Can we talk about Andrew Tate

I wonder what Candace Owens would have to say about this. Would she find a justifying argument.

I really like her and I watch her a lot - but I actually think she probably would. The one Tate die hards throw around in those cases is that he's purposefully saying controversial stuff to stir the pot, because that's how you get internet famous. So he's just playing the game by its rules.

I have to admit that I remain impressed with the speed and creativity with which these lot come up with a cover story. He doesn't even need to lift a finger, they'll do that for him.

Yet again I'm reminded of the types of denial listed in The Wave:
  • Literal denial: "no, it didn't happen"
  • Interpretative denial: facts are not denied - but interpreted or rationalised
  • Implicatory denial: there's no attempt to deny the facts or their interpretation. What is denied is the psychological, political or moral implications that follow.
Unable to resort to point 1 as this stuff comes out of Tate's mouth on camera - or he posts it himself on his social media accounts - his followers have truly mastered points 2 and 3.

As for Candace, I bumped into the below short earlier today. For those who don't have Instagram and can't view it, she talks about not being able to fully trust Elon Musk because little is known of his views. She explains that, as a Catholic conservative, his support for transhumanism conflicts with her values. Additionally, she finds his personal life - having 13 children with multiple women - raises questions about his values and morality.

Seriously? She really can't see the similarities between Elon and Tate in that respect? At least Musk has never been accused by any of his baby mamas (or a government body) of abuse, rape, violence, or sex trafficking. I can understand having sacred cows, but dang girl

This is from a few days ago:

Looks like I forgot to add a link to the reel, here it is:

What puzzles me is that these guys keep getting interviewed and invited to podcasts or to X Spaces with popular figures of the platform. Tucker interviewed Andrew and so did this guy Nawfal with his 1.9 m followers, and along with his brother Tristan, have been to Spaces sharing the mic with other popular X figures like Alex Jones, Musk and the aforementioned Carlson.

But lately some MAGA people have had them on their podcast too, like Benny Johnson and Alina Habba (Senior Advisor and attorney for Trump).

It really doesn't require much to find out that these guys are not "patriots" or being "persecuted by the matrix" as they claim, so what's the deal?

Maybe the Tates are just paying to have them interviewed or to appear on their show, and they could easily gaslight the hosts, "Oh those charges phony, its because I upset the system" and blah blah blah. Or if I put my tinfoil hat then these guys have handlers/friends in high places and do their sponsor's bidding... Anyway it is a puzzle.

There's also the click bait aspect of interviewing someone who will generate controversy. Sometimes it isn't as an endorsement or platform, sometimes it's about getting the views and the comments, even if they're condemning.

from Florida opens criminal investigation into Tate brothers

Florida has launched a criminal investigation into British-American influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate, who flew to the state last week from Romania, where they faced rape and human-trafficking charges.

Florida's attorney general, James Uthmeier, said investigators have issued search warrants and subpoenas as part of a "now-active" inquiry.

In the US, the brothers also face a civil suit from a woman alleging they coerced her into sex work, and then defamed her after she gave evidence to Romanian authorities. They strongly deny all the allegations against them.

A former kickboxer and self-described misogynist who appeared on UK TV show Big Brother, Andrew Tate has millions of followers online.
Andrew, 38, and his brother Tristan, 36, face separate charges in the UK of rape and human trafficking. They deny those allegations too.

Uthmeier, a Republican, said in Tuesday's statement: "Last week, I directed my office to work with our law enforcement partners to conduct a preliminary inquiry into Andrew and Tristan Tate.

"Based on a thorough review of the evidence, I've directed the Office of Statewide Prosecution to execute search warrants and issue subpoenas in the now-active criminal investigation into the Tate brothers."

The Tate brothers' lawyer Joseph McBride released a statement later Tuesday on the investigation.

"Today, Attorney General James Uthmeier threw ethics law out of the window when he publicly took a side in an ongoing Florida lawsuit where Andrew and Tristan Tate are suing a Florida woman for orchestrating a sophisticated plot to use sex as a weapon to ruin their lives," the statement read in part.

Mr McBride called the attorney general's comments "inflammatory" and "biased".

The Tates were first arrested in Romania in December 2022, with Andrew accused of rape and human trafficking and Tristan suspected of human trafficking. They moved to Romania from the UK several years ago.

They both denied the charges and spent several months under house arrest. A year later, in August 2024, they faced new allegations including sex with a minor and trafficking underage persons, all of which they deny.

The Tates are understood to be required to return to Bucharest at the end of March to satisfy prosecutors' terms; however, it is too early to say whether they will comply.

Police in the English county of Bedfordshire are still seeking Andrew's extradition on separate and unrelated allegations of rape and human trafficking, as well as tax evasion.

In the UK, four British women have filed a civil case against Andrew Tate in the country's High Court, alleging he raped and coercively controlled them, charges they also deny.

Those plaintiffs said it was clear he would not face criminal prosecution in Romania and appealed to UK authorities to take action.

Can't find the link to it, but came across a clip from an interview with Mikhaila Peterson, where she was discussing the controversy as to whether she slept with Tate or not, and she described him as a human shark that she wanted to learn how to make money from. An apt description.

It's from a few years ago, I had no idea but then did a quick search about it and came across this guy who made a few good points, take a look. It's awkward as heck that she's describing that situation to her father, and that she sounds like she's pretending it never happened while defending Tate at the same time, she even uses the Shark thing not as a red flag but kind of like a compliment.

Which kind of explains the appeal a guy like him may have with some women and impressionable young men, it's the fascination with the successful predator.

and this one that has one extra picture which looks suspicious
