The large-scale Ukrainian-US military exercises codenamed Rapid Trident 2016 have begun at the Yavoriv range in Ukraine’s Lvov region on Monday, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported, adding that the manoeuvers, which will last until July 8, involve more than 1,800 troops from 14 countries.

“The drills will involve armored vehicles and army aviation, small-arms target practice will also take place. Colleagues mainly from NATO countries will share their experience with the Ukrainian military,” the press service said.

According to the Lvov garrison and the international military exercise command, “The exercise will include the movement of military convoys, so some highway zones in the military range territory will be closed for civilian vehicular traffic.” The exercise command strongly advises civilians for security reasons not to visit during this period the range’s drill sites. The local residents have been requested not to go picking berries and mushrooms in the range area.

According to the UA Army Europe Command, Rapid Trident is a regional command post exercise and field training exercise focused on peacekeeping and stability operations to ensure a safe and secure environment within the operating environment.

The manoeuvers involve troops from Ukraine, the United States, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Georgia, the UK, Moldova, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Sweden and Turkey. The Rapid Trident exercise comes at the explicit request of the Ukrainian government and military.

The Defense Ministry reported previously that the Armed Forces of Ukraine planned to take part in 10 multinational exercise in 2016.

Ukraine’s Junta Security Service has found and destroyed a half hectare of marijuana field in the zone of Kiev’s military operation in the Donbass Region (eastern Ukraine), the SBU press service said on Saturday.

Marijauna Fields Across The Ukraine Junta Front Lines ! Supplies Of Drugs And Alcohol Fuel The Nazi Ukraine Forces !
http://novorossia.today/127749-2/

“The illegal planting of marijuana on the area of around 0.5 hectare has been destroyed by Ukraine’s Junta Security Service in the area of conducting anti-terrorist operation,” it said.

The field of more than 5,000 marijuana plants was located near the Artemovka village of the Donetsk region’s Konstantinovsky district. The SBU has also opened a criminal investigation against a local citizen who distributed drugs among the Nazi Ukrainian troops.

Intelligence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics has reported many times that Kiev forces use drugs and drink alcohol while on duty in the zone of the operation. The LPR’s ministry of state security earlier on Saturday said that a major channel of drugs supplies from Ukraine’s territory had been eliminated.

Goldmine: Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers Asks the West for $15 Billion "For the Restoration of Donbass"
http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/06/goldmine-ukrainian-cabinet-of-ministers.html

These figures were stated by the Minister of regional development, construction, and housing and communal services of Ukraine Gennady Zubko, during an interview to the English-language Ukrainian media.

The Ukrainian officials justify their insatiable appetites by the fact that the money will be spent on the reconstruction of homes and compensation for commercial companies. However, the victims of the punitive operations in Donbass will not be restored in the near future, said Zubko.

As a reminder, in June the taleteller-Poroshenko promised to allocate more than 3 billion hryvnia to the budgets of the occupying administrations of Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts, but the issue was not raised.

The Road to Impeachment: Poroshenko between the US and the Oligarchs
http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/06/the-road-to-impeachment-poroshenko.html

Leonid Kuchma created the modern Ukrainian political system which correct functions only when everything in the country depends on the president. All attempts by external players, and first and foremost the US, to modify or demolish it have ended in obvious failure. However, Americans are those people who find the right decisions only once they have done everything wrong. Post-Maidan Ukraine is no exception.

Immediately after Yanukovich’s overthrow, the Americans insisted that the system of government have a minimum of two poles, thereby hoping that the principle of “divide and conquer” would help them effectively pursue their policies in the country. But once again, they were wrong. If in 2014 everything still carried on relatively quietly, then in 2015 it all began. The sharp economic plummet compelled the major Ukrainian oligarchs to sharply increase their prices for “negotiability.” Little space was left for everyone, so by force of habit they began to push out and unseat their former partners from the overthrow of the Yanukovich regime.

Poroshenko understood that reaching agreements with everyone would be unrealistic, as there was simply not enough money in the country. So he started to squeeze out all of those who were not with him for sure. The first victim was the main Jew-Banderite of the country, Igor Kolomoysky. And he struck at him not once but twice, first by removing him from the post of governor of the Dnepropetrovsk region and taking Odessa out of his sphere of influence, and then by taking down his key political project “UKROP.” Of course, this was possible only thanks to the US, which supported Poroshenko.

On the other hand, according to the above-mentioned principle, they did not completely drown Benny. They say that it’s not just because Benny rendered them one valuable service on the market of processed petro-products, but that neither the GRU nor the FSB could find documented evidence against him, which would have been nice.

Next came the former project of Levochkin, later bought over by Kolomoysky, the Radical Party of Oleg Lyashko. By way of the case against Moseychuk, these guys were shown what it means to be impudent when adopting the budget and not listening to Mr. Hetman Poroshenko.

But Poroshenko’s most important victory of 2015 was the complete desacralization of his main partner, Arseniy Yatsenyuk. He “soaked” him long and thoroughly with a sense of tact and balance. His approval rating was driven down the drain.

The well-organized work of controlled media yielded the result: after a year, the personal rating of Yatsenyuk fell to 2%, thus forcing the Popular Front to accept the terms of surrender and become what is really a mere autonomous entity within the Poroshenko Bloc. Squeezing out Yatsenyuk thereafter couldn’t be done because of the position of the US. However, in early 2016 Poroshenko nonetheless received an “ok” to demolish the “European prime minister.” In exchange, the US was promised a “deep understanding” on issues of privatization and in the sphere of their geopolitical interests…..

While Poroshenko removed his competitors, the former “junior partners” began to gain political weight and stare in contemplation at the Hetman’s regalia. The rules of survival forced them to find a guarantor as well.

My Lady and the Three Musketeers Since the beginning of spring 2016, the guarantor's demand has been bringing Sadovoy, Saakashvhili, Avakov, and Tymoshenko "down to a common denominator."

