The 2014 American Coup in Ukraine (101)

Moscow is ready – and always has been in its history – to provide full-scale protection of its ally, but the final decision on which side the ally is on is made by the leader of the country that was attacked by a Maidan in the interests of their people and their state.

No one did more for the victory of the Kiev Maidan in 2014 and for the overthrow of Yanukovych than Yanukovych himself. Funding nationalist and even openly Nazi movements, cleansing the political space of the remnants of Russian and/or pro-Russian political forces, a rigid course towards European integration, aggressive anti-Russian propaganda in the media, actively supported by the leading speakers of the Party of Regions, now playing innocent sheep on Russian TV channels – all of this is on Yanukovych’s conscience.

A similar policy has been pursued in Belarus by Lukashenko in recent years. And, as expected, he worked towards his own Maidan. However, Lukashenko turned out to be tougher and bolder than his former Kiev colleague, so the Minsk “regime” is still holding out. But Belarus will never be the same again. Lukashenka himself was forced to admit this, having promised constitutional reform and not ruling out an early presidential election immediately after the adoption of a new constitution.

Lukashenko does not want to leave politics. In his interview with the Russian media, he told us that only he can save Belarus and that he will never leave his farm to its fate. But it’s all talk. Even if Lukashenko survives to the age of Elizabeth II of England, sooner or later his rule will still end due to natural causes, and someone else will have to “save” Belarus.

American Ex-Paratrooper Joins Georgian Legion Fighting in Ukraine
Georgia Today Snip: 4-5 minutes
KIEV – An American former paratrooper has joined the Ukrainian army’s Georgian National Legion and will take part in active combat missions in the country’s war torn Donbass Region, the group’s commander Mamuka Mamulashvili announced at a press conference Wednesday.

Brian Christopher Boyenger, a retired officer and former sniper from the US Army’s elite 101st Airborne Division, is the first US citizen to formally join the Ukrainian military in an official combat role since hostilities broke out against Russian forces and their separatist proxies in April 2014.

“This is the first incident, that I know of, when a US citizen will be involved in the fighting and represent one of the Ukrainian battalions as a member of the Georgian Legion. We expect more American volunteers to join us. The first group will consist of 10 people and they will take a direct part in the fighting in east Ukraine. They previously served as instructors, but now they will take part in the hostilities,” Mamulashvili said.

Boyenger, a native of South Carolina whose active military service spanned four years from 2006-2010, said he made the decision to join the current conflict out of solidarity with Ukraine, which he cited as a key US ally.

Prior to officially joining the legion, Boyenger spent five months in 2015 as a volunteer instructor for the Ukrainian army, teaching Kiev’s underfunded military essential combat skills.

Boyenger is, in fact, not the first US citizen to take an active combat role in the war. Mark Paslawsky, a 55 year-old West Point graduate and former investment banker from Manhattan, was killed in fighting during the Battle of Ilovaisk in August 2014 while serving as a volunteer in Ukraine’s Donbass Battalion.

A North Carolina man who was kicked out of the US military and then flew to Ukraine to become a hero mercenary in its war against Russian-backed insurgents is wanted for the murder of a Florida couple in April 2018.

The United States has formally requested that Ukraine extradite Craig Lang, 29, so that he could face trial in Florida for his role in the murders of Serafin ‘Danny’ Lorenzo Jr, 53, and Deana K. Lorenzo, 50.

Skipping down selected snips:

Zwiefelhofer and Lang had reportedly been previously detained by Kenyan authorities after they tried to enter South Sudan in 2017.

Zwiefelhofer, who is the son of the chief of police in Bloomer, Wisconsin, has pleaded not guilty

Authorities say they found child pornography on his cell phone. He was released on bond and then fled the state.

Early last year, Lang and Zwiefelhofer chatted online about possibly traveling to Venezuela to fight against the government.

They allegedly planned to travel to Florida
and steal a yacht, which they would then use to smuggle guns to ‘South America or Ukraine.’

Lang has many admirers in Ukraine,
a nation that is thankful to him for helping defend the country against its enemy, Russia.

He has used his status in Ukraine to get public support for his request for asylum.

In his application for asylum, he cited President Trump, who ‘has very close ties and a relationship with Vladimir Putin.’

