The art of spurious shite from the ABC. It's mind boggling. I think a lot of what they're saying is disingenuous, misleading and simply incorrect.

Know someone feeling concerned about the COVID jab? Here's what to say

It's normal for people to have questions about new vaccines. So what's the best way to respond?

Wow that was hilarious!

Complete with cartoons to set the mood, along with instructions for empathetic non-listening listings skills for interacting with those more sceptical, while of course diverting their attention in positive ways.

Brought to you by three experts - Dr. Attwell, Dr. Kaufman and Prof. Leask who teaches "evidence-based practice, vaccinology, and health risk communication".

One thing that harkens back to the C02 days of climate funding (still making the rounds), is there sure seems to be buckets of research grant money available to help society keep on the covid-track.

Sorry, hit the wrong button and ran out of time to edit. Here's the full version of the post:

It looks like one of the most lockdowned countries in Westerm Europe is about to stay like that with little change. The announcement has yet to be made but you can tell by the amount of leaking to the media that this is what the public should expect. In fact they started talking about extending the lockdown until the end of May (it's being like this since December 26th) about six weeks ago so the decision was already made then, but no surprise there.
They have to keep the case numbers going so about five walk-in testing centres for people 'who may be concerned they have Covid' have been set up.
Looks like they discovered a bunch of healthy people (i.e. asymptomatic) and it has medical 'experts' worried and disheartened:

The biggest scandal in Ireland at the moment is the supplying of 20 excess doses of a vaccine to a private funded school not far from the private hospital which supplied them. The teachers were vaccinated. It's another 'scandal' to vector anger towards the perceived unfairness of the vaccine roll-out while increasing the desire among the fed-up population for the vaccine. With some major restrictions removed in the U.K. this week, the Irish government and media will no doubt hope that the contrast with the heavily vaccinated but 'free-er' UK with the comparitively low vaccinated but heavily lockdowned Ireland will have the effect of increasing the desire of the Irish to get vaccinated.

I was sitting next to my husband yesterday when he signed the vaccination register "just in case". I was stunned...
Today is the day... :-(

My husband is getting vaccinated. I have really tried everything to make him understand that the vaccination brings him nothing. And provided him with facts and information. But unfortunately I am the only one in his environment who thinks so. And although he literally said yesterday before going to bed: Now I'll have a vaccination given tomorrow, which actually brings me nothing at all. (he meant that in terms of more freedom) I then asked him, why are you doing it then? - Well, because then, if I get Corona, I will have a milder course. - I then said: We have been dealing with Corona for over a year now, you haven't even had a hint of a disease. So it seems that your immune system can handle it and is strong enough. Think about it again and sleep on it.

This morning when he got up he clearly said he will get vaccinated.

I hope everything goes well... At least he gets "only" Astra Zeneca and I have already purchased all the things from the vaccination protocol.... Maybe he will want to take it at least after that.... Because before that I could only persuade him to take vitamin C, unfortunately.

It goes its course now... I will have to take it as it comes and continue to work on MY immune system.... Ivermectin I have already taken.
I don't know if it is against his free will to ask you to pray for him.

I try to follow this thread but I’m not sure If This was posted already. Interesting coming from a big news outlet.

I hope everything goes well for you and him too. My partner's family is lining up to get vaccinated when their time comes. She has a big family and they're quite close to one another. Her parents are scheduled to get their first shot in about a week and their second shot in July. If anything bad happens to them because of this, I know she would be devastated. I suggested to her parents that if they take any vitamin C or D, you might want to take extra before and after your vaccine appointments to alleviate any symptoms you might have. But that's all I can do; try to help as best I can (osit). I can't protect them or convince them not to get it.

I feel for you Mililea, my family think I’m deluded by listening to conspiracy nutcases. So I have had to be very careful. I worry for my sister who is in poor health. The only person who listens to me is my husband but I’m a bit nervous he’ll weaken when the doctor says he should.

It - AZ - doesn't have the subtle effect of Pfizer so far as I can tell. Ask him if you can pray for him. Or use or get someone to do Reiki with his permission? If he says no, it's no.

I'm so sorry for you I know that feeling of sadness when family members choose one of the "vaccines". Even though they have received all the relevant information. The psychological warfare over the months has left its mark on many people. The programmed fear is so huge that you are no longer able to make sensible decisions for your health. You and your husband are on my thoughts and prayers. :hug2:

It's been a tough time for you, Mililea :hug2:and so many of us who've had to see our loved ones being so psychologically terrorised by the constant propaganda, not just the pseudoscience but also the demonisation of those, even the most academically gifted, who question the narrative. I didn't try to dissuade my parents from getting the vaccine (they got the Pfizer), not because I didn't care, but because my whole family have complete trust in the medical profession and the media. My concerns would have been dismissed with a snarky comment. I knew this because I had already spent years trying to make them aware of the dangers of statin drugs and gotten nowhere, despite the fact that my mother has been showing adverse side effects consistent with that medication for years.
I just had to learn to respect their free will and focus on defending my own.
There was one occasion in the past few months where I blurted out to a friend working in home care to not take the Mrna vaccine, and thought immediately I shouldn't have said it, but, surprisingly, she thanked me and got AZ instead. She was feeling awful for a couple of days but she's OK now.
Will, of course, keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the quick feedback @CluelessIn3D and @Tuulikki.

Today I first went to a pharmacy and explained that I want to do a test but exclusively from the mouth. This pharmacy explained to me that they exclusively do a swab of the nose. I explained that I could not take a swab in my nose because the inside of my nose was too sensitive and if they could recommend me an alternative. I then proceeded to the next pharmacy and saw a test booth right in front of the pharmacy and first looked at how it is done. At this pharmacy, they only take a swab from the front part of the nose (about 0.5-1.0 cm). When it was my turn, I explained again that the person should be very careful, because I would have a sensitive nose and then also reacted anxiously. I only had to give my name and no other information. I hope that this kind of test will continue to be possible. Alternatively, we also called a doctor and explained that we could only have a swab taken inside the nose because of the sensitivity inside the nose. Here we were initially answered that this must be discussed with the person who is to carry out the test. But at the moment we have a good solution.

Your feedback has helped to approach this matter more openly and confidently.

We want to navigate through this time as long as we can without going into confrontation.
Maybe you guys have tips on what we can say when we get tested at a pharmacy.
What are our options regarding the employer's requirement that we get tested weekly?
How do you guys handle this?
Just need to find out who is responsible to cover the cost for these weekly test. Are measures in place for reimbursements.

My father took the vaccine despite my efforts. I can relate to the feeling of having tried and failed.

I think there's clearly a differentiator inside people that make some run towards the vaccine but others away from it. The battleground seems to be for those in the middle, those who don't yet know which side they want to align with - the safety of the ptb and their well funded legions or the side of the rebels, outnumbered and outgunned.