1. Mr. Sadovoy It all began with the history of the pre-elections in Krivy Rog. Someone misunderstood and framed somewhere there, which is not clear, but the fact remains that Sadovoy was forced to consciously kick out the impassable swindler Semenchenko, who still remained extreme. Afterwards, Sadovoy decided to fight back by publicly criticizing the domestic and foreign policy of the president and obtained the Gribovichi. Moreover, the scandal was fanned to a truly Ukrainian media scale with everyone exposing “their own.” Put as number one on the list of the Self-Reliance party, Anna Gopko suddenly decided to tell GPU investigators the whole truth about Sadovoy….

And then one of the most famous Lvov journalists, Ostap Drozdov, recalled how back in 2006 in local political circles Sadovoy was called “Andrey Cheque” because before making any kind of decision he always took a piece of pater and wrote down the percentage of rollback.

Sadovoy didn’t get the “hint.” And then a whole dump was exposed in Nikolaev where the mayor, by “sheer coincidence” is a member of the Self Reliance party. And then again in Lvov the same “coincidence” happened again.

The political future of Sodovoy, in the apt expression of one Ukrainian political survivor, was “multiplied by zero.”

Conclusion: Self-Reliance will be squeezed out. Poroshenko already painfully dislikes it when someone else has a higher rating and he doesn’t control them. Especially now in such turbulent times.

2. Mr. Saakashvili The absolute incompetence of Saakashvili in perceiving Ukrainian political realities has almost cost him his post and career. He was “brought down to earth” at the end of 2015 and his head subject to control when in late May 2016 searches were held of his office and the house of the Odessa region governor’s assistant advisor, the ex-Consul General of Georgia, Teimuraz Nishnianidze. Searches were also held at the registration place of “For the Benefit of Odessa” foundation, after which Saakachvili broke and finally caved in.

Saakashvili can no longer be considered to have any independence. Bravo, Poroshenko, you’ve done it!

All of Saakashvili’s further political steps will follow the lead of the president, or else he will very quickly find out a bunch of interesting things about himself in the media. And not only him.

3. Mr. Avakov No full government in Ukraine is possible without total control over the security forces. But the new edition of the constitution subjects the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Cabinet and the Prime minister. The post of Minister of Internal Affairs was left for the Popular Front as a carrot. However, not even two months passed before conflict began to surface. Just the other day, the completely independent journalist Sergey Leshchenko leaked some dirt on Avakov that could simply slaughter him:

“Citizens don’t know about the Minister of Internal Affairs…In our government, there is not only the first vice premier Kubiv, but also the “super first vice premier” Avakov, whom no one speaks about loudly. Avakov, in fact, has the right to veto government decisions and is the person in the hierarchy of the Popular Front who is the highest representative in the government. All government decisions are agreed upon with him. This man is responsible not only for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but also, for example, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the streams in the Ministry of Transport, and for ports. What is the relationship between Avakov and the port industry in Ukraine? Why are his ‘overseers’ making money on it? This is a sphere of his responsibility, and this is simply absurd.”

The dirt that Leshchenko unveiled shouldn’t confuse anyone. First of all, the ordinary reader should know that he is not associated with Poroshenko (he is supposedly in opposition) and, secondly, Sergey did not write any of this for 10,000 dollars.

Avakov’s guys did not remain in debt. They sent a “little reply” back to the famous defender of all journalists, Anton Gerashchenko, who is already famous even outside of the country. Their little reply was:

“As regards the statement that Arsen Borisovich Avakov is the ‘super first vice premier,” well, we’ll leave this to be the beautiful words from the past of the journalist Sergey Leshchenko. Avakov is an influential minister, and his opinion is listened to by the president and the prime minister, but his status is minister of internal affairs as deligated to the Popular Front. Let Sergey Leshchenko give an example of a decision blocked by Arsen Avakov. I think that these are nothing more than beautiful words, because the minister of internal affairs does not have the opportunity to decide for everyone. He has just one vote out of 16 or 18 ministers.”

Avakov and the kind-word-sayers controlled by him have become very dangerous for Poroshenko. In addition to all of the above and taking into consideration Mr. Biden’s suddenly resurrected love for Yatsenyuk, I think that nothing good is in store for Avakov. In the best case scenario, resignation awaits him.

4. Yulia Tymoshenko The queen of political pause has once again proved that she is unsinkable even in current circumstances. Over the past six months, she has become the clear leader of sympathy among the Maidan electorate and is continuing to score points. Her key trump card is the tariff war which she has not yet used to its full extent. She is waiting for fall and the first new pay slips. Besides, she has been waiting for the most unexpected gift from Moscow, Nadezhda Savchenko. Savchenko is perhaps the most consistent and most important enemy of Poroshenko in 2016.
….

In this case, the sides are digging their trenches and preparing for the decisive battle which will be held in autumn, unless something interferes.

There is obviously more than a little desire to get rid of Yulia. Given the consistency of her party and the loyalty of part of local elites to her, this task is almost impossible. But Poroshenko has no other option.

Conclusion The Ukrainian political elite has not been such an easy nut to crack for the United States. They thought that everything was in their hands and that all they had to do was want something for it to happen.

But they miscalculated. The current Hetman already lacks the capacity to set the house in order at his own discretion. Someone is constantly trying to steal the chair out from under him, and he is already running out of time to destroy all of his enemies. Instead of one defeat, two new ones are brewing. Political chaos is gradually growing.

The first serious challenge to Poroshenko the hegemon, which he became after Yatsenyuk’s resignation, will be attempting to push a package of laws on Donbass through the parliament. Even if the guarantor of Minsk 2 will be able to do this, then a very hot political autumn awaits him which can only end in early elections to the Rada. And any new Verkhovna Rada, upon dividing up seats, will begin its work on considering the impeachment of the president.

Ecclesiastes 1:4-11

A generation goes, and a generation comes,
but the earth remains forever.

The sun rises, and the sun goes down,
and hastens to the place where it rises.

