I'll draw Cochise for Azur and will post it here in this thread. If he will be satisfied with it, I'll send it to him and all I'm asking is to cover the cost of sending.

Thank you.

It will be forwarded to my Dad, who started to call me "Cochise" when I first started to see the World for what it was.

He was sad and happy at the same time when he saw that I could see it too.

He did well by me, as I look back: he went off to do what he had to do, BUT never lost himself in it, and kept the hearth warm.

I've learned a lot by observing him and understanding why he did what he did.

Truth is, he had no one to call him Cochise when he needed it. Yet, he was the same in so many aspects. Guided by himself.

I lovingly call him "Kimosabe", and he smiles. (Even after I showed him the Far Side cartoon in reference).

If you can draw Cochise, I will cover expenses and shipping. PM me (with the understanding that PMs can be shared in the network).

I have been drawing Cochise from 10 AM till now (with breaks of course), I'm still not satisfied with the drawing, with eyes... I hope I will finish him tomorrow.

Hello Grini, I haven't had a chance to welcome you and say how good it is to have another artist's work to look at. Warm welcome.

Thank you. I have just checked your page on Behance and your personal page, your illustrations and drawings are awesome :) I hope one day I will be able to draw and illustrate like you.

Grini,

I very much appreciated your offer, but please don't worry or work too hard on this, if you feel unsatisfied with it.

I'm amazed by your talent and I hope you can supplement your income, or make an income on your drawings, they are VERY good.

:hug2:

These are lovely drawings and have more 'life and energy' in them than most paintings or sketches. It would be a shame for your talent to be hidden from the world. Each of those originals, in my mind should be made a print/poster to be shared and give you an income reward and towards further creations.

A lovely way to get our message across too.

I think it would be a shame to sell the originals unless you are happy to do a production line of 'originals' which would become boring for such creative talent.

IMHO it could be a good idea to combine energy with our T-shirt guys here for marketing, product line enhancement etc. as similar messages.

Pictures tell a thousand words - but also bring joy

Thank you!

I will finish him, but at the moment I'm in the other city. Your story behind Cochise motivates me very much, and I really want to make it the best I can, because I know it will be emotional moment for you and your dad when you will show him Cochise.
I drew my grandfather one month before he died (on his 20 year old paper, he was working in paper factory) and he was laughing and crying at the same time when he saw himself :) That was really a special moment, and he was smiling next few days and everytime he saw me walking around.

Yes, I have to do something about it. If you want you can buy it, but first I have to take a photo of it so you can see how it really looks, it is more gray. This version has more contrast.

Thank you. Your last sentence describes exactly what I just wrote to Azur. I'll continue with drawing and we shall see where it will lead.

Azur, I have just finished Cochise. This was my second attempt. The first one was in charcoal on a bigger paper, but I didn't like it in the end. This one is in pencils, size is A4. Please let me know if you like it. I cropped his head so when you will zoom in you will see more details.
Sorry for taking so long.

Grini,

Beautiful drawing! Amazing details.

Again, you are gifted. Thank you for sharing your talents.

One thing did strike me, however. I don't know if this is a composition of your own, or a traditional of his people, but why the hair band over the forehead?

Is it traditional, or symbolic?

In any case, it's striking. Beautiful drawing. :flowers:

Thanks for the answer and I'm glad you like it. About hair band... I googled Cochise and there was only one version of photo of him that came up, and it was this one with hair band.
As I wrote before, if you want I can send it to you and all you need is to cover the cost of shipping.