Lang also accused Trump of working ‘at the request of the Russian government’ to target foreigners fighting in Ukraine.

Lang’s asylum claim and the lingering uncertainty over the death penalty issue means that his case could likely take years to resolve.

More than five months without new posts -isn't that unprecedented? With a changed situation in the US and in the World, what about Ukraine? Perhaps in the larger turmoil, Ukraine will remain insignificant, but if one is near to the situation, I don't think it feels that way.
OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine issue regular reports about the situation. In the latest from March 6, they write:
Based on information from the Monitoring Teams as of 19:30 5 March 2021. All times are in Eastern European Time.
Summary
  • In Donetsk region, the SMM recorded 59 ceasefire violations. In the previous reporting period, it recorded 11 ceasefire violations in the region.
  • In Luhansk region, the Mission recorded 46 ceasefire violations. In the previous reporting period, it recorded 36 ceasefire violations.
  • The SMM continued monitoring the disengagement areas near Stanytsia Luhanska, Zolote and Petrivske. It spotted people inside the latter two areas.
  • It spotted anti-tank mines for the first time near Yasne, Donetsk region.
  • The SMM facilitated and monitored adherence to localized ceasefires to enable maintenance and operation of critical civilian infrastructure.
  • The Mission continued following up on the situation of civilians, including at five entry-exit checkpoints and three corresponding checkpoints of the armed formations in Luhansk region.
  • In Odessa, the SMM observed a march to mark International Women’s Day and a counter-protest.
  • The Mission’s freedom of movement continued to be restricted.

Chaos In Ukraine Is Making An Epic Comeback

CHAOS IN UKRAINE IS MAKING AN EPIC COMEBACK

In Ukraine, the situation is slowly, but surely, falling into even a deeper abyss, full of violence and corruption – in the name of democracy for sure.

Joe Biden entered the White House, a true Ukrainian friend, who is prepared to support Kiev to the ends of the Earth. Especially after the investigations into him and his son Hunter Biden over stealing billions faded into obscurity.

As such, the internal situation in Ukraine is worrisome for even the most disillusion observer.

It all started with the shutting down of opposition TV channels and immediately moved to attacks on the largest and most popular opposition party – “Opposition Platform – For Life!”. Opposition leaders were then sanctioned, for being “Putin agents”, and many of its members were openly censored and persecuted. Then it came down to censoring and persecuted another well-known opposition figure – Anatoly Shariy, and his party.

Websites were pulled down, accounts were banned, cases were opened against those against President Volodymyr Zelensky and his “Servant of the People” party.

Crumbling power is being consolidated by the small clique of Nazi apologists and foreign puppets, which in the current format appears to be represented by President-Comedian Volodymyr Zelensky. Any resistance is being snuffed out. This is how democracy works in Ukraine, and it has the full backing of the bastion of Democracy – Washington.

As a significant additional concern comes the situation in Eastern Ukraine.

The ceasefire is all but forfeit, provocations are daily. Soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are frequently reported as dead or wounded, and it is all blamed on the “pro-Russian separatists” in the face of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.

At the same time, Kiev forces regularly shell both military positions, as well as civilian locations, mostly indiscriminately. According to opposition sources, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also use civilians to shield itself, while they attack.

Every single chance is being used to cause a provocation that could potentially escalate. The leadership of self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk have warned Kiev against worsening the situation, as heavy clashes were reported more than once.

The largest incident in the recent weeks took place on February 25th, near Gorlovka, and since then clashes have been frequently happening across the entire contact line.

Critical mass is nearing, and the impetus was expressed in Joe Biden’s words that the EU needs to “stand for Ukrainian sovereignty” and that the US was prepared to take the lead.

The lead isn’t being taken, but Kiev’s impunity has begun. “Russian aggression” is back on the agenda and the fight against is must be renewed.

This is justification for many harsh actions, that border atrocities, both in Eastern Ukraine and, internally for Ukraine.

With Washington’s blessing, all opposition being steadily removed, a “pure democracy” is coming to Ukraine. There are many ticking time bombs in Ukraine, and when one explodes, the chain reaction promises to throw everything into chaos.