The wind blows to the south
and goes around to the north;
around and around goes the wind,
and on its circuits the wind returns.

All streams run to the sea,
but the sea is not full;
to the place where the streams flow,
there they flow again.

All things are full of weariness;
a man cannot utter it;
the eye is not satisfied with seeing,
nor the ear filled with hearing.

What has been is what will be,
and what has been done is what will be done,
and there is nothing new under the sun.

Is there a thing of which it is said,
“See, this is new”?
It has been already
in the ages before us.

There is no remembrance of former things,
nor will there be any remembrance
of later things yet to be among those who come after.

UAF shelling persistently targets Donbass infrastructure and civilians
http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/06/uaf-shelling-persistently-targets.html

Ukrainian security forces shelled the territory of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic 19 times over the past day, RIA Novosti reports from the headquarters of the LPR People’s Militia. “From June 27th to June 28th, 2016, 19 instances of shelling by the UAF were recorded in the LPR,” the LRP People’s Militia reported. According to this source, the most intensive shelling, featuring mortars from 82 to 120 mm calibre, infantry fighting vehicles and anti-aircraft installations, hit the positions of the People’s Militia in the Kalinovo, Veselogorovka, and Zolotoye-6 districts.

Cities of the Donetsk People’s Republic also found themselves under Ukrainian shelling last night. The city administration stated that on the night of June 28th, Ukrainian security forces shelled the Kuibyshev district of Donetsk, damaging five houses and a gas pipeline. According to the administration, however, there were no victims.

Such information once again confirms that Ukraine is openly violating the principles of the Minsk Agreements. The government and military leadership of Ukraine have chosen the tactic of “neither war nor peace.” Without venturing on an open and full-scale offensive, Ukrainian army units and fighters of the so-called volunteer battalions daily open fire on the territories of the unrecognized republics of Donbass.
They are also seizing the neutral territories (“gray zones”) designated by the OSCE mission as the demarcation line.

What is the point of such tactics? These attacks cause harm to the armed forces of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass, and such strikes are hitting the infrastructure of the republics and the defense systems of Donbass’ cities. These bombardments have a serious psychological impact on the civilian population of the DPR and LPR, and people get used to living in an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. What’s more, no one can say how much longer this situation will last.

Psychologically, uncertainty wears one down the most of all. As our sources in the DPR have reported, sometimes during serious shelling, many people run out of their homes and rejoice: finally, Ukrainian troops have begun an offensive! This means that militiamen and the peaceful population of Donbass are ready in advance to accept the inevitable losses associated with an offensive. They dream of quickly putting an end to this situation of uncertainty. Everyone in Donbass is sure that the next offensive by Ukrainian troops will end in their complete routing, which will be followed by a counter-offensive of the armies of the DPR and LPR that will liberate the cities of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics seized by Ukrainian troops.

Kiev is perfectly aware of the fatality of an offensive. Such would lead to military defeat and draw international condemnation of Ukraine. Thus, Ukrainian authorities have opted for the tactic of destroying the infrastructure and civilian population of Donbass without formally discarding the Minsk Agreements. The Donbass republics argue that the OSCE mission turns a blind eye to the numerous and daily violations of the ceasefire, thus giving confidence to the Ukrainian side and allowing it to employ the tactic of wearing down and bleeding out the enemy over a long period of time.

Ukrainian March in Polish town chants "Poland must perish"
http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/06/ukrainian-march-in-polish-town-chants.html

A scandal has unfolded in Poland surrounding the so-called March of Ukrainians living in Poland that took place on June 26th and celebrated the Sich Riflemen in the Polish city of Przemysl. During the event, participants clashed with young Poles, 23 of whom were detained by the Polish police for “clarifying circumstances.”

Meanwhile, the Polish anti-Banderite public is outraged not only by the arrest of their fellow citizens, but also by the fact that such a march is allowed in Poland in general, especially on the eve of the anniversary of the Volyn Massacre in which the “heroes of Ukraine” massacred hundreds of thousands of Poles.
In addition, during the so-called march, in response to anti-Banderite slogans of the counter-protesters, one of the Ukrainians yelled “Poland has not perished yet, but it has to!” [A reference to the famous line of the Polish anthem - JA]. The pro-government police were not interested in the vile behavior of the Ukrainian, but most interesting is the local journalist Tomasz Maciejczuk who has offered a reward for helping to locate this Ukrainian.

This has been reported by the Polish publication wmeritum.pl . The publication mentions how the Polish public is currently urging the government and parliament of Poland to officially recognize the Banderites’ massacre at Volyn as genocide.

Instead, however, the publication complains that serious comments from people linked to the ruling party either deny the crime or call for Polish-Ukrainian relations not to be undermined. Similar trends can be seen in Ukraine itself. The natural reaction to the later, the portal writes, was the reaction of Polish youth to the organized March of Ukrainians in which, according to kresy.pl, around 500 people participated.

Outraged Polish activists chanted “Stick it in a Banderite’s mouth” and “Poland is anti-Bandera”. As kresy.pl reports, the atmosphere was escalated by the fact that one of the march’s participants wore a black and red t-shirt (the color of the UPA flag).

Tomasz Maciejczuk wrote on his Facebook profile yesterday that he is willing to pay up to 2,000 zloty for assistance in establishing the identity of the Ukrainian who shouted such offensively altered words of the Polish anthem. The video of the incident is available here.

https://www.facebook.com/bohaterskapolska/videos/vb.1428150267478716/1576230672670674/?type=2&theater

“A person screams ‘Poland has not perished yet, but it has to.’ Screams this during the Ukrainian march in Polish Przemysl. The police don’t react, and the person remains unpunished. How many times will we pretend that it’s raining when the Ukrainians are spitting in our faces?”, the journalist told wmeritum.pl .

He also stated that such behavior should be responded to appropriately.

