Anomalous Shadows

Hello,

Attached are three photographs of the sky that contain what appear to be shadows above a stable thin cloud layer.

They are simply whimsical voids in the cloud box. It is not a shadow, it is the blue of the sky.

If you enlarge the image you can see it perfectly.

Oh wow, that does look funky, where was the sun in the sky at the time?

If these are shadows, they're kind of elongated which would indicate a sunrise or sunset positioning of the sun, yet.. it looks very brights, i.e. not red enough for it to be the case. Though I could be completely wrong.

That has been taking into consideration. However, I would suggest you take a closer look and you will be able to see the stratified cloud layer. It is clearly a shadow.

The sun was situated in relation to the "base" of one of the shadows that seems to have a triangular shape to it. Also, I have considered the shadows of towering cumulus clouds some distance of. But it would not make the shadow as define as the ones seen in the pictures, they would also have an "arm" as warm air rises. That being said, it would not make much sense. In addition, the type of clouds that are present are an indication of stable air.
