Another version with the detention of Russians in Belarus. Everything becomes more interesting. If we assume that this version is correct, the initiative to detain may come from the special services/authorities of Russia.

This is not the Wagner PMCs: details about "Russian mercenaries" detained in Minsk have emerged (+PHOTO)
The news is updated
30.07.2020 - 1:00
The Russians detained by the Belarusian special services are not related to the Wagner PMCs, according to the authors of the REVERSE SIDE of the MEDAL Telegram channel, which is associated with Private military companies.

"The Russians detained in Belarus are employees of the PMSC "Mar". During the interrogation, they themselves said that they were going to Turkey, " they write.

"According to information at the moment, they should have signed a contract in Turkey for the protection of the Zuvara oil loading port (it is under the control of the NTC). And already from Turkey, they had to take a civil flight either to Tripoli or Misrata. There are no flights to Benghazi or anywhere else on Haftar's territory from Turkey. In Belarus, there was just a transshipment point.

None of the detainees to the "musicians" (slang nickname of the wagnerians, - approx. RV) has no relation. Just security guards, " the channel's authors note.

A well-known Russian-language journalist of Arab origin, Abbas Juma, published a photo of the head of the mentioned Private military security company, comparing the tattoo on his arm with the tattoo of one of the detainees of the Belarusian special forces from the video.

«Exactly. PMC "Mar". And it seems that the founder himself was arrested. According to some reports, he was taking people to Libya to fight for Saraj," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Reference
"Mar" positions itself as a private military security company specializing in the protection of individuals and legal entities, as well as ship escort services in areas where the risk of pirate attacks is high. In the Network appeared information that the staff of this organization was allegedly seen in areas of combat operations.

Russian foreign intelligence service: detention of Russians in Belarus is a staged action
2020-08-01
Russia called the detention of its citizens in Belarus a staged action.

The head of the Russian foreign intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, said that the detention of 33 citizens of the Russian Federation on the territory of neighboring Belarus is a staged production aimed at destabilizing relations between the two countries, most likely with the premise of the West.

At the moment, it is known that the Belarusian side has not provided Russia with a single fact that allows us to say that the detained Russian citizens could have been involved in organizing public riots on the territory of the neighboring Republic in any way-the documents found with them, foreign currency and other "evidence" have nothing criminal.

"I must say that in European countries, political elites, government circles, qualify this as a staged action, and this is regrettable. I very much hope that the incident will be resolved and overcome after some time. This is in the interests of developing friendly, fraternal relations between our two countries and two peoples," Sergei Naryshkin said.

It is not known how objective such arguments are, however, taking into account the request of Ukraine, Belarus can transfer to this side 28 of the 33 detained citizens of the Russian Federation, who, according to Kiev, are somehow connected with the conflict in Eastern Ukraine.

"Given the growth of anti-Russian sentiment in Belarus, it is possible that the neighboring country decided to arrange a "circus" with the detention of Russian mercenaries, especially since the "action" itself is not aimed at any of the presidential candidates. We hope that Minsk will solve this problem quickly and not to the detriment of both countries," the expert said.

The Belarusian side has not yet commented on the statement of the head of the Russian SVR.

This is not a military training camp — who and what is actually being prepared for mobilization in Belarus
05.08.2020 - 6:00
General mobilization has been declared in the Vitebsk region. The probable reason is the opposition to certain groups that arrived in Belarus allegedly to destabilize the situation before the elections. In the last address to the nation, Lukashenko again intimidated people with delusions that another party of radicals was seen in the southern part of the country.

"Today we received information about another detachment that was transferred to the South. This is what we should do when the cleaning is going on, we should run and catch them in the woods. We'll catch them all! " - he said pompously.

This is a good move on the part of Lukashenko before the elections-to try to unite the people around him in the face of the"looming threat". Batka will spin the story to the last with certain groups that are trying to harm Belarus before a fair vote. But in reality, the situation is much worse than you can imagine.

The outbreak of activity on the Belarusian territory near the Russian border suspiciously coincides with what happened in Ukraine before the mass riots in 2013. In the part of Belarus where military training camps are planned, there are closed camps for radicals, who are trained by foreign instructors from Poland and the Baltic States. And with the permission of the Belarusian special services. This information was confirmed by military correspondent Semyon Pegov.

The Vitebsk and Mogilev regions were chosen not by chance, since the Pro-Russian part of the population mainly lives here, which may cause some inconvenience after the destabilization of the situation in the country after the elections.