“Poland is my home, my home land, and I believe that this type of behavior and chanting is simply unacceptable. Either we are going to react, or the Ukrainians will not respect us. For too long we’ve waited for Polish-Ukrainian dialogue, and for too long we have allowed them to build a cult of UPA without any confessions or repentance for their sins, especially those related to the murders during the Volyn massacre,” he added.

The correspondent in Donbass and former volunteer of the Open Dialogue Foundation also commented on current policy towards Ukraine:

“We cannot continue to pretend that there is no problem just because Ukraine is waging a mythical war against Russia, a war which in the end ended up a frozen conflict. The last real attack took place in February 2015. We should pose the issue clearly: either we resolve the UPA problem, or there can be no talk of aiding Ukraine. We can help, but only provided they comply with certain conditions,” he added.

As already mentioned, Tomasz Maciejczuk is a correspondent covering the conflict in Donbass. Some time ago, it became known that he was banned from entering Ukraine because “he represents a threat to state security.”

Special Representative of Germany to the OSCE Suggests Punishment for Violations of the Minsk Agreements
http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/06/special-representative-of-germany-to.html

The special representative of the German government in the framework of chairmanship of the OSCE Gernot Erler offered to impose sanctions for violations of the Minsk agreements.

He stated this at the Annual OSCE conference for reviewing problems in the field of security.

"The problem is that violations of the Minsk agreements remains virtually unpunished. We need to think whether it can remain like that," he said.

In his opinion, "all are already tired of the mutual accusations (about the violation of the truce in Donbass)" and "the political process is being impeded". "Agreements should be observed by all parties," says Erler.

He also called on all parties to the conflict to adhere to the agreements on a ceasefire, to provide unimpeded access for observers, and to stop the destruction of surveillance technology of the monitoring mission.

UN condemns Kiev's new tactic endangering 430,000 civilians
http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/07/un-condemns-kievs-new-tactic.html

The Ukrainian government has taken the decision to move the Zaytsevo block post to Mayorsk and the Novotroitskoe checkpoint to Berzovoe. The head of the Donetsk regional administration, Pavel Zhebrivsky, remarked that together with the transfer of these checkpoints, the work of humanitarian and logistical centers located at these points will be terminated.

The UN office for the coordination of humanitarian affairs is concerned about the safety of the civilian population over the government’s decision to transfer two checkpoints closer to the demarcation line. This was reported by the press secretary of the United Nations.

“Today, the UN office for the coordination of humanitarian affairs expressed concern over the decision of the Ukrainian government to move two checkpoints in the Donetsk region closer to the ‘contact line,’” the UN press secretary stated.

He remarked that in May alone 430,000 people passed through these checkpoints. Accordingly, their transfer might lead to greater casualties. the UN believes that people will be subjected to greater danger and risk of coming under sniper fire or mortar shelling the closer that that the checkpoint is moved.

The issue of checkpoint security has been raised more than once at meetings of the JCCC and OSCE. However, it has not yielded the desired result. The Ukrainian side simply ignores the recommendations of monitoring missions by unilaterally blocking border crossing points, arranging more provocations against civilians, and moving across the demarcation line. The other day, due to the artificially provoked queue at the Stanitsa Luganskaya checkpoint, one civilian died from the unbearable conditions of waiting on the street and two were hospitalized with heart attacks.

Transferring checkpoints closer to the contact line subjects the civilian population to even greater danger from continuous shelling in these areas. On the night of April 27th, the Elenovka checkpoint was shelled while civilians were there. Five people, including a pregnant woman, were killed and another ten were wounded.

“This tragedy has once again confirmed the obvious fact that the Kiev government and nationalist volunteer battalions are provoking a military conflict in Donbass. The ‘democrats’ have absolutely no intention of peacefully settling the conflict. This government needs war, not negotiations. The constant maintenance of a state of war and shelling allows the Kiev authorities to increase the military budget. Poroshenko’s enterprises have already largely switched to weapons manufacturing, in particular producing grenade launchers and armored vehicles. In addition, everything can be attributed to war from prices to poverty and corruption, and even offshores. Putin and the so-called ATO can be blamed for everything. So that the fire does not go out, they throw in logs, as was the case with the shelling of Elenovka,”the people’s deputy of the Verkhovna Rada and co-founder of the Committee for the Salvation of Ukraine, Vladimir Oleynik, commented.

Earlier, fire from small automatic arms was opened on civilians at the checkpoint near Marinka. The civilians under fire from Kiev security forces were forced to flee. At this moment, the checkpoint is closed indefinitely according to the decision of Ukrainian authorities.

In the area of the Mayorsk block post near Gorlovka, Ukrainian security forces have begun to delay the inspection of vehicles coming from the direction of the DPR. People are forced to sleep in their cars at the checkpoint on the frontline. In April, a similar situation was observed tat the Mayorsk checkpoint, just like at the ill-fated Elenovka block post near Donetsk.

By moving checkpoints, the Kiev government is apparently pursuing several aims. First of all, by transferring checkpoints closer to the contact line, Kiev is attempting to occupy the neutral zone and therefore compel the forces of the people’s republics to retreat deeper into their own territory according to the latest agreements on intelligence operations of the warring sides. But the republics understand this “military cunning” of Kiev and are opposing it.

Secondly, by arranging another provocation and shelling of checkpoints, the Ukrainian side is trying to once again disrupt the Minsk Agreements and shift the blame for their failure onto the militia.

Thirdly, by increasing the danger level for people passing through checkpoints, Kiev obtains a formal excuse for closing more checkpoints by citing concerns for the civilian population’s safety. In doing so, they are trying to gradually implement a total blockade of Donbass and thereby exacerbate the difficult situation of the republics’ peaceful civilians.

OSCE Complicit in Capture of DPR Mine Sappers
http://www.fort-russ.com/2016/06/osce-complicit-in-capture-of-dpr-mine.html

On the evening of 28th June, information appeared in the media about the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Shirokino near Mariupol capturing eight DPR soldiers, who allegedly led intelligence activities on the territory controlled by Ukraine. In addition, it was reported that in a special operation the Ukrainian military killed two of the militia.

