. However, if Abraham/Moses was Crown Prince Thutmose, then he would have been viewed as Meritaten’s paternal uncle too (although perhaps not biologically for the reasons stated in my earlier article). Could this story therefore be a mythicised reflection of Meritaten’s husband, Smenkhkare, seizing the throne from his older brother Akhenaten (Aeëtes) when the latter was indisposed through a mental breakdown? If so, does this suggest that Meritaten turned against her husband out of loyalty to her father and paid the usurper back by poisoning him?
However, if Jason (who is an archetypal “dragon slayer” in the Golden Fleece story) is really a caricature of Abraham/Moses who rescued Meritaten/Hagar and her mother Nefertiti/Sarah from captivity in Egypt, who then were the Dragon Slayers he handed her over to in his Abraham persona somewhere in the Sinai Wilderness (the Desert of Paran)?
Well, the answer may come as a bit of a surprise, but I stumbled across a website recently discussing the Tuatha De Danann and to my surprise it revealed that they were also known as “Anu’s Dragon Masters” named after the Sumerian god Anu or An, a sky god who was the king or chief of the Anunnaki - or alternatively the ancient goddess Danu (see more on this below). Here is the quote:
“People from the Israeli tribe of Dan mingled with the Canaanite Tuatha De Danann, also known as Anu’s Dragon Masters, who are said to be descendants of the Anunnaki of the ancient Sumerians. This is also one of the interpretations of the Sons of God who mingled with the “human daughters” mentioned in the story of the Nephilim in the sixth chapter of Genesis.”
The writer clearly links the tribe of Dan here with the Canaanites (the damned children of Cain?) and the Tuatha de Danann, who are meant to be descendants of the Anunnaki giants (the sons of Anak) or the Biblical Nephilim. In the transcripts, the C’s linked the Anunnaki to the Kantekkians:
Q: (L) How did the people of that planet come to earth? Did they know it was going to be destroyed?
A: Some knew and were taken by Lizzies and they are the Annunaki.
Although elsewhere they rather confusingly referred to the Anunnaki as aliens:
Q: (L) Who were the Annunaki?
A: Aliens.
Q: (L) Where were they from?
A: Zeta Reticuli
As we know, the Zeta Reticuli system is also the home of the alien greys who the C’s link with the STS Orions. Does this mean that the Greys had transported the Anunnaki first to Kantek and then, when that planet exploded, subsequently to Earth? Although the Anunnaki gods included Enlil (the instigator of the Deluge) and Enki (the genetic engineer who created human beings), the C’s rather revealingly told us that these beings were in fact Cassiopaeans:
Q: (L) Who were Enlil and Enki, the Annunaki of Sumerian stories?
A: Great teachers.
Q: (L) Were they human or extraterrestrial?
A: Extraterrestrial.
Q: (L) Where did they come from?
A: Cassiopaea.*
*MJF: which suggests that some of the Sumerian Anunnaki may have been descended from the group which the C’s said they had been in contact with before Kantek exploded. Was this group later linked to the Scythian Celts, who would go on to become the Scots or Scottish?
Session 24 September 1995:
Q: (L) I am curious about what I call the "Scottish Question." Why is it that every time I start a paper trail on any issue of conspiracy, there always seems to be a link to Scotland and Scots?
A: "Celtic," what does it mean?
Q: (L) Well, the word "kilt" comes from "Celtic," but no one seems to know where they originated... they just sort of appeared on the landscape, so to speak.
A: Exactly!
Q: (L) Are you going to tell us?
A: No, not just as of yet.
Q: (L) So, there is some interesting connection! (RC) Does it mean "warrior race?"
A: If you prefer! We have close affiliation with the "Northern Peoples". Why? Because we were in regular, direct contact with them on Kantek, before they were "lifted" to Earth by Orion STS.
Just to confuse things further, "Annunaku" was the Akkadian name for a group of gods of the underworld. The Akkadian (Arcadia?) civilisation followed the Sumerian civilisation and would in due course be conquered by Sargon the Great, a Semite, Scythian Celt and a ‘deep level punctuator’ coming from the subterranean civilisation of the Nation of the Third Eye. This link to the underworld/Nation of the Third Eye is curious given that we know from the C’s that Nefertiti, an Aryan Hittite hybrid, also came from there. Moreover, legend tells us that when the Gaels or Milesian defeated the Tuatha de Danann (Brigid’s people), the Tuatha retired to the Netherworld, which may be code for the subterranean civilisation of the Nation of the Third Eye. Recall also that the goddess Hecate, like the Norse goddess Hel, was also connected to the underworld. Is this just a coincidence? If not, does it mean there was a connection between Meritaten and the Nation of the Third Eye?
The Amalekites
One Canaanite tribal group that the Dragon Slayers might be identified with were the
Amalekites, who were considered to be
Amalek's descendants through the [
false] genealogy of Esau. According to the Bible, Amalek was the son of
Eliphaz (himself the son of Esau, ancestor of the Edomites who were kinsmen of the Israelites) and Eliphaz's concubine
Timna, who was a Horite, a people who inhabited the region around Mount Seir in Canaan (which in reality may have been the region of Petra in today’s Jordan, where the real Mount Seir, Sinai or Horeb was located). The Amalekites appeared to have lived a nomadic or seminomadic lifestyle along the fringes of southern Canaan. However, the Amalekites, although seemingly kinsmen of the Israelites, were their sworn enemies in the Bible and would eventually be conquered by Joshua and absorbed into the Israelites. Although Egyptian and Assyrian monumental inscriptions and records of the period survive which list various tribes and peoples of the area, no reference has ever been found to Amalek or the Amalekites. Hence, these people could have been a biblical invention as some historians think. For example, the archaeologist and historian
Hugo Winkler suggested in 1895 that there were never any such people and the Biblical stories concerning them are entirely mythological and ahistorical.