So the imaginary threat that Lukashenka is talking about is a covered — up lie. He uses the situation for his own purposes, hiding that almost an entire army of radicals is being prepared under the leadership of the Belarusian special services, which will be involved in the event of an "unsuccessful" vote outcome.

And my Father has provided all the options. If Belarusians do not want to choose it in a good way, then it will be in a bad way. But is the Ukrainian example positive?

Lukashenko permanently broke the agreement on integration with Russia
2020-08-07
Lukashenko refused to integrate with Russia-forever.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, on the background of the election of the country's leader, said that integration with Russia is now no longer possible. According to Lukashenko, this is due not only to his personal choice, but also to the choice of Belarusian citizens, and this decision is final.

"President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has finally recognized the impossibility of political integration with Russia. Broadcast of the interview of the head of state to Ukrainian journalist Dmitry Gordon is available on YouTube. "Even if I agreed to unite, Belarus will never accept it. The people are overripe. This could have been 20-25 years ago. Not now, " he said. Earlier, Lukashenko has criticized Russia for the fact that she changed her fraternal relationship to the Republic to the affiliate. At the same time, he stressed that the countries will still remain the closest allies, " <url> reports.

Experts believe that such a statement by Lukashenko is only trying to make a certain rating for himself a few days before the elections, since in reality, negotiations on integration are still underway, although not so actively.

"Lukashenko declared integration not 20-25 years ago, but only a few months ago, and suddenly changed his mind. It is possible that this may be due to another flirtation of Minsk with the West, since more than 30 Russian citizens have already been detained in Belarus on trumped-up charges of a planned coup, " the analyst notes Avia.pro.

Earlier, there were reports that Russia and Belarus could not agree on the further use of Belarusian bases by the Russian military for their own purposes, however, there are no official comments on this matter from either Russia or Belarus.

The end of 20 years of lies and hypocrisy. In fact, Lukashenko never intended to unite with Russia, and it was clear almost from the very beginning of this process. However, all these years, except for the most recent time, he used this topic to obtain economic preferences from Russia. I wonder what he's hoping for. What had they promised him? Does the Ukrainian experience teach you nothing?! Apparently, Lukashenko looks at this experience through the prism of the personal well-being of those who committed treason against the national interests of their countries. Personally and personally, all those who were in charge of these processes in Ukraine, in the Baltic countries, in Moldova, and in Georgia (with the exception of Saakashvili, but he was not allowed to die), feel quite well. And in this regard, such figures do not care that countries remain countries only in name. Economies are collapsing, and populations are fleeing in all directions. Well, many Belarusians have already been living and working outside of Belarus for a long time, in particular, there are many of them in Russia. Apparently, this number will soon increase.

Putin personally began to rescue Russian citizens captured in Belarus
2020-08-07
The Russian President decided to intervene in the situation with the illegal arrest of Russians in Belarus.

Illegal detention of citizens of the Russian Federation in Belarus and their unsubstantiated accusation of attempted coup d'etat and actual extremism. For which Belarus provides the capital punishment – the death penalty., forced Russian leader Vladimir Putin to intervene in this situation and personally start overseeing the issue of the release of Russian citizens.

"The presidents of Belarus and Russia, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, agreed to thoroughly investigate all the circumstances of the detention of 33 Russian citizens on the territory of Belarus. "One of the main topics of conversation was the detention of 33 Russian citizens on the territory of Belarus," the message reads. - In this regard, the desire to work together in the most serious way to understand this situation was emphasized. The presidents agreed to study every available fact as thoroughly as possible in order to establish the true causes of the current situation, find those responsible and bring them to justice, "the Russian news Agency TASS reports»

It should be noted that to date, the official Minsk has not provided any evidence of the involvement of the detained Russians in an attempt to overthrow the current government, threatening to do so. Transfer the detainees to the Ukrainian side at the official request of Kiev, which accuses the detainees of fighting in the Donbass. The Belarusian authorities have not yet decided to release the detained Russian citizens.

The story of the detention of Russians in Belarus has received an unexpected twist
What preceded the detention of Russians in Belarus and who benefits from it? The results of the sensational investigation, published today in Komsomolskaya Pravda, put everything in its place. It seems that the action was planned in part to quarrel between two fraternal peoples.

