Bits and pieces from Austria

Let me tell you...
They wasn't able to controll that and also not to execute it, first of all, there is to less manpower und the next thing is, that most of the persons woh had to controll it, don't give a f*** about that, at least after a short ammount of time.
But i can only speak for Vorarlberg and a bit for Burgenland, but there not so exactly, because I don't live there any more...
Or maybe I only was lucky that I only got to souch persons who don't give a f***... 🙃
Yes we are, nobody cares. Just in public transport in Vienna masks are an obligation, but many people don’t care.

Well, that's good to hear! I know people in Vienna who said it was pretty strict there, but I think it was more their fear/compliance talking, since they ended up going along with the rules. :-(

Today I was in Vienna and most of the people were wearing masks in public transports. There were app. 20% that did not. But today we have a lot of Silvestser-tourists and some of them do not know the rules, I guess. As I mentioned, app. 3 months ago I had to pay 50 for not wearing a mask. If you are caught by a nasty controler then you have to pay.
and just to mention: There was one school in Vienna that forced the pupils to wear masks again just before Christmas. They had some positive Corona tests.
If I remember correctly, Austria had very Draconian measures towards unvaccinated people such as outright fines for not having the green pass. Have they done away with these illegal regulations and fines? If so, how did they go about removing the restrictions and regulations or were they just quiet about it like most places? Are you folks in Austria fairly free to move about and do your jobs and travel without pressures for jabs or masks?
We had a very hard time during the lockdowns. I am talking about Lower Austria southern part. I think it was one year ago or so, cant remember exactly.
I was living in a district where I was not allowed to leave the border of the district without a PCR-test. And the police was very strict and even a little bit aggressive. When you wanted to drive on the highway you were stopped by the police and they asked where you wanted to go. Not friendy ones! But as @Claus said, they did not have enough people and it was impossible to control everywhere. How did people handle that? They got creative! There are many ways to get from one place to the other, they found new routes with the car and you also had to be tricky when using pubic transport. Of course it was sometimes exciting!

But now it is over - at least in Lower Austria and in the other counties. Today I heard that they will end all the covid-laws by the end of June.

A note from a facebook-"friend" about agricultural situation.

-----
Example 1

A conversation with a perplexed farmer with a small farm .
700 kilograms of crops harvested, then he had to bring his tractor to the " Pickerl" (a technical check you have to do to use your car) and had to repair four small things .
Repair costs more than the yield of the whole harvest - how is it all going to end ?

Example 2 - costs in agriculture.
A meat farmer for high quality beef is desperate how to put his cows on straw bedding in the winter - straw has become scarce and the price has quadrupled in the past three years !!!
But if he puts his animals on the "naked" stable floor, because he cannot afford the straw or there is none at all in the quantity he needs , then the animal rights activists are at the door with ads and he loses his seal of quality, which significantly depresses the price of his meat.
The same problem have horse stables and sheep farmers, straw now costs twice as much as first-class feed hay .(!!!!)
So as in the past from the huge farms of our eastern neighboring countries to secure the supply no one can afford more - the tolls for LkW semitrailers and especially the doubled fuel prices make the transport often as expensive as the load !!!
----------

I also was told that farmers cannot sell their harvest to companies because these companies don`t have the capacity to take them. Machines were out of order and no replacement parts were available.

Is Austria already planning for the next pandemic?

Instead of taking legal action against those responsible for the Corona scaremongering and dangerous vaccination propaganda, they are already planning a second round in the form of a new epidemic law. The law is based on the assumption of a worldwide pandemic and, according to constitutional lawyer Peter Bußjäger, will of course include compulsory vaccination.

The alleged Corona pandemic has turned out to be pure scaremongering, in the context of which the Austrian federal government also first imprisoned its own citizens, forced them to wear pointless masks and finally deliberately wanted to impose a potentially lethal gene injection. Instead of learning from the fake pandemic and naming and punishing those responsible, a new pandemic law is now to be introduced to legitimise all the violations of fundamental rights of recent years - including compulsory vaccination. If necessary, this law can then be taken out of the drawer and the population locked up again and forced into the needle.

On the other hand: There are so many people that have become VERY suspicious about these vaccines . . . . today I was attending - only for a short while - a meeting of "Congress Austria". Beneath the surface many movements can be seen against government and the whole weird system. Very normal people. Really astonishing!
The the governments plan: This is what they want, but you dont always get what you want, do you?

Good to hear there's more pushback there since the government put in place such Draconian measures.

Parliament, 31 January 2023 / 8:22 pm

Government voted with SPÖ and Neos 102 million euros for Ukraine tank delivery
With the votes of the ÖVP, Greens, SPÖ and Neos, Parliament today, Tuesday, approved 102 million euros for the delivery of tanks to Ukraine. Only the FPÖ was against.

Financial aid a bottomless pit
The foreign policy spokesman of the Freedom Party, Axel Kassegger, tried to explain to the members of the National Council in a matter-of-fact way why the delivery of weapons to the war zone would only lead to a further escalation. Moreover, the financial contributions to Ukraine, where in reality it is not known who gets the money in this corrupt country, would be a bottomless pit.

Kassegger listed that Austria had already paid 46 million euros from the Foreign Disaster Fund once, and 17.5 million euros another time. In addition, there would be 7.2 billion euros from EU macro-financial aid, 18 billion from EU macro-financial aid plus - and particularly smug, Kassegger said, would be the 3.6 billion euros from the pot of the European Peace Facility. Literally, the FPÖ mandatary said:

Who actually asked the Austrians whether they wanted to give up their neutrality? Whether they want this sanctions regime? Do they approve of the arms deliveries that are taking place now? No one. The federal government is simply riding roughshod over it.

