Boris Johnson Resigning As Prime Minister

Sunak the stepping stone to Starmer? Or straight to general election? I honestly wouldn't like to guess
Many pundits are suggesting a Hunt coup. Maybe that will lead to Hunt of Sunak taking over the party leadership/PM position.

I guess there would have to be a general election relatively soon - the Tories have no legitimacy left after all the chaos, resignations, U-turns etc.

Looking at current polls it looks likely Labour would win, polls are hardly reliable these days but their lead seems huge at this point. Not sure what option a new Tory leader would have though...

As an aside, it is interesting that almost all commentary on this now describes the 'two parties' of British politics - clearly the Lib Dems are considered dead and gone at this point. Many pieces now read very much like articles on US politics.

Given Starmer's transparent agenda, Labour will be of great use for the Great Reset and all that entails. As much as many Tories are also obviously on board, there are still some more old-school conservatives who were creating far too much trouble to be allowed to continue. A Labour government looks like it will usher in the new agenda much more smoothly.

Even though some Labour members may try to oppose elements of the agenda, the treatment of Corbyn and his supporters demonstrates exactly what will happen to them. With the legacy of New Labour and the more recent exodus of 200,000 members after Starmer's rise, I doubt there is much resistance left.

I do wonder what effect public ire can have on the political agenda, surely it will rise as the new economic reality sets in. So far though people seem so naive and disengaged with reality that any meaningful mass outrage looks a long way off...

Looking at the British press today, it's all talk of painful spending cuts and tax rises soon to be announced by Hunt. I can't help but wonder if the whole U-turn on Truss tax cuts and mini budget fiasco was planned, to sugar coat this. Now they can say "look what happened to the pound when Truss and Kwarteng tried to do it another way, this is the only way". Tough measures needed for tough times, all necessary pain, just keep the faith in government against all evidence to the contrary.

They think it might keep the public from building up too much anger and it boiling over in the form of unrest as it steadily worsens. 2008 banking crisis austerity measures all over again. I might be wrong and it's all genuinely a result of incompetence, but nothing in politics happens by accident, right?

Well after reading and listening to FED DEFENDING THE DOLLAR NO MATTER WHAT CRASHES and the video attached with Catherine A Fitts on Sott.net the Great Reset is now in process and everyone is on board so we are watching the destruction of everything that made humanity and the world function until now. Medicine, finance and the economy is now being crashed in real time with the distraction of war in Ukraine TO KEEP US BUSY.

It all seems to be happening in slow motion but the C's once said that it'll reach a point where they won't be able to control it any longer and it'll all collapse. I really hope their wishful thinking rebounds on them but as Catherine A Fitts says it's a spiritual war and we all have a part to play. I hope my part can contribute in some way for the best possible outcome.

That article on Sott net is a must read and see.

Hi Thebull, it's on page two of The Puppet masters section. Cannot place it here for you as I don't know how. I'm very sorry but my knowledge of this computer is 'basic"

However they go about it, it seems as though there's some weight being put being pushing for an early general election. Below are a few Tweets showing The Independent newspapers front cover for Thursday calling for a general election; BBC newsnight discussion point; and at least one petition going around calling for same - not that petitions ever did anything, but the Newspaper front cover caught my eye.

Was Liz Truss's Subhuman behavior part of a orchestrated plan to reinstate Boris?

Opinion

The majority of Conservative Party members want Liz Truss to resign now - just six weeks after voting her in - and former PM Boris Johnson topped the list of who would be best to replace her, a new poll has found.

A YouGov poll of Tory members found 55% would now vote for Rishi Sunak, who lost out to Ms Truss, if they were able to vote again, while just 25% would vote for Ms Truss.

As her position as prime minister hangs by a thread following a major U-turn on the majority of the mini-budget, Tory members are largely unimpressed with Ms Truss.

The poll found 55% of members think she should resign now, while 38% believe she should remain.

And a majority (63%) think former PM Boris Johnson would be a good replacement, with 32% putting him as their top candidate, followed by Mr Sunak at 23%.

They also would support Mr Sunak as a replacement, with 60% thinking that would be a good idea, while 47% think new Chancellor Jeremy Hunt would be a good replacement.

Former leadership candidate Penny Mordaunt has a lot of support as well, with 54% thinking she would be a good replacement, while 62% think Defence Secretary Ben Wallace would be - although he ruled himself out last time.

A total of 31% of Tory members interviewed think they should be the only ones to elect a new leader, while 25% think only MPs should and the same number think MPs should pick the final two candidates and party members choose the final - as currently happens.

The poll was taken on the day and day after Mr Hunt announced the government was U-turning on the majority of the mini-budget policies announced three weeks before by Kwasi Kwarteng, who was sacked as chancellor on Friday.

YouGov polled 530 Conservative Party members between 17-18 October, with age, gender, EU referendum voting and the recent leadership vote weighted to represent the population.

In Castle Point, the party has a 26,000 majority but local members are horrified at the chaos and disagree about the remedy