From the beginning to the end, a staged production, the actors of which were used in the dark — this is the light in which the story around the detention of our citizens in Belarus now appears. Based on sources in the Russian security services, Komsomolka claims that the Russians were the victim of a carefully planned provocation. And it all started long before the recent high-profile events, back in may, with an announcement on the Internet about finding people to work abroad. It was about protecting oil facilities. And, according to the employee of the competent Department, it was a trap that more than a hundred people fell into.

"Candidates sent their questionnaires to the specified site. In the future, candidates from the Syrian phone number went to a certain Sergey Petrovich, who interviewed job seekers about their combat experience, focusing on their participation in the fighting in the Donbass," — said the employee of the special service.

This Sergey Petrovich presented himself as a high-ranking employee of a private military company. And this, of course, turned out to be fiction, but his interest in the conflict in Eastern Ukraine was the most genuine. The group of 33 people who left for Belarus in the hope of flying from there to Turkey and further to Venezuela included former militia members. To be sure, they even sent money for the road (they were transferred through an ATM by a bearded man) and tickets to Istanbul. However, when traveling to Minsk, people did not suspect that their tickets had already been canceled, and a trap was waiting for them ahead. But it was thanks to the tickets that we managed to track down those who were behind this provocation.

"We would like to inform you that according to the airline's booking system, flight reservations and ticket processing and reissue were made through an authorized Agency registered on the territory of Ukraine," is the official message of the representative of the Turkish airline.

No matter how much they tried to cover their tracks in Kiev, even reprinted a few lines in the tickets to make it look like they were bought in Russia, the information was preserved in electronic databases. And they clearly indicate that the tickets were purchased in Ukraine-in Kiev and in Lviv. And when our special services found out who was communicating with the militia under the guise of employers, everything finally fell into place.

"This action, as we have reliably established, was carried out by the special services of Ukraine. The purpose of this special operation of the Ukrainian special services, as we believe, was the withdrawal of Russian citizens to the territory of Belarus and the formation of the Belarusian side's opinion that they arrived in Minsk to participate in mass riots during the presidential elections," the official said.

By the way, contracts for the employment of former militia members also turned out to be fake. The seals are fake. The person who allegedly signed the documents has been working elsewhere for a long time. And it is strange that all this did not catch the eye of the Belarusian security forces. However, "Komsomolka" suggests that Kiev, which gave Minsk information about the Russians, presented everything as it is profitable for it.

"It is quite possible that the whole story was brought to the Belarusian side in a very truncated form. Throughout this operation, the SBU seems to have intended to kill several birds with one stone. But the main blow is undoubtedly to Russian-Belarusian relations, " the newspaper writes.

However, it is not too late to understand all the details of this story. And now Russian investigators are planning to join the case.

"The Investigative Committee of Russia is conducting a procedural check of the circumstances that resulted in the detention of Russian citizens on the territory of the Republic of Belarus on July 29 this year. After collecting and carefully analyzing all the necessary information, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation will give an appropriate legal assessment, " - said the official representative of the TFR Svetlana Petrenko.

Russia hopes that a thorough and objective investigation of the case will be conducted in Minsk. The Belarusian side has all the possibilities for this.

Belarusian media reported about Lukashenka's flight from the country to Turkey
2020-08-10
Belarusian media reported that a few hours before the end of the presidential election, the current leader left the territory of Belarus – his plane was seen flying to Turkey, which is also confirmed by international services that monitor the air situation around the world.

There are no official comments from Minsk and the press service of the President of Belarus on this issue, but according to the data provided by public resources, the plane landed in the southern part of Turkey. The plane really belongs to the Belarusian leader, but who exactly was on Board remains unknown.

However, after the voting was completed, real chaos began in Belarus-in addition to a hard crackdown on protesters, it became known that one of the paddy wagons rammed into a crowd of citizens, resulting in several people being very seriously injured. Sources report shooting in the center of Minsk (according to other sources, it is about the use of stun grenades), however. in a number of cities in Belarus, law enforcement officials refused to detain the protesters, joining their ranks – at the moment, we are talking about at least four cities in Belarus.

According to local sources, as a result of clashes with law enforcement services, at least 150 people were injured, and the dead are reported.

Well, things got complicated, I did a quick read into trying to understand what the heck was going in Belarus, being not familiar with it's issues.

Does belarusians had acknowledge what had been happening at other countries with the lockdowns? The destruction of every economy, I try to understand their opposition to Lucashenko but,... I need to know more about Belarus.

Just saw your post, Youlik, Why do you think Lucashenko could fly to Turkey if he is winning with so large margin?
Things seems too worse as you wrote in one of you're posts!

