Coronavirus Pandemic: Apocalypse Now! Or exaggerated scare story?

I have a video of Shanghai that is a real horror story, worse than anything we've seen yet, I won't post it as it "if true" and I don't know that it is, is too disturbing to watch for many. Has anyone heard of mass suicides and corps processing facilities being sent to Shanghai? Moderator...any advice?

The ones with dogs and cats? If so, I don't recommend watching them either. Apparently the health authorities are confiscating and/or killing pets of anyone who tests positive. Some (most?) may actually be strays, but still disturbing either way. I've also seen the reports of "mass suicides" and watched a video of someone falling from 10+ floors up an apartment building. It wasn't immediately clear whether it was suicide or an accident (there are other videos of people scaling the outer walls of their apartment buildings trying to get out). But given the hysteria levels and the social contagion effect on suicide clusters, it wouldn't surprise me - you only need one to trigger others. There are other compilations out there of more people jumping off buildings/hanging themselves, but it's hard to verify them as specifically lockdown-related. Not sure what "corps processing facilities" are, though.

Guys like Matt Ehret and Jeff Brown are justifying these lockdowns with the argument that China is still convinced Covid is a bioweapon targeting Han Chinese. So they are treating it as if it is (even if it might not be). I think that could actually be the reason, but there's a difference between having a reason and implementing a solution that's both inhumane and incompetent - likely daily mass testing with thousands of people jammed up against each other. Reminds me of the Great Leap Forward in some ways...

BTW, officially, Shanghai hasn't had any covid deaths since April 2020.

I lived and worked in Shanghai for more than 4 years, and only have fond memories of those times. I hate to see it going through this.

This video and others like it are basically pieced together, are popping up (it seems all the sudden to me) which is a bit suspicious. The military unloading and marching in the street, I saw myself while there and it was never a big deal. Most people would just roll their eyes and say “they have to let us know they are there” The people being beaten and shoved around…I think true and probably recent. The people jumping from buildings is a compilation, but were they all from Shanghai, or were they from other cities at other times? The animal culling probably real and now. The hangings look mostly staged. Some probably real, but again from where and when? No proof its Shanghai and now.

Finally; on the video I watched, which looked like a alt news report, said so many people were committing suicide that they have ordered corps processing unites (portable I assume) for Shanghai.

And here’s the kicker: The alt news source was called. “New Federal State of China” Wiki has this to say: (note Steve Bannon’s name)

A lot of governments took similar draconians measures from China in 2020 and, there are many governments colluding in all this... Perhaps a trial of what may become next, do not like my own thinking, though.

On Saturday, 10th of April, almost all Covid measures have been lifted in Croatia. Halellujah.
I went to a mall on Sunday to do the weekly shopping and I saw only about 1-5% of people still wearing masks. I didn't see even one worker there wearing one and of the people that did wear them, many, or even most, wore them improperly. Funny that. Masks seem to be like some sort of pacifier for these people. Just feeling that constant pull at the back of their ears seems to calm their anxieties down.
I expect the wearers to all but disappear in a week or two cause they'll just look like weirdos, sort of like I did these past two years every time I went to a shop.
Oh the irony!
At some point I thought how annoyed I actually am at all these people not wearing masks all of a sudden. Where were you these past two years!?
There's this lady that sells dried meat, cheese, honey and stuff like that at the mall and she was always pretty militant about mask wearing. Well, lo and behold, now she's maskless.
Even though it's heartening to see that people here haven't been fully brainwashed by the Corona op, it's also disheartening to realize that most people, maks wearers or not, are just sheep. They'll do whatever the authorities tell them to.
Wear a mask, don't wear a mask, it's bloody Simon says, and it makes me wonder what's next. I just hope we get another few years to be able to prepare, materially and psychologically, for what they have in store for us in the near future.
 
This stuff from China, btw, is really freaky. What in the world are they doing over there? If we can trust any of the translations and explanations of the video and photographic material comjng out of there, then China has gone insane.
Now either it's a mostly a lie or an incredible exagaration, or the Chinese government is up to something. They might be thinking that Covid is actually dangerous again, or they believe that the US has plans to engage in biowarfare, or maybe they are working towards something else altogether.
These revelations of biolabs in Ukraine seem to coincide with China's crackdown. It might be significant in a roundabout kind of way.

Thanks, I was wondering what take 'sinophiles' had on this Shanghai lockdown. It's been 'crickets', so far, from Carl Zha and Daniel Dumbrill. I was initially skeptical, like sottreader, about this latest wave of 'videos coming out of China'. But the basic facts about Shanghai being under severe lockdown are fairly clear now. Tucker Carlson covered them in a recent report:

Up to the 6-minute mark, Carlson reports on some of the extreme measures being taken there. From there to the end of his report he speculates as to why the Chinese authorities are doing this: it's 'election season' in China, so Shanghai, with its relatively high degree of political autonomy, is 'being put in its place' by the central government ahead of Xi's (re-)'coronation'.

I don't find this explanation satisfactory. Surely, if that were the pressing motive, 'Covid measures' would be most liberal at this point in time in order to curry popular support for the government. Instead we're seeing what appear to be unjustifiably draconian 'health' measures. Sinophobes are well within reason to call this out as population control, not population 'protection'.

I wonder if Carlson's argument has merit, but in reverse: Shanghai's relative political independence (from Beijing) has enabled it to 'go it alone'? We saw that to some extent in Russia, with the Moscow authorities going way beyond requirements and recommendations set by the Russian Federal government.

Anyway, it's an extreme situation that begs explanation.
 
A recent Global Times (GT) report repeated the claim that Omicron is "worse than the flu." It isn't. The flu data they're comparing with is useless because no govt EVER repeatedly mass tested populations for flu. In any event, Covid-19, of whatever variant, retains an extremely low (in absolute terms) Case-Fatality-Ratio.

GT goes on to portray negative press about the extreme lockdown in Shanghai as a Western psy-op to delude Chinese people into abandoning 'Zero Covid'. This is no less absurd than Western media suggesting Chinese lockdowns are intended to lure Western govts into imitating them!

They're either all (West & East) simply drunk on power and control, or there is some 'deadly' component of this lab-made virus that is doing something to the human population that fundamentally 'alters' the genome in ways that none of them dare speak about.
