Are American Spirit cigarettes as safe as we think?

EmKay, yes I'm smoking the blue Domingo now. I usually smoke Mehari's cigarillos, but now alternating with Domingo. It's my favourite so far.

For anyone living in the UK - This company buys additive free unbranded 'Virginia tobacco' in bulk. There are two varieties available, one being regular and another being "spicy". This company also sells other brands such as American spirit, pueblo etc.

After smoking both American Spirit and Pueblo, we decided to try out the non-branded tobacco. When I spoke to the man on the phone he explained that this was roughly the same price - but much lighter in weight than other brands. For 25g it costs roughly £8.50, but when it comes it is bone dry and you get much more for your money in my opinion :D :cool2:

The regular is my personal favourite - the "spicy" variety is a little strong - although I prefer both to smoking the branded tobacco's! I am not sure whether he will post to the EU but its worth taking a look...

Hi Keyhole

Have used these people for a couple of months now and like you find the non branded a much better value buy than the branded packet stuff. They are very efficient in processing and posting orders as well.

Having smoked American Spirit previously and as others on here seem to suggest, the ownership of the company started giving me cause for concern!

The information on the site suggests that the source is Pueblo, although when I emailed the site to ask where they got it from they curtly (and correctly) told me to mind my own! :-[

Well, I noticed before that on the description, they seem to have copied and pasted the pueblo description and thought they were just being lazy . When I last spoke to the man he said that they bought it in bulk kg bags but didn't explain exactly where he sourced it. I am surprised you were told to mind your own business - one would think a tobacconist would be happy to disclose that sort of info, especially if it is of the 'additive free' variety!

Yes well lets hope they are on the level, they seem to be one of the major players in the online baccy market as they always come up high on google searches for organic! Wouldn't have thought it was worth their reputation pulling a fast one but you never know. Also asked them if they could source Manitou, but apparently there is no licence to import that into the UK!