Violent clashes with riot police in Belarus as protesters rally over projected Lukashenko landslide victory

Protesters are rallying in Belarus despite ongoing clashes with riot police who have deployed teargas and flash grenades, as they express discontent with incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko's projected re-election.
Lukashenko is forecast to receive well over 70 percent of the vote, according to early official results and exit polls, while the main opposition candidate, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, is expected to get between 6.8 and 10 percent. She refused to acknowledge her defeat saying the results from three polling stations where “there were no falsifications” showed that she was actually winning.

This sentiment was clearly shared by many in the capital as angry protesters gathered in the center of Minsk and in other cities throughout the country.

The rallies started with people gathering outside polling stations, chanting “Shame on you” to members of electoral commissions as they were escorted out by the police after finishing the ballot count. Other videos showed crowds shouting “Go away” and “You are not Belarus,” addressing President Lukashenko. Before long, protesters were clashing with riot police.

By midnight, hundreds had gathered in one of the main squares of Minsk. The riot police used flashbang grenades, tear gas, water cannons and shot rubber bullets against the demonstrators who pelted bottles and other projectiles in return.

Several disturbing videos from the capital showed a police truck rolling trough the crowd, with one protester jumping on its hood before falling near – or under – the wheels.

Multiple arrests were made. Police said that at least one of its officers was hurt in the scuffles, with videos from the scene showing bloodied demonstrators.

Pictures on social media show medics helping people with bloody heads and apparent injuries to other parts of the bodies. Local reporters in Minsk said ambulances were taking both protesters and police officers away.

Protesters can be heard shouting to police officers to join them in several videos appearing on social media.

Protests also took place in other cities across the country, including Gomel, Mogilev, and Vitebsk. In some places there was much smaller police presence and protesters even managed to turn them running.

Internet connections were also reportedly cut off in Minsk and other cities.

Just saw your post, Youlik, Why do you think Lucashenko could fly to Turkey if he is winning with so large margin?

Hello, mabar!
First of all, I don't think that Lukashenko left the country. Rather, in my opinion, he took the family away.
Secondly, I do not doubt Lukashenko's victory in the elections (all dangerous candidates were "carefully" removed), but I strongly doubt the figures provided by the CEC.
As for Lukashenko's policy on Covidblocks, I would not assess it positively if I were you. The economy of Belarus is in an uncompetitive state even without any blockages. It was the inability of the population in Belarus to survive the restrictions and the inability of the government to help the population in this way that was the main reason for not imposing restrictions. In General, all this is a consequence of the fact that for more than 20 years, the main and overwhelming goal of Lukashenko's domestic and foreign policy was to maintain and strengthen his own power, and everything else was secondary. I sometimes communicate with Belarusians and I have my own view on many processes, including the percentage of support in elections.

I agree with Youlik, Lukashenko is the most ordinary power-hungry pathocrat who, throughout all the years of his rule, maneuvers between Russia and Europe when it is more profitable for him. So he could easily rig the elections
and then:

Exitpol showed almost 80% of votes for Tikhanovskaya at polling stations abroad

Well, what has to be considered, that internet and the media may distort information quite a bit.

I know from a personal experience of living in Belarus when it was still a part of the Soviet Union, and then for 5 years later during Lukashenko's presidency, that it is quite probable that most of the adult and/or elderly population of Belarus continues to vote for him, while younger people want change. Some of them are nationalists, and some of them think that perhaps a younger and more energetic leader would change the situation for the better.

Actually, a big chunk of them don't live in Belarus for various reasons, mostly because this way they get paid more, including working in Russia. And that's why the voting results are naturally skewed heavily against Lukashenko at the polling stations abroad.

But it is also logical to assume that inside Belarus there is a big chunk of the population (especially the pro-Russian one) who support him. At least they did before the mercenaries stunt. They do it for several reasons, but primary because they prefer stability. And that's why many of the adult population accepted Lukashenko's narrative regarding coronavirus and lack of restrictions. They all know how the real crisis looks like, and therefore prefer this kind of stability (that might as well be stagnation in some areas) instead of ending up like Ukraine.

So I don't really buy the total elections steal, and that Tikhanovskaya somehow got the same level of support inside Belarus, like she got abroad, and that it's all the result of elections manipulation.