Much of this article has to do with Donbass, what the "Franco-German Cluster Project of February 8, 2021" means and its seven points:

Point A example:
There are seven points in Cluster A dedicated to security and humanitarian issues: a complete ceasefire, mine clearance, withdrawal of heavy weapons, withdrawal of forces in new sections of the line of contact, opening of additional checkpoints, release and exchange of detainees, safe and reliable access of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) throughout Ukraine.

and cluster B, C, D and so on.

It looks at Ukraines maneuvering around the clusters, and NATO's ever present meddling (and others).

Cross referencing to recent western news sources like this one:

that presents the NATO slants (old rhetoric and western violins). Thus, the only valid statements in the article were cited as a semi-quote from Putin (and Lavrov), some time ago:

“I very much hope that they will not be ‘incited’ by politicians, who in turn will be ‘incited’ by the West, led by the United States,” said Lavrov.

and;

“Russian President Putin said (this) not long ago, but this statement is still relevant today, that those who would try to start a new war in Donbass – will destroy Ukraine.

Ron Paul weighs-in on Ukraine. One of the things he suggests is, the US pushing the Ukrainians to war, promising them more back up, then pull back assistance and let Russian take them down. “If” that happens, I would go one step further and say, then the MSM and the West could liken Russia to Germany taking Poland, and that Russian aggression must be stopped…etc. etc.

Article below:

Quite right words. The situation is heating up.
Ukraine is pulling heavy weapons to Donbass in spite of the Minsk agreements. On the weekend in the village of Aleksandrovka, a 5-year-old boy was killed by a drone (probably by a drone), his grandmother was wounded. Ukraine claims that this is a Russian fake and that there was no boy. Although there are testimonies of witnesses and a video from the funeral. The OSCE has noted a significant increase in the number of ceasefire violations. But the OSCE did not even come to investigate this case. Russia to investigate after reports from self-declared Donetsk People’s Republic claim Ukrainian army killed young boy with bomb

Kiev considers the Minsk agreement to be unenforceable. The Ukrainian delegation to peace talks on settling the conflict in Donbass will refuse to attend any discussions if they continue to be held in Minsk. Kiev accused Belarus of “hostile rhetoric” and being “influenced” by Russia. With tensions rising in Donbass, Ukraine pulls out of Minsk peace talks: Kiev refuses to meet Russia & OSCE in Belarusian capital

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree explicitly naming Russia as a “military adversary” of his country and accusing Moscow of an “aggressive foreign and military policy” that may lead to conflict in Europe. Zelensky said that Ukraine needs to join NATO, this will contribute to peace. Ukraine’s Zelensky approves strategy for ‘return’ of Crimea from ‘military adversary’ Russia & names NATO membership as key goal

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told reporters on Tuesday that “we have had contact with the US administration on the situation in the Donbass, and we have exhaustively explained to their side what is happening.” He added that Western rhetoric over Ukraine is striking an increasingly belligerent tone, and that “Washington should be concerned about the consequences of this coordinated policy.”
Over the weekend, Ukraine’s representative in talks over the future of Donbass said that the US-led military bloc was preparing itself for a potential conflict with Russia. “A large-scale NATO exercise has begun, called DefenderEurope 2021,” Aleksey Arestovich said, adding that “this basically translates to Defend Europe.” The envoy said that the drills will focus on areas “from the waters of the Baltic to the Black Sea, to put it bluntly, armed confrontation with Russia.”
As part of the wargames, Europe is expected to see the largest deployment of US forces since the start of the 21st century. Around 20,000 American troops will participate, along with a 17,000-strong contingent from NATO member states and non-members like Ukraine.
I doubt very much that the current US administration has even an ounce of prudence.

But by this time, another 2 teenagers of 16 years old were blown up by a mine - 1 died, the other was shell-shocked.

BREAKING! Russia Suspends Air Travel With Turkey Amid Tensions Over Erdogan's Support For Zelensky

Turkish drones were highly successful in the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war. This method of warfare is a Game Changer. And the militias are even worse prepared for this than Armenia was. Much worse, in fact.

Russia can take down these drones through electromagnetic warfare. Otherwise, they will have to respond directly through anti-aircraft missiles or air dominance. Putin, no doubt will do everything possible to avoid a direct military confrontation. But I fear that this will not be possible this time. I consider it quite possible that we will soon see Ukraine and Russia in an all-out war. But that depends on how suicidal the Ukrainians are.

