Describe your usual day

Well mine day usually starts quite distorted because most of it. I am running late for college. I also have to run for it from time to time. And in those winters well it's becoming tricky again since it's getting to freeze. So I have to watch my step or I slide out.

So I am low on food had nothing to drink but at least there is almost always somebody who is able to feed me so I live on. Glorious.

After those classes, well considered school life,... Projects, and you have to them in a group. It's all decided for you, who you have to work with so it's rather always disappointed. I be honest I don't really have any motivation but somehow the people who I have to work with are always the opposite. It just doesn't fit. Not only that it's always a spectacle to see how everybody is treating each other. Everyones work is never good enough and even if it is by far, somehow most of them they just I guess see each other as 'rivals,' just 1/4 of all the time is comprised in this. Into arguing about absolutely everything about them trying to make a point which just isn't relevant. Good luckily I am almost never intertwined in this and don't even try it.

The rest of the day I end up reading material on the Internet, mostly of-course sott.net. Or some of the many books which are advised here.
My day really varies, since I sometimes work days, getting up at 0400, sometimes midshift 1400-2200, and sometimes nights 2200-0600. I work as a correction officer on varible shifts, so my sleeping, recreation, and meals are kinda scrambled. I do check the forum and SOTT regularly, generally on the night-shifts, since most inmates are asleep. I have no real schedule or routine, except for coffee.
Oh man I already see it. Having those night-shifts. Playing some serious poker. I really want your job.

God, finally...here is my video response to this thread, it took forever to get it uploaded because I had soooo many problems with youtube for some reason. But anyway, here it is.

Nothing special, just getting some practice with videos. :)

Hi Leo,
Surprisingly I do enjoy the job as a CO, my backround has been in administrative management and engineering. We have people that are a danger to themselves and others, so being alert is a key, but the swingshifts ARE hard because of your safety concerns. To tell you the truth, working with inmates, that have done every crime in the books, is more rewarding than working with CEO's and Engineers, whose crimes are just part of our corp. society.

Hi abstract,
just a thought - are you familiar with the term 'strategic enclosure'?

If I was your boss I certainly wouldn't be happy with the way you described your working day.
I know of a people who were sacked for blabbing even less then you did on the internet. Something to think about.

:D ;D but as I understand from video , abstract is "customery oriented " he was explaining how he is "trying not to p..off any customers " so that is good
But he is sleeping a lot
I was expecting more from video abstract , lets see next one more creative :)

But he is sleeping a lot

Don't know what this means...

I was expecting more from video abstract , lets see next one more creative

I can't exactly be so exciting when i'm just explaining my day, which is admitably kinda boring. Thanks for the honesty. Any suggestions on the videos?

I didn't say i was discontented with it, It's just a part of my day that I neither enjoy nor disdain, my job isn't very challenging so I don't have much to say for it. I don't have anything bad to say about anyone I work with. When I said "zone out" it means that I just put my head down and do work, I don't stand around and chitchat. If I keep busy, I don't look at the clock, time goes by faster, then work feels less stressful. FWIW, ask any of my previous employers and they can probably say at the very least that I'm a hard worker.

abstract, you said that you wake up in 2pm, and I did not understand what time was your bed time, so thought it :) is loong sleep
An regarding the video I was expecting more because that was the first video about this tread. So comparing with posts there is more posibillity to show your daily routine.
Switching on the camera in different time of the day to show your "mood" after job, or during the research and reading or how you play music ...I was thinking it will be that way . ;) But of course thanks for the video and effort

OOOhhh!!! Now I feel dumb for not coming up with that in the first place. Maybe this is a good feature to add in to future videos! Thanks for the idea! :D

Btw, bed time for me is 6:00 or 7:00 a.m.

My usual day starts with a shower and shave, and making up a cup of tea for my wife.
At least twice a week I drop our 2 boys off early at school for singing practice, and go to work where I spend the day talking to farmers, growers and supermarket buyers.I try to phone my parents and my eldest daughter who is away at school during the day. In between work I dip in and out of the forum a few times a day.

3 nights a week my wife teaches yoga, so we have a “baton” hand over as I arrive and she leaves.
Normally she has started the cooking and I finish it off, feed the kids, get them ready for bed and clear up in the kitchen.

I get about 40 mins to read my book before my wife gets home about 10ish and has something to eat while we chat about our day, the kids, the forum, the news.

If it is Monday or Thursday (my favourite day as we are all home) we do the EE breathing together or watch something we recorded on the TV, or read some more, then hit the sack (me usually to0 late- I have a terrible “stay up late programme”)

I really love my usual days. I have to travel a lot for work and the older I get the more I dread/dislike doing it. I need to post about that one day, maybe in the Swamp

I usually wake up at 5:30 and feed the cat. Before I leave for work I make sure my daughter is up and getting ready for school. I usually arrive at work by 7 AM and check the forum before I officially start at 7:30. I get home from work about 3:30. One night a week I have yoga. I often have at least one meeting a week. I belong to an organization that promotes alternative transportation. I also am part of a neighborhood revitalization committee. We have movie nights in the park; sponsor neighborhood clean ups and community gardens, etc. I often split up the EE program. I do the breathing in the morning and the POTS and meditation at night.
My evenings at home at spent with my daughter or I curl up with a good book. I have worked my way through about half the recommended reading.

I don't get to post a lot as I have busy days, but I hope this will help some of you who don't quite "know" get a feel for brainwave here.

My day starts at 5:45 am. the hygiene stuff shower etc, Fix the little one breakfast, pack her lunch for school while she gets cleaned and dressed. Then I have my lemon juice in filtered water and am out the door by 6:45 to get her to school.

Get back to the house, after 7am, clean up the breakfast mess, feed the cats and the bird and out the door by 8 for work.
Work schedule varies depending on the task at hand for that day. If I'm running experiments it's usually a 12 hr day and I get home at 9. If I'm just analyzing data or teaching then I leave by about 6pm and get home by 7-7:30 depending on whether we have to pick up veggies and stuff. At home, go over homework with the wee one, have the healthy dinner my partner cooks, clean up, read to the wee one and put her to bed by 9. I then try to get some reading and writing done that is either work related or this forum/qfs related. If I work late then I don't get to put the wee one to bed and most of the time I dont' get to the forum until the weekend. If I do get to read during the week it's quick reads between stuff at work but not enough to post. I usually get to sleep around 12pm or so then it starts all over again. In between I get to eat, talk to family and stuff like that :)

Right now its 14 minutes past my bedtime so I sign off for tonight.

brainwave

 Go to school, eat, read and look at a lot of places to find inspiration and end the saga, mi imagination was the thing that took me here...

I do my homework and I have to be honest, sometimes I forget to do it :scared:

a really interesting life because all that I dream, all that I live with the emotions battle

pretty fun, and pretty hard

Dear brainwave next time when I feel lazy I will remember you and your day ,and that will make me feel shamed since I do not have even half of your obligations and I am thinking that I am busy . :-[

Ay, this treat is a good idea, indeed.

My "day" usually starts at 01:00 at night. I get up, grab my clothers and try to stay awake until my mind switched "on" too.
At 01:30 i jump into my car and go to work in a hotel. 02:00, i am there and first i take a shower, a coffee and eat something.
03:00, work beginns until 08:00, sometimes 09:00 or, if help is needed, 13:00.

When i am home again, i stay on the couch, check news, read books, organize whatever is needed, eat something.
Then, 17:00, i go to bed.

Ok, that's my day. ;)
Sounds not very interesting and the job takes away a great amount of my energy, but to work at night means, to have the whole day left for more important things like learning, government issues and everything what has business hours. I love that job.