Adviser to the head of the SBU Yury Tandit confirmed the information about the sabotage, stating that during the detention of the DPR military personnel, they were asked to surrender their weapons, and those who did not comply were killed on the spot.

Representative of administration of the Ukrainian President on issues of the so-called ATO Alexander Motuzyanik also commented on this incident. He reported that they were taken prisoner by soldiers of the 9th separate motorized rifle assault corps (Novoazovsk). He said the names of all the detainees captured, the youngest of them is only 21 years old, and the oldest is 49. Motuzyanik said that the militias were captured in the village of Vodyane, near Shirokino.

For its part, there is information about the capture near the village of Shirokino of eight DPR soldiers, and two are confirmed killed in the defence of the DPR. The Deputy Commander of the operational command of the DPR Eduard Basurin reported that it happened when the engineering unit of a separate unit of the DPR was conducting routine mine clearance in coordination with the OSCE mission in the area of the front of the Shirokino village. Specifically, in order to capture the bomb squad, the reconnaissance group of the 54th brigade of the UAF and a division of the volunteer unit of the Ukrainian army moved forward to the specified area.

"In the area of Shirokino, on June 27th, an engineering unit of a separate unit of the DPR conducted routine clearance in coordination with the OSCE mission. Under the cover of artillery fire, to capture the bomb squad, the reconnaissance group of the 54th brigade of the UAF and a division of a volunteer unit of the Ukrainian army moved forward to the specified area. As a result of the artillery fire, two soldiers of the DPR were killed and eight were seriously wounded, and they, not being able to resist, were taken prisoner," said Basurin.

He added that the Ukrainian side was informed that Kiev had information about the time and place of the demining in Shirokino. "Knowing the place and time of the work, the Ukrainian command gave the order to open artillery fire in this area," said the Deputy commander.

At the moment the representatives of the DPR Ministry of Defence have evacuated the bodies of the sappers, who died as a result of shelling by the UAF at the frontline near the Shirokino village. The dead were sent to the morgue in the urban village of Starobeshevo.

The baseness and insidiousness in the capture of the DPR sappers, which were conducting demining activities with prior notice to the OSCE and the Ukrainian Army, once again confirm that the current Kiev command led by Poroshenko and Co. are generally useless to agree about something. It is understandable that after such diversions, the people of Donbass don't want to hear about any trust or compromise with the current Kiev authorities.

"Of course, with the current government and the absence of trust towards it, Donetsk citizens won't allow anybody to take control of the border, because they will take the border at day, and at night everything will be carved out. It is necessary to conduct direct negotiations with Donbass. It is very important to seek, above all, trust among the people. The current government in the eyes of the Donetsk is like a stepmother, they will not speak with her," said the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of three convocations, co-founder of Committee of Rescue of Ukraine Volodymyr Oleinik.

Despite the fact that the whole world insists on the necessity of fulfilling Minsk 2, the government in Kiev neither thinks about any truce or the implementation of the Minsk agreements. Despite claiming their commitment to peace, the Ukrainian authorities continue to try to take Donbass by military means, moreover, already they are even not ashamed in the presence of international observers and do not bother to imitate a truce.

The US Army's deputy commanding general and staff members of the House Defense Appropriations Committee visited Yavoriv to observe both the ongoing US mission to Ukraine and the joint military exercise Rapid Trident 16, the US Army Europe said in a press release.

"It’s been reassuring to say the least to see that that [training] effort is under way to get to a sort of sustainable instruction level where the Ukrainians are taking complete ownership of that training aspect," US Army Europe deputy commanding general Major Gen. John Gronski stated in the release.

Rapid Trident 16 is an annual exercise with participants from 13 different allied and partnered nations. It focuses on defensive operations, interoperability between partner nations, and validation of training units, the press release noted.

The joint US-Ukraine drill is taking place at the Yavoriv test range located between the city of Lviv and the Polish border.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman called for a more aggressive NATO posture along Russia’s border claiming that Moscow poses an unrelenting threat.

Ukraine’s PM Calls for More NATO Action to Limit 'Russian Aggression'
http://sputniknews.com/world/20160703/1042350930/ukraine-pm-nato-russian-threat.html

The Prime Minister said in an interview with German media that he doesn't think NATO is "saber rattling".

"Russia is the one doing that close to NATO borders" He told Funke media group, adding that "A door to NATO should stay open for Ukraine."

Groysman's position echoes German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble's infamous criticism of Berlin's policy towards Russia. According to Schauble, even the signals of de-escalating tensions should include elements of intimidation when it comes to dealing with Moscow.

Schauble's remarks made in response to German Minister of Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier's rebuke of NATO's aggressive build-up on Russia's border elicited an immediate firestorm.

This position was shared by leading members of Germany's ruling Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party including foreign affairs expert Norbert Rottgen who called the accusations "an outrageous reproach."

Nonetheless, the militaristic views of Wolfgang Schauble remain out of vogue amongst Berlin's foreign policy establishment with the Western media interpreting Steinmeier's criticism of NATO policy to be a direct reflection of the opinions of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Although the body politic of Germany continues to be resistent to Schauber's virulent strand of Russophobia, the near recitation of the war hawk's position by Ukraine's Prime Minister signals growing trouble for Moscow's relations with Europe and raises the specter of increased NATO hostility in the months to come.

Ukraine expects to get additional $500 million from the United States to strengthen country's security and defense sector, President Petro Poroshenko said Saturday.

Ukraine Expects Additional $500 Mln Aid From US to Bolster Defense
http://sputniknews.com/europe/20160703/1042349816/ukraine-expects-usa-defense-millions.html

Earlier in the day, Poroshenko said that Kiev and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will prepare a comprehensive package of assistance to Ukraine at the NATO summit in Warsaw scheduled for July 8-9.

