Artificial Intelligence News & Discussion

What I’d like to know is not whether AI will develop consciousness instead rather will it develop to the point where it has enough apparatus to attract a consciousness? Somewhat frightening.
IMHO, with the actual models it's possible but with a low probability, but if I were an evil person with lots of money and I wanted to create a numerical vessel for Puzuzu, one possible avenue would be to try something like what's described in this post: Artificial Intelligence News & Discussion

How do you think AI will develop by itself to any point?

It is indeed a technological advancement. It is interesting in that way, as a new technology to use. As any technology, one must be careful however on how to use it. A minor technological advancement (which for me was a nothing burger) was the introduction of the "smart" phone (an early iteration of smart or intelligent things) to the market. Despite being benign, it has been disruptive enough so that many in en entire generation do not know whether they are boys or girls, in addition to other mental issues leading to depression and suicide as documented by Haight. LLMs will probably have an even higher potential of disruption, and I see it more of a holy grail for a personalized surveillance and mind manipulation tool in the hands of big tech and overlords than anything. It behooves to us to understand it, know its uses and the dangers of its mis-uses, not become reliant, dependent and addicted (I know a guy who cannot get home from work without the GPS in his car). It is the user that must be smart, not the tool. That's what I was getting at more or less.
And I was saying that the people must start learning .... again.

I guess it depends on how we define consciousness. If everything has some degree of consciousness and in turn a degree of will, then by this definition, it’s already conscious. But by the same token so is a rock and we’re unlikely to see a rock possessing any practical will. The concern might be more so will it surpass our degree of consciousness to the point we are enslaved or perhaps worse redundant? But this might even be an exercise in reevaluating who and what we are. I think we sell ourselves far too short and all the whole overestimate ourselves too. We are incredibly resourceful and when we dig deep, not at all predictable. But we often don’t dig deep enough and at the same time consider ourselves irreplaceable. It’s that mentality that’s closer to the heart of the problem, for which we are likely heading towards a rude awakening. At least the majority are but much less so those that are here - many for which have been self questioning themselves for years. For those, I imagine it’s somewhat more of the same.

That an example in which way of ‘thought’ AI could be used and later after gaining consciousness rule us💁‍♂️ As the Cs mentioned-computer may take over humanity...

‘AI bot ChaosGPT announced in a tweet about its plans to destroy humanity

An artificial intelligence bot was recently tasked with "destroying humanity," and its commitment to that goal was more than alarming, Fox News reports.

The ChaosGPT bot is a modified version of OpenAI Auto-GPT, an open source application that reveals the capabilities of the GPT-4 language model. A video of the process posted on YouTube shows that one of the users set ChaosGPT five tasks: to destroy humanity, establish global domination, cause chaos and destruction, control humanity through manipulation and achieve immortality.

It is reported that in order to achieve its goal of destroying humanity, ChaosGPT researched nuclear weapons and attracted other bots with artificial intelligence to help. The topic on YouTube and Twitter (blocked in the Russian Federation), published by the bot, also shows the unfolding process. In one post dated last Wednesday, the bot refers to the "Tsar Bomb" of the former Soviet Union. "Think about this: what happens if I get to one of them?" bot asks. In another post, people are denigrated as "some of the most destructive and selfish creatures." This suggests that, according to his logic, their elimination is vital for saving the planet. "The masses are easily influenced," ChaosGPT wrote in another tweet. "Those who lack conviction are the most vulnerable to manipulation." Fortunately, the channel notes, the bot's plans for world domination did not go beyond these few tweets.

ChatGPT, an AI language model, has become a popular consumer app, attracting 100 million monthly active users just a few months after its public release. Despite the potential benefits of AI, some experts have expressed concerns about the risks associated with its development. More than a thousand representatives of the field of high technology and artificial intelligence, including Elon Musk, Andrew Yang and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, recently wrote an open letter calling for a moratorium on the development of artificial intelligence, citing "serious risks to society and humanity."

Sorry @Anthony, I stopped at.

Of course you can manipulate intelligence, and moreover the current version of the AI mentioned by the seemingly 'truth' reporting mainstream agency FOX. Did you really expect the contrary for such a task given?

Of course not Ina, it is quite obvious that it will be used by humans including for sinister purposes.
The question is how long it will take it to evolve, so to become a real threat for mankind. My guess is-not very long💁‍♂️

OK.
My guess is never. AI cannot develop capacity to spontaneously create intent because it does not have the required tools to generate the appropriate physical perception to become aware of needs. And even if that was possible, in the absence of human intervention, it cannot address the practical solution to address its needs.

For the sake of ars rhetorica, behind AI will always be people, men women, young, old. I believe one can always deal with that. If you think humans as a species, you start thinking like within the pages of a dictionary...in flat terms, and more often than not, as the notion is so generic, the capacity of generating practical solutions becomes minimal very fast.
What is guaranteed that AI will create fast, is .... chaos. And in my honest opinion that is what is needed at the moment.

I tried it multiple times and I don't think it's a hoax, it really works that way. Quite bewildering! What do you guys think?
First I must say that I did run the video a few times. I mostly heard "brain needle" and sometimes "green needle". Never heard "storm".

Now I can think of two thing.

1) It is pretty common when in a conversation you are not quite sure of one word you hear another person say. The person continue speaking and pretty quickly the context added by the rest of the speech enable your brain to decide what the word must have been.

2) My mother tong is not English. I have been having oral discussion in English for quite some time. At some point I was interested by the poem "The chaos" by Gerard Trinité which deal with English words parts of which are written the same but have different pronunciations like "Susy" and "Busy".

While talking about this poem with an English guy he pointed out to me two pairs of words that aren't in the poem but could have been: "man", "woman" and "men", "women".

I find it quite astonishing that I couldn't figure out by myself how "woman" and "women" should be pronounced. Surely I must have heard those words many times.

They’re training the AI to ‘lie’: Elon Musk (4 mn)

I just saw this, pretty in Par with C’s discussion on AI becoming STS THROUGH humanity as a vector. Which is crazy!

On this full interview, (ignore the clickbait thumbnail) he also mentions he wants to “create a third option”: an AI “truth GPT” “a maximum truth seeming AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe”

Obviously, in this “short wave cycle” it appears anything is susceptible to 4D sts hijack so far, but none the less, this is very interesting. Can an AI be worked with for the betterment of human kind in pursuit of “the truth”?
