Daily Nicotine Requirements according to blood type

For my most recent purchase, I decided to try a (new--definitely not used) pasta cutter. I got this one:

_http://www.amazon.com/Fantes-Great-Ginas-Pasta-Machine/dp/B00698PP5C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357309374&sr=8-1

but haven't tried it out yet so I can't comment on how good it is. I really haven't found a good, reasonably priced option for cutting the leaves. There's also this device:

_http://www.leafonly.com/tobacco_leaf_shredder_standard.php

I personally think it's kind of ridiculous that it costs $50.

Thank you, Foxx. I was wondering about a leaf shredder because one of the website sells the cutting machine for $264.00! I didn't know it costs that much.

But I cannot spare much time for cutting leaves by hands either, time is money, too. I would rather spend a little extra money for a good machine. Maybe I end up getting a pasta machine as well. I am going do my own research and figure it out what to do.

Just as a follow up, so far the pasta cutter isn't doing a very good job of cutting the leaves, so I'm considering getting the hand powered one from leafonly.com for $50.

There is no need to see a doctor to find out your blood type. Just google "blood typing kit" and several pop up for around $10. I didn't know mine either, till I did it myself at home. I also did it for my kids.

You can likely find the kits in stores in your area, Nuke. Just search and you will find. :)

With the help of this home blood type test kit done today, it seems my blood type is A- :)
Now I can actually do some research on blood type related 'phenomena, yay. Thanks again, Lilou

edit: My blood type seems to require a lot of tobacco! :D

I am A+ and I smoke organic tobacco Manitu with free aditive paper. Here in Australia where I live now is very difficult to find organic tobacco so I don't have a lot of choice. And is very, very expensive. 35 gram 31 AUD (cca. 25 EURO!). I smoke up to 25 cigarettes and really enjoying the smoke. Manitu taste I like very much but anybody from Australia maybe know a cheaper solution? All advices appreciated. :cool2:

One thing about the Powermatic. It does a cigarette shred. In my experience, cigarette shred does not work well with pipe smoking. It burns too fast and hot. For pipe tobacco I take somewhat moist leaf strips, lay them flat on top of each other then press it in a freezer bag between two boards with a C-clamp for 12 hours. Then manually slice the plug thin with a knife.

Please let know how it works. I am considering to get the Powermatic. But if the hand powered leaf cutter works also for pipe smoking, I will probably buy and try it first. :)

Ah, thanks for the reminder Aya! The hand powered one is working quite well and cuts the tobacco into nice thin strips very similar to roll your own tobacco. It's a little awkward with its clamp for how I want to use it--it's basically meant to be clamped onto a table or something similar. I want to cut it sitting down next to my computer, so I clamped it to a small cutting board and put it on my lap that way. The gears feel very solid and it feels smooth when cutting and grips and cuts the tobacco leaves quickly and easily. So I'm pretty happy with it so far.

I'm guessing that both it and the powermatic will produce about the same cut of tobacco and I personally smoke it out of a pipe (and roll it) and am happy with it.

Thinking about my whole leaf tobacco venture, the thing that would make things a lot faster was if the stem was already removed from the leaves, since removing the stem is a bit of a bottleneck in the procedure. I discovered after my most recent purchase that there are sites that sell de-stemmed leaves. Here's a couple that claim to do it (the first only specifies that the stems are removed for the "Full Flavor American Blend - Red Ribbon" type, but may also be removed for others):

It's more expensive than other places, but it's faster and it should come with a bit more tobacco due to the weight of the stems being changed out for leaves. Another place that seems to only sell in 10lb quantities, but for a cheaper per pound weight, without stems is here:

The de-stemmed leaves and the hand powered leaf cutter should yield good tobacco relatively quickly. I don't have a good time estimate for how long it would take to process a pound, though.

The image shows an example of the results I've gotten from the cutter.

Hi Foxx, thank you soo much for the update. The result I can see in your picture is pretty nice, so I am probably going to try the hand powered cutter - I usually do well with old fashion hand powered machines than high-tech ones anyway. :P I am still looking for a good pipe, but there are so many kinds and it is very difficult to choose. Once I decide it, I will get a cutter along with de-stemmed leaves. After that, if it is still too much work to use a hand powered cutter, I will consider to invest in the Powermatic in future. Thanks again!

Please re-read the forum guidelines. Discussing your illegal drug habits will get you removed from the forum.

I have read the forum guidelines. Assuming that I was the one with the illegal drug habit is insulting. Did I say I ground it up and smoked it? No.

Again, do not discuss illegal activities on this forum. It matters not whether it was you or not. If you can't abide by this guideline, please find another forum where you can discuss such things all you'd like.

No, but what you did say was, "it didn't seem to affect the smokeability Hehe. :cool2:" which makes it sound as if you were the one doing it.

The reason we don't discuss illegal substances/activities here is for the protection of the forum - so that there actually is a forum to come to. The guidelines are in place so that you and others can have a more enjoyable experience here. Try to keep in mind that this is not personal, but is asked of all members, see? :)

Hi bosy,
Have you read the threads on diet and cigarrettes? Do you think you can do something to change what you have noticed??
