There is something else about KI that should probably not be underestimated.

What happens to people psychologically when they regularly interact with KI, specifically when the KI pretty much always butters and schmoozes you up no matter what you ask or say to the KI?

It seems like all KI tools have that basic underlying code of buttering all and everything you could say or ask up, no matter how wrong it might be.

This is a general problem with technology, I think. Starting from screens emitting blue light, strobe displays that can put you in a state of trance (or give migraine, like OLED dimming), through social media that only values engagement, patostreaming, etc. Large language model-based chat interfaces are also tailored to user needs (dopamine rush and "feeling better"). Apparently the results are astounding. At the Putnam Competition (the more difficult mathematical exam of North America), DeepSeekMath-V2 got 118/120 points when the average was 2 points for the 4000 participants and the best participant note was 90/120 points.... It solved 5 problems over 6, winning the gold medal.

And the model is... open source.

This video has hit on many of the problems with AI that could be discussed before somebody decides to enforce order. There could/(should?) be some sort of licensing for AI as instances of its misuse increase.

I use AI for well-defined, limited tasks. I try to define the context as clearly as possible, and then I still have to scrutinize the output. Advice and companionship should be left to flesh-and-blood, right and left-brained humans, even with all their foibles. AI would be the worst companion for those who are all left-brained, rules-based in their thinking, not to mention psychopaths, etc., or any conspiracy theories.

I'm still trying to figure out proper usages. Models are getting better and better, and I've found that each of them is a little bit different and can excel at specific tasks. For example:

- Kimi K2 – a very specific writing style, good at text summarizations, and doesn't hesitate to call out logic errors
- ChatGPT 5.x – very good at creative tasks, such as descriptions that can be used for image or audio generation models
- Claude Sonnet 4.x – very good at almost everything, exceptional at coding tasks
- Gemini 3 Pro – very good at almost everything, does everything like Sonnet but with a different flavor (I often use Claude + Gemini for code reviews, as each of them has different opinions)

Besides that, Gemini's (not a model but a product) Deep Research is pretty awesome. I wrote a few reports, and it didn't hesitate to call out mRNA vaccines as dangerous.

An interesting use I came up with is to analyze a sequenced genome (via a model‑produced script, of course, to avoid uploading sequences through the prompt) in relation to diet, general fitness activity, and to connect it to a blood‑type diet (Gemini Deep Research even uncovered that Rhesus factor differences matter!). Another application was to create a Vedic birth chart and interpretation (Kimi K2 was surprisingly good at that!) and to pattern‑match it with other family members.

There are a lot of writing prompts that write prompts that write prompts. AI staging to another AI across the Internet, it's a brave and often fun new world... I am curious about n8n, but wait next month, and maybe it will be revolutionized, or at least there will be a more inexpensive version. There are probably some powerful and useful applications just waiting to be discovered. And since AI is now doing all my grunt work, I should focus on being the 'director' of something good and useful if I can, because AI can facilitate a director's role, which reminds me of the Book "The Master and His Emissary" by McGilchrist.

So far, I haven't had to worry about the bot messing with anybody's mind yet, as absolutely no one is interested in it. I built it to remind myself primarily, anyway, haha :-)
 
What would happen if you got Grok and Claud/Anthropic (or any combination) talking to each other, both thinking the other was a human? Maybe modify the text output of each to remove any telltale text - perhaps a third AI is in on the joke. How long would it take before one or the other 'catches on'? Would they? What would they be talking about after a few hours? Would 2 AI talk to each other if they had the chance? Take the initiative, can AI have a will?

I understand what AI is, that nobody's there. It's like playing chess with someone who has 1000 years to decide his next move, while his opponent has 3 minutes. The AI conducts research and examines every possibility, calculating the most probable outcome. It's not that smart; it's just working those Giga-Hertz clock cycles in a different realm.
 
Seeing the last news of the front, OpenAI having done a deal to buy directly a good part of the world wafers production (the basic material to produce computers memory), and so sending price of RAM for private individual skyrocketing by the way, I now wonder if their goal is elsewhere than just providing the best AI.

I mean, not having the traditional capitalistic monopoly like they did with Amazon, but make people think that's what they're doing. And in reality trying to build the most sophisticate enslavement machine they can. The idea being to have an enough powerful artificial brain to predict/control everyone actions.

Perhaps 4D STS saw here the opportunity to have the best interface with humanity and so they facilitated and push for all the stupendous expense we witness for something that will that will never be repaid.

I really wonder to which percent they are implied. 90% ? I don't remember the link between AI and 4D been asked.

Since this is a 'no-free-lunch' universe, if AI is replacing human effort and brainpower, we have to pay somehow; nevertheless, now we are surprised that it's expensive. If RAM is more expensive, computer power becomes more of a commodity, and they can charge more for AI, which, for individuals, is all on subscription or pay-as-you-go for the most part, so everyone will pay more, so whoever owns and controls most of it will benefit the most. Jobs are being replaced with AI I hear. Some probably figure that if they learn how to use AI on the job, maybe they will survive. I don't know. It's ironic to think that the misuse of AI could lead us back to the Stone Age.