"335 million dollars from the United States are directed towards the allocation of this aid. This step is important in the context of the ongoing US Congress review of the bill for the additional allocation of 500 million dollars from the US. We sincerely look forward to further strengthening our cooperation," Poroshenko said.

Ukraine expects to receive three International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan tranches in accordance with a mutually agreed timetable by the end of 2016, the country's Finance Minister Oleksandr Danylyuk said.

Ukraine Expects 3 IMF Loan Tranches by 2017
http://sputniknews.com/business/20160702/1042330173/ukraine-loans-imf.html

In June, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that the country expects to receive a total of $1.7 billion from the IMF in 2016.

"We had a year-long break in cooperation with the IMF. And my main task as an authorized negotiator is to return to active cooperation with the IMF. The prime minister and the president fully support me in this. We have resumed cooperating, this is a clear signal from the IMF indicating that they support our plans and actions. We will further proceed in accordance with the timetable agreed on with the IMF…Our chief concern is to implement our reform program and to finally bolster the country's economy. So we will receive three tranches by the end of the year," Danylyuk said in an interview with Ukraine's Zerkalo Nedeli newspaper, published on Saturday.

On March 11, the IMF approved a four-year program of financial aid to Ukraine, which stipulates a $17.5 billion loan over the next four years. The Ukrainian government has to implement new economic policies for the IMF to disburse the funds.

http://ren.tv/novosti/2016-07-05/poroshenko-zamenil-pogony-ukrainskih-voennyh-na-fashistskie

Poroshenko has replaced the shoulder straps on the fascist Ukrainian military
New stars on the uniform of the Ukrainian military are very reminiscent of stars of the fascist policemen.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed the document, according to which the shoulder straps of soldiers will disappear Soviet star. As stated by the adviser to the President Yury Biryukov, "this painstaking work was done more than a year".
It is noted that the basis for the creation of new signs on the shoulder straps took the example form the Ukrainian insurgent army (UPA) and Riflemen.
However, despite this, diamonds on the shoulder straps of Ukrainian soldiers vaguely resemble the stars of the fascist policemen.
However, as the adviser said Poroshenko, reform of the soldier's ammunition had a lot of detractors, but its creators managed to overcome all the negativity.
"The whole bunch put "attention" of the enemies, intrigues, scandals, gossip, complaints. And hard working group of enthusiasts. Today come to an end", - he wrote on the social network page.
It is noted that the solemn presentation of the new epaulet will host a parade in honor of independence day of Ukraine on August 24.

UAF hide behind a shield of peaceful citizens
What actually became the reason of indignation of inhabitants of Torezk

On the night of July 5, as reported by the news Agency, residents of the city of Torezk (formerly Dzerzhinsk), in the vicinity of Gorlovka opposed the actions of the controlling city of the Ukrainian security forces. About a hundred people blocked the movement of the joints of the UAF in the city, but they are harshly dispersed the Ukrainian authorities, accusing him of sympathizing with the Russian world.

The city quickly pulled the backup, and the chief of police in Donetsk region Vyacheslav Abroskin immediately called the protesters "a group of previously convicted persons in a state of alcoholic intoxication".

Several activists were arrested on the spot. Abroskin has already threatened them with court.

That's the first relatively recent mass action of the inhabitants of that part of the Donbass controlled Kiev regime. To put it mildly, hard to believe that a hundred "alcoholics and criminals" the night will go on the road to get in the way of heavy military equipment. "Free press" to understand the true causes of popular indignation.

— Last month, the militia began to give "back", — says the resident of Gorlovka, the writer Ivan Nechiporuk. About a year the militia DND in the area of the city was forbidden to answer the attacks of UAF. Fought primarily with small arms. And now allowed to use mortars, Armored personnel carriers. Ukrainian "liberators" realized that it is safer to place his artillery between the houses of the same Dzerzhinsk and other captured cities. I told one of the friends of the residents of Dzerzhinsk, in their yard supplied three ACS with these vents that a person can easily get.
After a sleepless night of 3 to 4 July, when the UAF is close to the center mounted guns and fired at Gorlovka, in the evening 4 number of residents of Dzerzhinsk saw customize military equipment and ammunition in the area of an unfinished building between the Holy Macarius temple and city Council (the city centre, next to residential flats). Came out with the outrage because it was clear what all of this is pulled together in this area, began to interfere with the movement of equipment. Came the command. Labeling all the protesters "wool and separable" called the police. As the locals say, if it wasn't 10pm, this protest could have occupied the whole town, and so it was only natural indignation of citizens from the nearby houses.

For the past two years, more than half of the territory of Donbass under the control of the Kiev regime. What is the mood now the residents?

— Just today I talked on the phone with the inhabitants of Donetsk Konstantinovka, where remains of the Ukrainian executioners, — says the representative of the DPR in the Rostov region Eduard Popov. — The situation has changed little since the time here was crushed by an eight year old girl. Accumulated discontent. The population in these areas live worse than residents of the unrecognized republics. Although the DPR and the LPR, most people are too difficult financial position, but where people perceive the power as their own. And whatever they claim to the current state of the republics, the vast majority will never want to change their grip on Kiev.

Acute manifestations of discontent in the occupied part of Donbass in the past. Since the most active supporters of the NPT or were forced to leave in the unrecognized Republic or was arrested by the Ukrainian authorities. While Ukrainian forces have made some conclusions and tried openly in the streets people miss. But still, the soldiers UAF perceived by most of the residents of Konstantinovka, and all of Donbass, as invaders. There are cases when civilians can not stand, and speak in the heat of it all, what do you think about the uninvited guests. Just because people from small towns such as Dzerzhinsk, Kostiantynivka, Slavyansk is the backbone of the army DPR. And when UAF shelled militia positions, people in these cities realize that beat on their families and friends. Of course, dislike turning into hatred of punishers increases.

Therefore, such "policemen" as Abroskin, nothing left to do, except that to call all the inhabitants of the occupied part of the Donbass alcoholics and criminals. Alcoholics just would sit home and not go out to protest in the streets. To protest out the most active people it is important how and with what authority they live.