However, the Biblical story contains another reference to a concubine,
Timna, who again may be a cypher for Hagar, Abraham’s concubine. There may be support for this notion since, according to a
Midrash (a Jewish biblical exegesis), Amalek's mother Timna was
a princess who had tried to convert to Judaism but had been rejected by Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob. She replied she would rather be a handmaiden to the dregs of this nation than be the mistress of another Nation; to punish the Patriarchs for the affront they had made her, she was made the mother of Amalek, whose descendants would cause Israel much distress. As we know, Hagar was an Egyptian princess (Meritaten), fervent Atenist and concubine of Abraham who was ultimately rejected by him and exiled in the wilderness. If Timna was Meritaten/Hagar, this would make Amalek the real person of
Ishmael, her son by Abraham. Further support for this notion can be found by another
Midrash, where the Amalekites were viewed as sorcerers who could transform themselves to resemble animals, in order to avoid capture. This brings in to play the concept of shapeshifting, a 4th density capability, and, as we saw above, Meritaten as personified by the deity Hecate (or the witch Medea in the Argonauts story) can be linked with magic and sorcery – something the fabled Tuatha de Danann were linked to as well. Whatever the truth of the matter, in Jewish folklore, the Amalekites were considered to be the absolute symbol of evil.
The Anakim
Another Canaanite group who might fit the description of the ‘Dragon Slayers’ are the
Anakim who are mentioned in the Bible as a race of giant humanoids descended from Anak, who lived in the southern part of the land of Canaan, near Hebron. Genesis 14:5-6, however, states that they inhabited the region later known as Edom (thus linking them with the Edomites) and Moab (linking them also with the Moabites) in the days of Abraham. Curiously, their name may come from a Hebrew root meaning "
necklace" or "
neck-chain" making me think of the ornate Egyptian faience necklace that Pharoah
Tutankhamun (see below) was wearing when his mummified body was discovered by
Howard Carter. Meritaten’s son Ishmael may have worn a similar necklace as a badge of royalty. You may also recall in an earlier article that I mentioned a Late Bronze Age tomb that was discovered by archaeologists at the Hill of Tara in Ireland, where the skeleton of a teenage boy was found wearing a very similar necklace. Could this be proof that a group of Egyptians did land in Ireland in the Late Bronze Age, and, if so, were they brought there by the fabled Tuatha de Danaan – the sons of Anak?
According to the Book of Numbers, Anak was a forefather of the Anakim. However, I cannot ignore the etymological similarity between “Anak” and “Anu” and the “Anakim” with the “Anunnaki”. The sons of Anak are first mentioned in Numbers 13 when the Israelite leader Moses sends twelve spies representing the Twelve Tribes of Israel to scout out the land of Canaan. The scouts report to Moses and the congregation, that "
the land indeed is a land flowing with milk and honey". However, in
Numbers 13:33, ten of the twelve spies state that the inhabitants of the land are descended from the
Nephilim (the giant children of the fallen angels as described in Chapter 6 of Genesis), discouraging the Israelites from even attempting to possess the land. They reported that the men were taller and stronger than the Israelites, and that they felt like grasshoppers in their presence. No doubt this report may have contained a bit of hyperbole but the biblical text states that the giant stature of the Anakim was the standard by which other giant races were measured, such as the Rephaites, Joshua finally expelled the Anakim from the land, except for some who found a refuge in the Philistine cities of Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod, leading some scholars to conclude that the Philistine giants such as Goliath whom the young David encountered (2 Samuel 21:15-22) were descendants of the Anakim.

Interestingly, there seems to be some archaeological evidence for a people called the Anakim in Egyptian records since the Egyptian
Execration texts of the
Middle Kingdom (2055-1650 BC) mention a list of political enemies in Canaan, and among this list are a group called the "
ly Anaq" or people of Anaq.
The Tuatha de Danaan were described in Irish myths as giants having red hair and green or blue eyes possessing superhuman abilities and skills, which tends to suggest a possible link with the Sumerian Anunnaki, who were also depicted as giants with superhuman abilities and skills (think of the Sumerian hero
Gilgamesh for example - perhaps the original archetype for Heracles and Samson). Indeed, by the classical age of Greece they may even have morphed into the Titans under the leadership of Kronos who fought the gods of Olympus.
Were the Tuatha de Danaan sons of Anak and/or Anunnaki descendants, and, if so, were they related to the Nephilim hybrids the C’s spoke of in connection with the magical speaking head of Bran (a cypher for the Grail - possibly the crystal skull called Baphomet) in the
session dated 19 April 1997:
Q: Am I correct in my assessment that the origin of the Grail stories was the story of the Head of Bran?
A: But what was the "origin" of Brahna?
Q: Well, from the way I am interpreting what I have found, I have two possibilities: One is the Celts from Kantek, and two: a Nephilim hybrid.
A: Could be one and the same.
Were they also connected to the “Page 33” people (the giants mentioned in Laura’s Tenerife guidebook) in the
session dated 26 July 1997:
A: Page 33. Blond and blue-eyed, of course! Before genetic alteration, one branch stood eleven feet tall.
Thus, can we say that “Anu’s Dragon Masters” were what the C’s meant by the “Dragon Slayers”, Jason and his Argonauts being merely a much later Greek cover story (although the legend of the Argonauts is among the earliest known to the Greeks) for the Tuatha de Danann and their rescue of Meritaten/Hagar/Kore from Nefertiti/Sarah’s fury?