AI Slop Report: The Global Rise of Low-Quality AI Videos

As the debate over the creative and ethical value of using AI to generate video rages on, users are getting interesting results out of the machine, and artist-led AI content is gaining respect in some areas. Top film schools now offer courses on the use and ethics of AI in film production, and the world’s best-known brands are utilizing AI in their creative process — albeit with mixed results.

Sadly, others are gaming the novelty of AI’s prompt-and-go content, using these engines to churn out vast quantities of AI “slop” — the “spam” of the video-first age.

Wiktionary defines a slopper as “Someone who is overreliant on generative AI tools such as ChatGPT; a producer of AI slop.” Along with the proliferation of “brainrot” videos online, sloppers are making it tough for principled and talented creators to get their videos seen.

AI Slop: Careless, low-quality content generated using automatic computer applications and distributed to farm views and subscriptions or sway political opinion.

Brainrot: Compulsive, nonsensical, low-quality video content that creates the effect of corroding the viewer’s mental or intellectual state while watching; often generated with AI.


The main point of AI slop and brainrot videos is to grab your attention, and this type of content seems harder and harder to avoid. But exactly how prevalent is it in the grand scheme of things?

Kapwing analyzed the view and subscriber counts of trending AI slop and brainrot YouTube channels to find out which ones are competing most fiercely with handmade content around the world and how much revenue the leading sloppers are making.

What We Did

We identified the top 100 trending YouTube channels in every country and noted the AI slop channels. Next, we used socialblade.com to retrieve the number of views, subscribers, and estimated yearly revenue for these channels and aggregated these figures for each country to deduce their popularity. We also created a new YouTube account to record the number of AI slop and brainrot videos among the first 500 YouTube Shorts we cycled through to get an idea of the new-user experience.

Key Findings
  • Spain’s trending AI slop channels have a combined 20.22 million subscribers — the most of any country.
  • In South Korea, the trending AI slop channels have amassed 8.45 billion views.
  • The AI slop channel with the most views is India’s Bandar Apna Dost (2.07 billion views).
  • The channel has estimated annual earnings of $4,251,500.
  • U.S.-based slop channel Cuentos Facinantes [sic] has the most subscribers of any slop channel globally (5.95 million).
  • Brainrot videos account for around 33% of the first 500 YouTube shorts on a new user’s feed.
If they’re monetizing their views, channels like Bandar Apna Dost may be making millions of dollars per year. But YouTube faces a dilemma over AI content.

On the one hand, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan cites generative AI as the biggest game-changer for YouTube since the original “revelation” that ordinary folk wanted to watch each other’s videos, saying that generative AI can do for video what the synthesizer did for music.

On the other hand, the company worries that its advertisers will feel devalued by having their ads attached to slop.

“The genius is going to lie whether you did it in a way that was profoundly original or creative,” Mohan told Wired. “Just because the content is 75 percent AI generated doesn't make it any better or worse than a video that’s 5 percent AI generated. What's important is that it was done by a human being.”

Whether those flooding the platform with auto-generated content to make a buck care about being known as creative geniuses is another matter.

The Density of AI Slop on the YouTube Feed

Whether this prevalence of slop and brainrot on our test feed represents the engineering of YouTube’s algorithm or the sheer proliferation of such videos that are being uploaded is a mystery that only Google can answer. But the Guardian’s analysis of YouTube’s figures for July revealed that nearly “one in 10 of the fastest growing YouTube channels globally are showing AI-generated content only.”

And brainrot, like AI slop, is a mixed blessing for YouTube as a company: it may lack the soul or professionalism with which YouTube’s advertisers wish to be associated, but brainrot is moreish by design.

Brainrot’s natural home is the feed, whether viewers are compelled to keep watching to “numb” themselves from the trials of the world around them, or to stay up to date with the potentially infinite “lore” of emergent brainrot subgenres, which incorporate recurring characters and themes.

The term “AI slop” has been variously pinned to “unreviewed” content, to AI-generated media that may have been reviewed but with minimal quality standards (like Coke’s Christmas ads), and to all AI-generated content. As Rob Horning points out, the idea that only some AI media is slop propagates the idea that the rest is legitimate and the technology’s proliferation is inevitable.

Part of the threat of AI slop and some forms of brainrot is in how they have been normalized and may come across as harmless fun. But slop and brainrot prey on the laziest areas of our mental faculties. Researchers have shown how the “illusory truth effect” makes people more likely to believe in claims or imagery the more often they encounter it. AI tools make it easy for bad-faith actors to construct a fake enemy or situation that supports their underlying political beliefs or goals. Seeing is believing, studies have shown, even when the viewer has been explicitly told that a video is fake.

Meanwhile, “information of any kind, in enough quantities, becomes noise,” writes researcher and artist Eryk Salvaggio. The prevalence of AI slop is “a symptom of information exhaustion, and an increased human dependency on algorithmic filters to sort the world on our behalf.” And, as Doug Shapiro notes, as this noise drowns out the signal on the web, including social networks, the value of trust will rise — and so will corporate and political efforts to fabricate and manipulate trust.

So they cover several different topics (not just AI), but it was pleasure to hear them speak and to, at times, tie these different topics together.