— Repression against civilians in the South-East, — said the Director of the historical research Foundation "the Foundation" Alexey Anpilogov. — In Kramatorsk and Slavyansk continued to operate secret prisons where they disagree with the actions of the Kiev regime. Even those who never spoke out against the regime. A recent example is deported from Russia Andrei Borodavko, as soon as he landed in Kiev, was immediately arrested. Although he never held a gun in my life. The number of such arrests of undesirables in Ukraine as a whole in the hundreds or even thousands of cases. In this regard, a particularly interesting revelation aidarova, both former and currently employees. They are not shy to record on camera their "revelations" about how committed crimes against civilians in the South-East. So the people of that part of the Donbass, which is now occupied by the UAF, only in extreme cases, to Express their discontent. The reason is simple — fear, including their relatives. On the other hand, the action in Dzerzhinsk, which was released more than a hundred people, shows that it really unhappy. It's a lot for such a small town.
"SP": — In your opinion, will it be possible to finally crush the resistance of the inhabitants of the South-East?

Is clearly seen that the Kiev regime has to resort to increasingly brutal forms of dictatorship against its own people. And not only in the Donbass. The process will develop. Now the social situation in Ukraine will deteriorate, since July, have almost doubled the payments for utilities. In the end, with Petro Poroshenko, at best, repeat what happened with the "orange" Victor Yushchenko, who by the end of his presidential term had the support of several percent of the population.

Kerry: US Intervention prevented bloodshed in Ukraine
http://rusvesna.su/news/1467923507

The intervention of the United States and some European countries to the situation in Ukraine in 2014 have prevented the bloodshed in the country, said Secretary of state John Kerry.

On Thursday during his visit to Kiev Secretary of state met with U.S. Embassy staff. During the conversation he touched upon the events of 2014, when there were clashes on the Maidan and was ousted from power President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.

Kerry called the events "struggle for freedom and independence."

"I believe, without our help at every step of the way, especially in those first days, and without sanctions against Russia, without the unity of Europe and the United States, without our pressure on (Russian President Vladimir) Putin — who knows who would be marched through the streets of Kiev today, and who knows what bloodshed could happen in this fight," said Kerry.
According to him, the US "doing what they do best — help people to be who they want to be." The Secretary of state said that this implies, in particular, the protection of human rights and the rule of law.

Kerry also expressed confidence that "the whole world we (USA) jealous in terms of the quality of our economy and technology, our medical care, the ability to create and entrepreneurial activity to our nation".
:pinocchio:

Unfortunately, Kerry  has a convoluted view of the "the whole world", a world that must bend to the will of America were # 1. Personally, I don't know how Sergey Lavrov can carry out a conversation with that man; it must be incredibly painful.

it must be incredibly painful.

:wow:
:rotfl:

In my opinion, quite accurate. They are masochists: Lavrov and Putin, Medvedev and the other with Surkov. How else can one explain sounding every speech, the definition of "our Western partners". That's only recently appeared Zakharova. Good for her. The only trying to call things by their proper names.
By the way, has long wanted to ask, just don't know in what branch it is necessary to ask. I ask here, can someone tell me. Why next to the forum name constellation are depicted this way? As if we look at it from the reverse side. There is some hidden meaning?

Soviet-style youth squads are making a comeback in eastern Ukraine (Sound Clip)
_http://www.globalpost.com/article/6780926/2016/07/06/soviet-style-youth-squads-are-making-comeback-eastern-ukraine
7-6-16
In the self-declared Donetsk People’s Republic, the breakaway region of eastern Ukraine, training for war starts young.

Teenage girls wearing Russian military uniforms spend Saturday afternoons taking apart and putting together Kalashnikovs. The average Russian soldier needs more than 10 seconds to break one down; 15-year-old Katerina, who declined to give her last name, takes just 9 seconds. With a blindfold on.

“Since I was little I preferred playing football with boys to playing with dolls,” said Katerina with a smile, before getting serious. “This is our history. … We remember our history. We remember who we are.”

They are young Ukrainians who want to separate from Ukraine and join Russia. They call themselves rebels, although Ukraine prefers "separatists." When she refers to history, Katerina is embracing Ukraine’s Soviet past — including reviving the Soviet tradition of cities creating youth squads.

“Since Soviet times, the military and patriotic education of school children was a priority,” says the teenagers' instructor, Sergey Fomchenko, “to cultivate love of school, motherland, and city.”

Donetsk is largely independent from Ukraine after two years of war, sparked in 2014 when hundreds of thousands of pro-European Ukrainians threw out a pro-Russian government. In response, pro-Russian residents along the Russian border in eastern Ukraine seized government buildings. Russian troops entered Donetsk and helped local fighters repel Ukrainian soldiers.

Today, the front that divides the Donetsk People’s Republic and the neighboring Luhansk People’s Republic from the rest of Ukraine is 280 miles long. Ukrainian army soldiers guard checkpoints on one side; Donetsk fighters do the same on the other.

“Ukraine split into two parts,” Fomchenko says. “We loved our city and our region and kept loving it. The whole eastern Ukraine is closer [culturally] to Russia. That’s how it’s always been. … I would like us to be part of Russia.”

When the girls aren’t training, they’re proselytizing. They walk through Horlivka, a city of about 250,000, passing out Donetsk military recruiting fliers to fighting-age males — anyone between 18 and 55. The girls are guarded by local police officers wearing Russian uniforms.

“I can’t serve. I’m too young and we’re not in a state of martial law now, so there’s no mobilization of women. This is how I can make a contribution,” Katerina says, walking quickly with a stack of white pamphlets. “First and foremost, a man defends his motherland, his home, his family. And only then comes all the rest.”

But as this region separates from Ukraine ideologically, teenagers’ futures are becoming more uncertain. Most residents who could leave left long ago: the UN estimates the number to be well over 1 million. In Donetsk, there are no working banks, and the highest salary — $225 per month — is a soldier’s.