My guess is that at least half of population genuinely supports Lukashenko, including those who didn't vote. So that's all fair and square. ;-)

Now, he did ruin his impression quite a bit with the mercenaries stunt, and the way he went against Russia. It's true that now things become more clear, and Putin has given him information and his support, but he does look like Erdogan ;-) in a sense that he shifts his allegiance however it suits him.

That's what Russian analysts say about it: that he is in a very precarious position. Belarus is a small and poor country, so it has to align itself with a stronger ally. The natural choice is Russia, of course, and many people who live or lived there (including myself) still hope that at some point Belarus will become part of Russia. But it seems more and more unlikely, unfortunately.

Anyways, so what the Russians say, that this "shifty" behavior on Lukashenko's part is what puts him in a dangerous position. Sometimes he wants to get closer to the West, but then returns to Russia, because it's clear that he and Belarus will be instantly destroyed by the West, the same way Ukraine was. And sometimes he is close buddies with Putin, and he gets all kind of perks and discounts, but then gets more comfortable and starts demanding stuff. So Russia naturally doesn't like this kind of back stabbing.

But my guess is that Putin know very well with whom he is dealing with, and knows how to speak to Lukashenko.

According to Russian analysts, the biggest irony of all, that those who are instigating chaos and are participating in the demonstrations are the same people Lukashenko tried to get closer to by publicly accusing Russia. He tried to sit on several chairs and ended up on the floor. And now who knows if this won't lead to the further destruction of Belarus. And this is exactly what the West wants.

Keit.

I completely agree with Keit.
Tikhonovskaya could not get more votes than Lukashenko. Somewhere the numbers probably twisted, but this is not important.
The trouble is that Lukashenko has driven both himself and the country into a dead end from which the Ukrainian perspective is increasingly visible.

The Belarusian authorities decided to shut up the entire information flow, - Dmitry Steshin about the detention of Pegov
10.08.2020 - 16:41
Dmitry Steshin, a well-known Russian war correspondent, answered questions from Russkaya Vesna about the detention of Semyon Pegov in Minsk on the evening of August 9.

— What happened?" Didn't they recognize it? Did they take them all in order to sort them out and filter them out? Or were there no "friends" on the streets for the Minsk security forces yesterday?

— They took all those who were ahead on the contact line. I understand that the authorities have decided to completely shut down the entire information flow coming from the protests in Belarus. But this is impossible, now everyone is their own correspondent and the media.

Several thousand people were detained, and the figure of 3,000 detainees is called, which is a lot for the proceedings. It may take several days.

I think there were no installations for " their "media and "others", I have not encountered this, at all protests, the security forces treat the press with the same suspicion. They have a formal reason for detention — lack of accreditation. This is a very convenient reason.

At the counter-revolution in Egypt in August 2013, which was done for several weeks, I left Egypt a long time ago, and they all did it. Maybe they haven't done it yet.

I think all journalists from the media who have registration will be released soon. There is no point in keeping them if you don't want to ruin the reputation of your country.

We remind that last night in Minsk, our friend, a well-known Russian military correspondent and author of the wargonzo journalistic project, Semyon Pegov, was detained.

Today, the Network flew around the footage from Minsk, where a riot Police officer drags Pegov, who is in an unconscious state, on the asphalt.

It turned out that the Belarusian authorities consider Pegova an offender, now he is in the Minsk police Department at the address: 36A akrestina street.

According to the legislation of the Republic of Belarus, he faces imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years for participating in an" unauthorized rally".

Given the geographical location of Belarus, I would imagine they are getting squeezed by both the west and the east. I also imagine western oligarchs would like a color revolution followed by installation of a puppet government, bought with loans that are, in essence, big bribes, followed by asset plundering, quick admittance to NATO and then put Patriot missiles all over the place. Kind of business as usual. So, a lot of bad press is to be expected.

He may be a typical pathocrat, but anyone who responded to the coronavirus with a flippant: Let's kill the virus with Vodka, Saunas and Ice Hockey (paraphrase) can't be all bad.

URGENTLY: EU imposes sanctions against Belarus
The news is updated
14.08.20 - 20:57
The foreign Ministers of the European Union countries decided to impose sanctions against Belarus. This was announced by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Slovakia Ivan Korchok.

The European Union has already started working on a list of individuals who will be subject to individual restrictions — the so-called targeted sanctions.

The sanctions are being imposed amid mass protests after the August 9 presidential election, and Korchok has already said that they will affect those responsible for "violence against peaceful protesters and election fraud."

We will remind, since the evening of August 9, demonstrations and riots continue in Belarus.