Citizens would not have elected this government

If the citizens had known all this in the 2019 National Council elections, they would never have voted for this government, claimed Axel Kassegger, who missed the fact that nothing at all was being done for peace at the political level. Instead, tanks were being delivered for peace, which would be dangerous and would only lead to further escalations.

Unbelievable policy

With regard to Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens), Kassegger could not refrain from taking a side blow. According to the FPÖ politician, Baerbock had seriously said that Germany was at war. In the next half-sentence, however, she said that Germany was not a party to the conflict. Kassegger on this: There is no logic to these statements. Who is supposed to believe anything such politicians say?

Return to reason

His appeal for an end to warmongering and for a return to reason was of little use, because the governing parties ÖVP and Greens as well as SPÖ and Neos voted for this assumption of liability for Ukrainian loans amounting to 102 million euros. The Freedom Party was the only party against.

🇦🇹😷Mask wearers now face a €150 fine 🤡

After Vienna was the last province to keep the FFP2 mask requirement in public transport, Mayor Michael Ludwig finally gave in - and since 1 March, the mask requirement in public transport is no longer mandatory in Austria.
Curious: Until recently, if you did not wear a mask, you could be punished for doing so.
Actually, with the end of the mask obligation, the ban on veiling that has been in force since 2017 comes into effect again. According to this, it is forbidden in public places to cover one's face until it is unrecognisable, which definitely includes wearing a mask.🤡

A good initiative from Union Souveränität Austria. An open letter t the Austrian Government which I signed. Maybe some of the Austrians want to sign, too . . . The original link is at the end. the boldings in the text are made by me.

Non-partisan initiative against the exclusion of athletes from the Olympic Games on the basis of their citizenship.

Open letter to the Austrian Federal Government.

This is not our Austria.
This is not our state of mind.

An open letter to Federal Minister Werner Kogler and Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer.

Dear members of the Federal Government, Minister Kogler as Minister for Sport, Chancellor Nehammer as Head of Government and Chancellor.

It is with incredulous horror that we learn from the Austrian media that Austria will apparently join a minority of 30 states in lobbying the Olympic Committee to exclude Russian and Belarusian athletes from the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and the qualifying competitions before that.

If this report is correct, it is an outrageous moral and human scandal, a clear violation of the perpetual neutrality enshrined in our State Treaty and a downright perverse contradiction of the origin and purpose of the Olympic Games.

What your government represents here in terms of mindset is a disgrace for our country internally and externally, is not the will and attitude of the Austrian people and is one hundred percent against our inner conviction and our moral values.

The Olympic idea is:

Every four years, people from all over the world come together to celebrate the greatest of all games.

United in sport, athletes from every country should compete in their disciplines across wars and crises.

The Olympic Movement is a movement of peace, centred on the human being, whatever his nation, with his physical strength, willpower and creative spirit.

Do you, Minister Kogler, as a narrow-minded supporter of ever further escalation by supplying ever heavier weapons, understand the meaning of these words at all?

Do you, Chancellor Nehammer, even understand the irrational contradiction between the idea of the Olympic Games and the official position of the Republic of Austria represented by your government?

Have the members of the Federal Government forgotten their oath of office on the Constitution of the Republic, on the State Treaty, which is the basis of our Republic and in which Austria has committed itself to perpetual neutrality?

Do you, as representatives of our country, not realise that you are leading our Austria into a small group of states that stands against the position of the overwhelming majority of the international community of states?

Do you not know that 159 out of 189 states of the world do not support this exclusion and that you are contradicting the interests of our country with this completely wrong attitude of mind?

Have you as human beings completely lost your moral compass in recent months?

It is precisely because a terrible war is raging in Ukraine, in which innocent young people on both sides are senselessly losing their lives for power politicians and interest groups, that the peaceful participation of young athletes in the competitions before and at the Olympic Games is so important.

It is precisely because young people on both sides are indoctrinated with hatred and fear of the other side that joint sporting and peaceful measurement in fair competitions is so urgently needed.

Precisely because there is currently little chance of mutual understanding of the mutual interests in the leadership of the countries involved in this war, it is a duty to support the idea of the Olympic Games, which unites people, and not to actively torpedo it.

Sport must remain free of political, ideological and religious interests and disputes!

The demanded exclusion of athletes on the basis of their nationality is morally and humanly wrong and is the completely wrong signal right now!

That Austria, as a neutral country, supports this completely wrong mindset is a scandal in itself.

We absolutely do not agree with this decision of the Austrian Federal Government. As human beings and as Austrian citizens, we expressly distance ourselves from this mindset.

We call on you as the responsible ministers and the other members of the Austrian Federal Government to change this attitude on behalf of and in the interest of the overwhelming majority of the population and, on the contrary, to publicly support the participation of all athletes from all countries, but especially the warring parties.

Sport and sporting competitions in the spirit of the Olympic movement are one of the few remaining possibilities to combat the consequences of this terrible war, at least on an experimental basis. The exclusion of athletes has exactly the opposite effect.

An Austria that supports the initiative that athletes should be excluded from participating in international competitions and especially the Olympic Games on the basis of their citizenship is not our Austria.

It is not our state of mind.