Katerina stops to hand fliers to two 17 year olds.

“Right now, there’s no prospects here,” says Vadim Bazey, when asked about his economic future.

“The best option in terms of opportunities is to go abroad, for example to America or England, and find companies there,” says Alexandr Goryakin.

But that’s impossible — they’re landlocked in Donetsk. Because of checkpoints, the two 17 year olds can’t leave the self-styled republic to get Ukrainian passports. And their Donetsk IDs allow access only to Russia.

None of that matters to Katerina. Ukraine and Russia might have agreed Donetsk should eventually reintegrate into Ukraine, but she and almost everyone here rejects that, because of what she says this war has forced them to see.

“There was a shell in my apartment block. Everything was blown up. We were running away with my whole family,” she said. “When someone you know gets injured or killed, it’s very hard to keep going. When you just saw him, and two minutes later you’re told he is no longer there, it’s very hard.”

Sometimes it’s hard to remember that the girls are girls. Before we left, they wanted to show us one more thing. They giggled as one of the teenagers unfurled a flag with their logo: a red stiletto over an AK-47.

The North Atlantic Alliance is a "Cold War-era dinosaur" that has long outlived its usefulness, but is trying to survive by sparking conflicts around the world, president of the Future of Freedom Foundation Jacob Hornberger told the Liberty Report. It is in this context that NATO's muscle flexing towards Russia should be viewed, experts agree.

The alliance "was brought into existence to wage the Cold War. The Cold War ended, but, unfortunately, unlike the Warsaw Pact, which consisted of the Soviet Union and the Eastern European countries, NATO decided to stay in existence," he said.

British instructors will complete the training of 4,000 Ukrainian military personnel by March 2017, UK Secretary of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs Philip Hammond told journalists on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Warsaw.

"We have a very active cooperation with Ukraine. The UK will train 4,000 Ukrainian servicemen until March 2017," Hammond said.

The minister also expressed his hope to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and NATO, adding that the UK plans to make a significant contribution to this cooperation, particularly in the field of training Ukraine’s servicemen.

He also emphasized that the process of Montenegro’s accession to NATO shows that the alliance’s door is potentially open to all countries, including Ukraine.

In March, British Secretary of State for Defense Michael Fallon said in a statement that the UK instructors and advisers already trained 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers, adding that there are plans to train 300 more in 2016.

President Obama is in Warsaw, Poland today where NATO members are holding a summit to show the alliance will stand firm against new threats, including a “resurgent Russia.” The Warsaw meeting is being held in a district of the capital, Praga, that Poles view as a symbol of Russian betrayal of their nation.

US Sends Another 1,000 Troops To Poland As Part Of NATO Effort To Counter Russia

In the meeting, Obama called on NATO to "stand firm" against Russia, terrorism and other challenges even as a key member, UK, retrenches from Europe. In an op-ed published in the Financial Times on Friday, Obama says the U.S. and European nation "must summon the political will, and make concrete commitments" to affirm European cooperation.

“This may be the most important moment for our transatlantic alliance since the end of the Cold War,” Obama wrote. “Russia’s aggression against Ukraine threatens our vision of a Europe that is whole, free and at peace.” The US president added that “NATO will once again send a very clear message that we are here.”

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg echoed the US President, mentioning deployment of troops, military infrastructure and hardware closer to Russia’s borders.

The upcoming 2016 NATO Summit, which will take place in Warsaw, Poland, on July 8-9, 2016, will be a crucial milestone for the alliance.

NATO Heads Of State Summit Under The Dictate Of The US
http://www.kawther.info/wpr/2016/07/07/nato-heads-of-state-summit-under-the-dictate-of-the-us

Note from Author: The gathering of NATO Heads of State and Governments in The Warsaw Summit rather will be not in sake of the EU. The NATO’s summit will as usual adopt a series of decisions, a package of US dictations sent earlier to NATO member states. For example, the US President Barack Obama demanded Germany to deploy military forces on the Russian border of Litauen. From my opinion strengthening the military presence at the Russian borders will have a negative effect on the relation between the European countries and Russia. Which is in the interest of the Transatlantic Pact and of the US, who themselves increased sales with Russia while their so-called partners, the vassal states of the EU, have lost by deploying the sanctions against Russia. “Divide et impera!” at work. When will the European Community stand up against this constant aggressions of the US-led NATO and vote for peace and cooperation with Russia?“

Strengthening and modernizing NATO’s defense and deterrence posture will be the focus of the 2016 Summit, according to a recent NATO statement. At its 2014 Summit in Wales, NATO agreed to a number of short-term measures to bolster the alliance’s conventional deterrent. Dubbed the Readiness Action Plan, these measures sought to expedite the arrival of NATO reinforcements to states under attack from Russia.

This policy reproduces, on a smaller scale, the role US troops in Europe during the Cold War. Central and Eastern European states welcomed these pledges at the Wales Summit as a long-overdue adjustment to the alliance’s “strategic reality,” as noted in the 2015 CNS report, Ensuring Deterrence against Russia: The View from NATO States. The upcoming Warsaw Summit will build on the Readiness Action Plan and announce further steps that aim to strengthen the alliance.

The summit will also come with a major focus on cyber-related capabilities. The alliance is expected to declare cyber an operational domain of warfare, reflecting an increased Russian focus on asymmetrical warfare.

The Warsaw Summit, which will take place on 8-9 July 2016, will be a key milestone for the Alliance. Allied leaders will take the next steps in ensuring the Alliance’s collective defence. Strengthening and modernising NATO’s defence and deterrence posture will be at the heart of the Summit. Allies will also assess the long-term implications of the crisis on NATO’s relations with Russia and consider the next steps.

During the Summit, NATO Heads of State and Government will come together in the Polish capital to take decisions to adapt the Alliance to a fundamentally changed security environment. This will ensure NATO is able to respond to the full spectrum of threats from any direction.