And NATO, they're not going to engage directly despite possible promises made to the Ukrainians. The extra 40,000 troops now stationed in Poland will stay there. Ukraine is going to be sacrificed to fire up to the demonization of Russia.

Thank you for this thread. This is an issue I've been concerned about because my daughters partner works for the State Dept. and has been reassigned to Moscow. He had originally been assigned to Vladivostok with hazard pay but they ended up closing that embassy and I just found out about his new assignment a little over a week ago. When they were first assigned to Russia I was so excited for them and was telling my daughter how much I respected Putin and what he has done for his country. I think he is a remarkable man. She told me that no, he was evil. She is a liberal. I tried a new tactic saying that maybe she could stroll around the city and maybe get a feel for what actual Russians were thinking and feeling. She said they would not be allowed to do that. They would be watched and their phones would be tapped. really? wow. I dropped the subject.

After finding out that they were going to Moscow I sent her an article from SOTT talking about the tensions between Ukraine and Russia and there could possibly be a war.
the article I sent her was from the point of view of some of the people in the Donbass region. She informed me that was fake news. It is not fake news as far as I can tell and then her partner said he had not heard anything about the possibility of a war brewing. again .. really?

I am going to see them this afternoon and I plan to ask him again. I realize that he might not be allowed to talk about certain issues and I can understand that considering his job but I am concerned for my daughters safety and I need for him to understand my concerns. I agree with Korzik 18 when he said "I doubt very much that the current US administration has even an ounce of prudence."

Southfront has reported 3 more deaths today, two of Ukrainian armed forces and one LPR soldier killed by sniper fire:

I'm skeptical that the Biden-Putin meeting will take place or, if it does. it will come to nothing as I suspect it's just an attempt by the US to appear as the peacemaker exhausting all diplomatic avenues before hostilities begin. Something similar was played out before the first Iraq war in 1991. The decision to provoke a Ukraine/Russia war has already been made. I wouldn't be surprised if another major provocation on the scale of the downing of the Malaysian plane in 2014 is been prepared, which would be blamed on Russia or the LPR/DNR militias. Thus, casus belli for Ukraine.

The idiots who try and push Ukraine into war with Russia will feel how it is to be under barrage of Russia's battery rocket launchers combined with artillery shelling. Not that I am looking forward to seeing that, just saying how it will be. Whoever thinks he can be aggressive towards them with no good reason is a bloody fool.

I didn't like Trump too much. He seemed, well, unhinged at times. But I must say, he did not start a single one sided USA led war in his time in the White House. This Biden character has all marks of being a string puppet for someone or something within the USA. And that something is hell bent on antagonizing Russia. What a bunch of idiots reside in the USA, its appalling.

'Is 'Biden' Hunting something or it is just a bluff?'

I think we can take it now that there will be no summit meeting between Biden and Putin. I suspected it was just posturing on the US side anyway but, with the expulsion of more Russian diplomats and sanctions including a ban on Americans investing in Russia's sovereign debt today, it's now a very remote possibility.
I'm wondering about the cancellation of the passage of the two US navy ships into the Black Sea. Russian government officials and particularly the Minister of Defence, Shoigu have been very open and transparent about the consequences of a major attack on the LPR/DPR territory. They even allowed foreign reporters from Sky news to film them at their military staging camps near Voronezh. They were basically showing the US Biden regime and NATO cronies what is going to happen if they order Ukraine to attack the republics. And with Shoigu announcing the deployment of three airborne brigades (Divisions?) and a sudden naval exercise in the Black Sea, you know they're deadly serious.
Hopefully it's enough to make the Biden regime pull back from the brink. Maybe the cancellation of the Black Sea ship deployment is a sign they're getting nervous, but I wouldn't read too much into it. After all, five more military transport aircraft landed in Kiev yesterday so the Biden rearmament of Ukraine is in high gear. Temperatures in Eastern Ukraine will pick up in ten days, so the ground will be getting firmer for mechanized military movement. The early days of May may see the Ukraine make a move. I hope not, and they somehow see the senselessness of such a gamble. There would be a horrendous loss of life on top of what has already happened.
