Beautiful Art: architecture, paintings, sculptures, etc

Double spiral staircase, an architectural and engineering marvel of its time at Burg de Graz Castle in Austria. Completed in 1438, under the direction of Roman Emperor Frederick III, Burg de Graz was extended by Frederick's son, Emperor Maximilian from 1494-1500 EC. When they reopened their doors, officials and civilians alike marveled at the "Doppelwendeltreppe", or "Double Spiral Staircase", which runs through two floors to the top of the tower. This architectural masterpiece has often been interpreted as a symbol of eternity. People call it "reconciliation stairs". If you part, you will reunite at some point.

Was recently looking for something nice to watch and listen to while working on a sewing project and came across this video of Gardens in Kyoto. The gardens are lovely, and the music was so soothing that after about 1/2 hour I realized that i was so much calmer. Thought I would share as it's a great background to have playing even if you are focused on other things.

I try to put myself in the place where the painting was created, out of a painter's imagination. Did he have extras while he was painting? It's really intriguing. It looks like a photograph. Did the figures, personified by people, stand still while the painter painted? And for how long? Or did the whole frame literally come out of the painter's head?

This octagon tunnel is near the mountain town of Misato in Kumamoto Prefecture, on Japan’s southern island of Kyushu. It's called the Hakkaku Tunnel but is not a solid tunnel. It's made of seven octagonal rings. It was built in 1915 to prevent rocks from falling onto the railway system. I like it.

A 1,000-year-old helical stepwell with 8 entries is located in Walur Village, Selu Taluka, in the Parbhani District of Maharashtra, India. This unique "Helical Stepwell" features spiral steps from 8 sides leading to the well shaft and 8 Devakoshta (niches) above the steps.
Recently, the locals of Walur Village undertook a massive cleanliness drive to restore the stepwell to its former glory. They removed the rubbish and debris that had accumulated over the years, revealing the intricate design and historical significance of this ancient structure. Believed to be between 1,000 and 1,500 years old, this stepwell stands as a testament to the architectural ingenuity and cultural heritage of the region.

'Respect and cherish words and paper, and you will be blessed'

Built in Qing Dynasty (1852), Ziku Pagoda (Chengdu, Jiezi ancient town) is 15 meters high with five floors in the shape of hexagon. On the top four layers, it is carved “The Legend of White Snake”.
The local people believed that it was blessed if cherished words, they won’t throw away paper with words and gather the paper to incinerate.
