Anomalous Shadows

A good observation indeed. I do agree these can be cause by the wake of an aircraft which would explain why there are two "fallstreak holes" due to patterns of air traffic. On that note, I would like for you to focus your attention on the areas where the apparent hole is. In the explanation from Wikipedia that you have chosen to cite (without giving any credit to it's source), I might add that there are faint breaks (vains) that continue and align with those of the surrounding more pronounced layer of the cloud. If there was a wake streak it would disturb the surrounding layer of clouds and thus displace or even eliminate the continuous "vain" that sits between the clouds.

Perhaps, but there is no reason to believe these particular hole punch clouds were made by an aircraft.

Keeping that in mind, would a shadow cast on the layer of cloud from above not create the illusion of color similar to that of the surrounding blue sky ?

Probably not. A shadow cast from above would likely create the illusion of a darker patch of sky. Although there is no way to know without actually creating the shadow on the specific day with specific cloud formation.

However, a hole in the cloud would show the color of the sky behind that was identical to the sky outside the clouds, which is the case in these images.

No triggered emotions this time. Just observation.
Not sure if that's correct, otherwise you would not have bothered to specifically reply to this comment. And you did include "this time" which tells me that there is a past of you doing so. But no worries as it is forgiven, we all are not perfect. I myself did this too, before I acquired the knowledge and understanding of why it manifests and how to resolve it, thanks to the C's. My reply was not a sarcastic one, nor aimed to hurt you in any way, understand this. Besides, I suggest you take a closer look at the logic behind it... why did you even say such a thing in your response to me ? My reply was not even directed towards you, in fact, you weren't even part of the picture yet 🤣 Ponder this .... Everyone should be responsible for their OWN actions, otherwise no growth will occur.
Moving forward, let's just assume that this is not a case of you being emotionally compromised. The fact that you have made such a statement towards me is in line with protecting your fellow mate. Is this not an infringement upon his or her free will ? Have they not the right to their own response without any outside interference in this case ? So please, this isn't about protecting others on this forum, we are all on our own paths. There is absolutely NO REASON TO BAND TOGETHER just because of disagreement. ON THE CONTRARY, logic and difference of opinion must be utilized in order for ALL to GROW as a WHOLE.

Thank you for your perspective on the matter along with your participation 👍💯 That is all there is to it. This is indeed why the thread was created in the first place.

well, you were rude when someone presented a possible answer, and someone pointed this rudeness out. If you did not wish to have potentially differing opinions on the pictures posted, then maybe you shouldn't have posted them. I think you're making it bigger than it actually is.

Regarding the clouds, well it is a funky phenomena, but it doesn't mean there were three motherships hovering above town, even if they're shadows, there's more information needed to decipher what could have been projecting such a shadow, it could be another set of clouds, and the time of day, the month of the year, the hemisphere, it all matters. I suppose the question is, were you interested in the origin of what you photographed? or were you more interested in validating something you had already concluded about the pictures?

I think you are making it bigger then it is, unfortunately. A response such as "weather" is in itself general is it not ? There is no specific explanation contained within it. I mean how much more general can you get 🤣💯

As to your comment regarding three motherships... Not sure if that's sarcasm or assumption, as I have stated no such thing.

Regarding information, yes. You are correct that much knowledge will be necessary to pave the way for truth. A simple topic as seen here can foster a good conversation indeed.

To answer your question, the thread was made to find both; differences of opinion and perhaps even some knowledge that I might not be aware of.

Truly, I'm disappointed with the quality of answers I received.

You might want to reread your question and the answer that was given.

Your question:

All good points. With that being said, can you please explain to me what would be the catalyst to produce these "two single higher clouds" in a layer of stable air at a higher altitude ?

The answer:

In other words: The possible “catalyst to produce these "two single higher clouds" in a layer of stable air at a higher altitude“ is weather.

They don't look like hole punch clouds to me, they really look more like shadows. Either from other smaller clouds higher up, or.. from below!
The structure and edges of the surrounding clouds continue into the darker area, like in this image. And the darker area kind of looks like the sky here, too:

Would be interesting to know which time of day you took the pictures. While there is no redshift, that would not necessarily be the case if the sun is already/still a little up. The trees look like they are in the shadow, so the sun might not be very high up like around noon.
The clouds could also be lit from below (and possibly from above simultaneously) by the sun reflecting on a water surface (sea or lake) and ships on the water can cast a shadow that way I would think. The shapes match small sailboats for example.
Time? Is there water nearby? A harbour?

This thread is a good example of an initial post that involved faulty pattern recognition, which was then allowed to run amok. It is, basically a completely "noise" thread that adds nothing useful to the forum. As such, it's being closed to further replies.
